Us australians have been under the rule of the evil emperour of the phone lines TELSTRA they made every one cap the download limits on ADSL and make it cost a fortune but while the costs are still there for 64.50 a month you can get unlimted downloads on ADSL from both http://www.ozforces.com.au and http://www.dodo.com.au I take my hat of to these ISP\'s I mark this day down in Australian history

Are they still capped bandwidth for you guys?... sicne Telecom NZ has done a similar thing, restricting the speed of highspeed connection by well over half (after all they own all teh lines in teh country). We have unlimited downloads (well almost unlimited since the limits about 3gig a month for 50$ or so) with a monthly charge rather than the old per meg downloaded fee they had when they first introduced ADSL here, but the speed is only half of what ADSL is capable of over a normal line. yet they toute how speeedy and fast it is and that its up to 3 times faster than a normal connection, if only people realised just how much there jipping us on it compared to other countries, my brother says that its alot differant in Britain, if British telecom did what Telecom NZ was doing theyd be out of buisness real fast, guess its the price we pay for new (heh the word new makes me laugh, seeing as other countries have had it alot longer than we have) technology in a small out of the way country with large corporate monopolies.

prob is you can\'t make telstra go broke they own every phone line in the country and all ISP\'s have to pay them money for using it
(I\'m sure if a british person came over here and had had ADSL in there country they would be moving back pretty fast)
oh and yes they still cap the bandwidth you can get 1.5mb connection if you pay a mere say $115 a month lol other wise your stuck on 256k or 512k
