darkfall is coming
any questions about the game i will be happy to answer.
-
Sucks.
-
Long live <NOTaBanker>!
-
That is what?
-
This game looks boring just from looking at the color scheme, though. Why is it so yellow/gray/white? I only saw one screenshot out of all of the ones on that site that show a blue sky, and even then it's covered in clouds to the point where you can barely see the blue.
If you want the -real- next generation, check out aiononline.com
Sure, it's made in Korea, but it has much more appeal than most other games from there.
-
You have it all wrong, people. Online isn't the way to go.
/me gets on her knees and grovels to whatever god may be out there, praying for Fable 2...
-
The only way WoW will ever be topped is by WoW itself. over 11 million active accounts and counting with no sings of it ever slowing down.
Blizzard has the appeal to the masses game down perfectly and the only way I see that ever being over thrown is if they screw up on an expansion release and another game steps up at the same time to entice potential customers to make the switch over.
Other game companies shouldn't try to beat them at their own game, but rather appeal to niche markets, as they aren't going to ever be able to topple the WoW machine.
Warhammer, however, shows promise of being the next big contender to the MMO genre, and I like the concepts they introduce in that game. They have the PvP idea down pretty solid and make it quiet fun. I can see a large WoW PvP crowd moving towards Warhammer because of it if WotLK doesn't fix many of the flaws WoW PvP has.
but all in all, those are only my personal opinions on it all.
-
Way to copy and paste from every single MMO website, Neko. :P
Even the people who play WoW hate it (I should know), and Warhammer only shows appeal to the Warhammer Fantasy nerds. Sure, you can't compete with WoW, but that's really only because it stepped in where other games failed. All gamers nowadays just call other games "WoW clones" or something when another steps in, even though WoW originally copied from Everquest and Warhammer itself.
-
I don't hate WoW... I lurv it.
/me also prays for an Xbox 360.
-
Looks kinda interesting.
WoW will get beaten when holodecks are invented :P
-
its not about numbers, i thought of all places this place would understand.
sure wow has the numbers but its only because its true appeal is to first time mmo players. darkfall is a free for all pvp full loot sandbox type game that hasn't been matched since UO.
of course this game is not for carebears so if you like sitting around in the tavern and talking about your made up background.. this game wont be for you. but if you like the simple fact of role playing completely in a world thats economy and rules are based around player creation than this is for you.
a little bit of info i can elaborate more on.
1) There are no levels, only a skill based system, which of course is one of the only things i like about planeshift.
2) the world is vast. it takes 6-8 hours real life time to go from one end of the main continent to the other.
3) very little emphasis on gear. If your a wow player and understand the game they play at blizzard its spend months getting to high lvl, then spend months farming for the best gear, then wait till the next expansion for 10 more lvls and some new gear that the last gear you farmed months for has been made useless. the very fact that "endgame" content in wow is lacking so dramatically that any true mmo player leaves the game for something better.
4) ships, players can create ships on open waters and use them to create a caravan, pirate, or transportation methods. all ships are able to be boarded and stolen. a radical new approach that just furthers the mmo genre.
5) ffa pvp, full loot. can you think of any more excitement? no more standing around afk, no more constant grind. no more gold spammers. it almost forces you to create friends and a guild and play with friends. of course u can go the lonewolf way, but you have to be ready for anything and play very cautiously, again this game is for real mmorpg players. and will not appeal to any carebears. but i do remember a few people in this game that played for pvp and loved to fight and prove they were a great fighter outside of /me cast a fireball.
i can go on more but lets stop at these so i can answer any questions.
also i have played warhammer for about 3 months now and can honestly tell u it is bombing. it is hyped up and put out there despite its lack of real content. the open pvp is epic fail. they ruined any chance of having a flourishing land of pvping upon deciding to make scenario's. think of it like the battlegrounds in wow but u can be anywhere to join and come back right where u left. i have reached endgame at lvl 40 and found they gave up plenty of great features they had originally intended to put it, solely to appeal to the masses coming from wow.
