Title: Updater Problems?
Post by: KylinRage on October 08, 2008, 04:00:04 am
I've searched through these boards quite a bit.  Although the problems solved are similar to the problem I have, the solutions suggested do not seem to work.

This is what I have done so far:
-Got the updateinfo.xml from xordan.com
-Tried making a copy named updateinfo.xml.bak
-Tried getting AND deleting OpenAL32.dll
-Tried running the updater and logging in
-Downloaded the updater fix on planeshift.it

Still, the updater says that md5sum of client zip does not match correct md5sum, and that they can not read or remove /this/updaterinfo.xml.bak.  I have no choice but to exit the updater, and I am also left with an empty win32-0.4.01 archive.

Can anybody elaborate on anything I'm doing wrong, or at least clarify how to solve this?  The suggestions were a little vague to me,  so I am not sure of what to do.  I really want to see how Planeshift looks like now, but the client insists that I run the updater because my version is incorrect.

P.S. I have searched for solutions almost all day now, so I'm not sure why I can't fix it.
