Title: looking for the "Idiot Guide to Installing"

I have downloaded the game.
Had the mising .dll file, did the recommended solution.
Fixed the updater.
Downloaded the Md5sum (whatever it is called).

Ran the updater (file a while).
Started the game... nothing happens.

Something I am missing?

OS version and client version?

System stats?

when you say nothing happens when you launch the client, you mean nothing starts or what?

If what you're saying is that the updater still won't update, here is how to solve the most common issue.


Go into the planeshift directory (C:\Program Files\PlaneShift Steel Blue unless you changed it)
right-click updaterinfo.xml
click edit
*A file should have opened in a new window.
first thing it will say is "<config active="false">"
erase "false" and type in "true"
save the file
try the updater again

ps.  if it already says "true", I don't know what to do.

or maybe it says "failed" because the server is down?