now if all you care about is popularity, and shear numbers in a game, ease of play and no real skill or risk in a game... then wow is for you. but if your looking for a ever exciting game where u must watch ur back always and a real chance to prove your the best... all the while maintaining the rp you want for your character than you must look at this game.
oh btw this game is fps style. no more "target nearest enemy" "spam 1 and 2 and 1 and 3" till target dies.
warhammer = epic fail for appealing to the masses of carebears.
wow = great for a noob, plain and simple
planeshift = the never completed game
darkfall = a new generation in mmo's
*edit*
also here is the latest trailer for the game.. it is 100% gameplay footage. because its on youtube and i doubt most of u will take the time to download it from a link its split into 6 vids
heres the 1st.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJSm674ql5s&feature=related
if u cant figure out how to watch the rest then /wrist
-
I've played a FFA PVP game with looting before. That game was fun to grief until they changed it around so it went carebear friendly. The Darkfall community also griefed it as well.
I anticipate that Darkfall will be fun to grief. It's possible to grief PlaneShift though but it's very hard.
-
did u play UO or AC?
cuz i believe those are the only games that had ffa pvp and full loot
This game looks boring just from looking at the color scheme, though. Why is it so yellow/gray/white? I only saw one screenshot out of all of the ones on that site that show a blue sky, and even then it's covered in clouds to the point where you can barely see the blue.

Sure, it's made in Korea, but it has much more appeal than most other games from there.
is this ur first mmo? your comparing a real mmo to another korean grind fest? and u judge the game on the website design. coming from a guy whos playing a game in what is now... prex2 alpha or prex5 alpha.. i forget.
-
No, I played Crowns of Power. I was the leader of the Something Awful guild <NOTaBanker>, and the Darkfall guild was called <Darktide>. All we did was grief the game and the only way the admins could completely get rid of us was to make their game carebear friendly (http://img530.imageshack.us/img530/30/18147137ds9.jpg).
-
hmm never played it, i'd try it but its a carebear game now so u say lol
also u had a darkfall guild? the games not out yet.
-
Heh. I don't care about whether the game looks good, has a good system, or if it sucks completely because of two words
Mac client.
It probably doesn't have one so I'd never get the chance to voice my opinion. :P
-
No, you misunderstood me. There were (http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=2945072) two (http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=2952773) communities (http://forums.darkfallonline.com/showthread.php?t=68481) griefing Crowns of Power simultaneously.
-
rofl long time no talk duraza
remember the time we got one Laanx to speak to us? that was the best, these noobs will never see that hahahaha
anyways yes ur right i dont believe they will be crossing OS for a while, they just dont have the staff they say. but hey if they do i'll let you know, i know u'd love the game =)
No, you misunderstood me. There were (http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=2945072) two (http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=2952773) communities (http://forums.darkfallonline.com/showthread.php?t=68481) griefing Crowns of Power simultaneously.
i see what ur saying. but in this game griefing is encouraged. gotta love the dev's. they are making the game mainly for a game THEY like. above customers above fans. so you know money or constant whining wont change the game
-
If they can pull off FFA PVP with looting then that will be interesting. But I don't see how they are going to attract roleplayers.
-
well in my days of planeshift i remember quite a few people who ran their mouths alot and didnt back it up. i remember alot of guilds wanting to be a policing force but had no use because of the /duel command. and with the best loot in planeshift being drops... all the merchant guilds and merchants themselves had a hard time being a merchant. same with the bank guilds. think of all the restrictions you find in planeshift from rp and add to the fact that in this game. not only is it open pvp. but the best gear is player crafted.
now im not just trying to steal people from this game, before the communist mods start locking... yes i remember you guys very well... just saying that we all know planeshift develops at the rate of a pile of crap rolling up hill. you guys can play this on the side. or at least take a glance at it.
-
Comrade, I don't see what's so 'next gen' about this game.
What features does it have which no other MMO has?
