Title: Clicking on items to give
Post by: Makeeda Adah on August 23, 2008, 03:24:52 am
when i click give, to an NPC, and i click on something in my inventory, it just does "EXAMINE" and i cant transfer items. i have tried loging in and out, changing the control option that says "items" and then the dropdown menu has: pick up, examine, use, combine, and unlock. it is already on pickup, but it is acting like it is on examine. i tried clicking different things, then saving, but its always examine. i havent tried, what people call "updating" but i dont know how to do that. HELP! i am in this stupid tutorial and to get any farther this is the only thing i can do. :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

Have you tried clicking down, then dragging the item without releasing the mouse button?

You have a one button mouse by any chance?

Go to your options, mouse tab and try switching the controls for 'context menu' and 'entity select' then try again. The button you have behind 'entity select' should allow you to pick up and move items around in your inventory and into other windows.

sadly, i tried this too, before you mentioned it. and after you mentioned it. twice. nothing worked. its not a rightclicking problem either, its just a weird glitch. :-\  :-[  :'(

*edit*

do you think if i uninstalled and then reinstalled the download, that it would fix it? would i still have an account? would it completely start over?

Your account would be saved regardless of any installs/uninstalls, however that would not fix your problem. Try shift+click or control+click, double-check your options. Make sure the game is fully updated.

*Edit*

*edit*

is there like a keyboard shortcut instead of using the mouse that would move my item from one box to the other?

The mac updater does not have a GUI so you won't see the file transfer unless you open your Console application or run the updater through Terminal.

You can enter /use, /equip and /dequip but there's no command to drop items or sort them.

so just because i opened the updater and saw nothing, doesn't mean nothing happened?  :whistling:
