Title: Incorrect password

I have read all the other replies to this question and have tried all the suggestions.

Since this topic hasn't appeared for over a month I thought I'd ask again.

I downloaded the program
Found a copy of openal32.dll that works with Vista
Ran the updater, twice
Registered a new account
Answered the activation email

So far so good.

I run the program, put in my email address and password and get told that the password is incorrect.
It's the same password that I used logging in here so it should be correct.
Just in case I got it wrong, or made a mistake somewhere I tried "Password Recovery"
After putting in my email address I get the message "No validated account with that e-mail found."
If I try to activate the account following the emailed link I get the message "Your account has already been activated."

I saw the message about the fragnetics server being down but since updates work and the status page indicates that it is up that isn't the answer.

So I appear to have an account with a password that I know that works here but not in the game
Where do I go from here??

Have you tried  resend verification? Make sure that when you enter the Password that you backspace to clear and white space in the entry box. Your account did you create an account here (http://laanx.fragnetics.com/register/newaccount.php) as this forum and the game are on different server and require separate accounts.

If none of the above apply contact Rizin rizinPS   @      gmail.com or Acraig (http://hydlaa.com/smf/index.php?action=profile;u=7) from the email address used to register

Thanks for the help.

I finally sussed it out.

It wasn't plain to an idiot like me that this forum is not connected to the game.

When I was told to look for an email in my inbox that's just what I did. I never expected there to be another one in my junk folder too.

An email that says it comes from "PlaneShift" and says that "You are now registered with an account at PlaneShift" is what I expected.
The other email, also from "PlaneShift", was classed as junk by my ISP.

Let this be a salutory lesson for others.

The two emails had subjects of
"Welcome to PlaneShift‏" - this is from this forum

and the one classed as junk
"PlaneShift Account Verification‏" - Needed to play the game.


How do you say "Doh!"