-
fps is a big one. first person shooter. if you swing your sword whatever is in its path gets hit.
a concept of an mmo thats skill based. not depended on how long you grind or what gear you have.
a sandbox world. no instances or zones. no parallel lvling zones that you never return to as you lvl.
cities you build as a clan, complete with npcs. basically everything you get with a traditional mmo city, but it is player run, and cant be taken just as quickly.
i have yet to see an mmo that combines mainland gaming with a naval aspect.
player ran economy/rules.
ever changing skills in game time environment. penalties vs rewards for combining skills. also deteriorating skills ingame time for lack of use. basically say u make a fighter that wears plate armor and carrys a huge claymore. but you want to be a mage now. as you build up ur magic and cloth armor your warrior skills start to drop. as is with crafting, you decide you wanna be the best crafter in the game and make crazy money. well the more time you spend crafting the more you fighting skills drop.
there are over 500 skills and spells
basically what sets it aside is the fps style true mmo. no more target nearest enemy hit attack 1 or attack 2 you must aim, and if anyones around you they will get hit also.
i'd have to recheck the forums lol but if you need more im sure i can get them to u.
-
Citybuilding sounds interesting but I'm not that impressed. I've heard of MMOs advertising citybuilding before but it ends up being very basic, expensive, and pointless. What you expect is something like Caesar and what you end up with is something like Lego Island.
-
oh these cities are epic, made to be built in extravagant spaces. remember the release is imminent its not a planeshift deal were its stuck in alpha for 5 years =)
-
Comrade, I don't see what's so 'next gen' about this game.
Better listen to them, it's 'next gen' only because they say it is (http://darkfallonline.com/images/heading_features.jpg).
-
fps is a big one. first person shooter. if you swing your sword whatever is in its path gets hit.
Done in Age of Conan.
a concept of an mmo thats skill based. not depended on how long you grind or what gear you have.
So a newbie can kick an oldbie's rear if he has better RL reflexes?
a sandbox world. no instances or zones. no parallel lvling zones that you never return to as you lvl.
cities you build as a clan, complete with npcs. basically everything you get with a traditional mmo city, but it is player run, and cant be taken just as quickly.
Star Wars galaxies has this. Age of Conan has the latter and a bit of the former.
i have yet to see an mmo that combines mainland gaming with a naval aspect.
Closest that I know of for naval stuff would be pirates of the burning sea. But that doesn't have the land aspect.
So this point interests me quite a bit :)
player ran economy/rules.
EVE Online, Star Wars Galaxies, probably some others have player economies.
ever changing skills in game time environment. penalties vs rewards for combining skills. also deteriorating skills ingame time for lack of use. basically say u make a fighter that wears plate armor and carrys a huge claymore. but you want to be a mage now. as you build up ur magic and cloth armor your warrior skills start to drop. as is with crafting, you decide you wanna be the best crafter in the game and make crazy money. well the more time you spend crafting the more you fighting skills drop.
Yeah, this is a nice idea. We'll have to see how the implementation turns out.
-
I like the idea of ships...being a pirate would be kinda cool
Yarrrrr.... :woot:
-
Do none of you know about Voyage Century?
-
Do none of you know about Voyage Century?
Parallo, please tell me. Another good rp game would be nice.
-
Its not an rp game. Its a nautical mmo with fighting on ship and land. Very pretty for being free but no sense of real community at all that I could find. Plus it is a huge download.
-
did u play UO or AC?

Wow? You know I was talking about screenshots, right? You know, those pictures taken ingame that show what the game looks like while you're playing it? Those...internet photos? I'm sure you get the idea by now. >.>
Now, the game WoW, is pretty colorful. I don't like the cartoony graphics that much, but places like Elwynn Forest always keep me hooked. I never liked Shattrath that much, so if I could compare Darkfall to anything, it would be like a giant Shattrath, because the color scheme of it in general is so very dull.
Also, Aion, along with stunning graphics and colorful appeal, is NOT another grind-fest. It's one of the very few games that doesn't believe it's going to be the "next WoW", but instead it takes snippets of different games and improves on them. Aion's max level is 50, and the leveling pace is about the same as WoW's, so before you call a game that you don't know anything about a "typical Korean grindfest", you should look into it some more.

