I bought a new computer on 8/26/08 from a small computer store. Over the weekend on I added a Nvidia GF 9600 costing $169.00, to replace the onboard graphics card. On 10/12/08, the computer shutdown by its self, and the screen turned black and now the computer refuses to turn on. At the time, I was using the internet to post for my online class.
Therefore, I know a little about the inside of the computer, and can follow directions on how to install a new part.
What could be the cause of this problem, and how would I fix it?
System states
XP Home
Nvidia GF 9600 GT, (512 MB)
ADM (2x) duel core 5400 2.8GHz
2 GB’s ram
RealTek HD onboard sound card

how strong is the power supply?

yep, sounds like it needs more juice.
though you could try taking the new card out and hoping it runs in its original state else it might be something a bit more?

It was replaced the same day as I brought it in on Oct 13. Also I fond out if I bring any parts in within a year they will install them for free.