^ Further explanation of what a screenshot is.
(Going to do what Xordan did.)
fps is a big one. first person shooter. if you swing your sword whatever is in its path gets hit.
Ever heard of RYL?
a concept of an mmo thats skill based. not depended on how long you grind or what gear you have.
Takes skill to get the gear, as long as it isn't carebear.
a sandbox world. no instances or zones. no parallel lvling zones that you never return to as you lvl.
So you can spawn and right away get smacked down by a creature with a Godly level compared to yours? Yeah, don't think so. Definitely doesn't sound appealing to new players - which on that note, this game is just coming out - so everyone will be new.
cities you build as a clan, complete with npcs. basically everything you get with a traditional mmo city, but it is player run, and cant be taken just as quickly.
What's the point of that again? Judging by the amount of little kids who want their own clans, I'd say these "cities" will HAVE to be instanced, or else that game will be ridiculously choppy with how much space is taken up.
i have yet to see an mmo that combines mainland gaming with a naval aspect.
It seems almost impossible that this feature will live up to what it says, but the idea itself does seem to be "revolutionary".
player ran economy/rules.
Inflation, trickery, and overall retardation. Unless there's some set basis, leaving this in the hands of the players will result in complete hell, I assure you.
there are over 500 skills and spells
Wait, what do you mean by skill-based? This sounds like buttonmashing.
basically what sets it aside is the fps style true mmo. no more target nearest enemy hit attack 1 or attack 2 you must aim, and if anyones around you they will get hit also.
Once again, RYL. Look it up and play it - it's free, and has much better graphics than this. You'll find most of what you just mentioned in that game alone.
-
Shaman, I searched RYL, and I'm just seeing a bunch of stocks and suicide hotlines...
Well, I researched this Darkfall game, and I must say it looks quite the awesomess.
-
Raa, that's why you use google.
http://www.ryl2.com.my/
I recommend you find a private server if you want to play it, though. For some reason the main game client didn't agree with me when I used to play it.
-
I did use Google.
It looks boring. The gameplay may be okay (doesn't look that great to me), but the graphics look... ick.
Also, I checked out Aion or whatever, and that's pretty much a Korean grindfest. Pretty, though.
-
You'd have to play it. It's somewhat of an old game, but it utilizes most of what was mentioned in this Darkfall game.
-
Oh wow, nautical games look fun to grief.
-
wow ok first lemme say this there are no lvls! there is no HIGH LVL attacking a low lvl to grief. You dont scroll your mouse over them and see their lvl and say oh im going to own. the only visual that someone is lower lvl than you is their armor, and since its full loot i would imagine most wont put on their best gear just to run around pk'ing and killing mobs.. a smart person would save it for raids/sieges/wars.
ok lemme make this simple and do what you guys did.
fps is a big one. first person shooter. if you swing your sword whatever is in its path gets hit.
Done in Age of Conan.
This isnt, Press button one and look at them, Think of pressing down your mouse and timing the swings to hit. AOC did do it, but we wont get into how bad the game failed.
a concept of an mmo thats skill based. not depended on how long you grind or what gear you have.
So a newbie can kick an oldbie's rear if he has better RL reflexes?
Not easily, but if you go head to head with someone the with the same skills as you, Your actual pvp skills will determine the fight. For example in Wow a lvl 70 goes against the same class at same lvl. the one who farmed 6 months for the epic gear will 9 times out of 10 win versus the guy who farmed for 1 month on gear.
a sandbox world. no instances or zones. no parallel lvling zones that you never return to as you lvl.
cities you build as a clan, complete with npcs. basically everything you get with a traditional mmo city, but it is player run, and cant be taken just as quickly.
Star Wars galaxies has this. Age of Conan has the latter and a bit of the former.[/quote
Im not sure but are they actual ran towns, with merchants banks guards and such?
player ran economy/rules.
EVE Online, Star Wars Galaxies, probably some others have player economies.
economies yes... but rules?
I never liked Shattrath that much, so if I could compare Darkfall to anything, it would be like a giant Shattrath, because the color scheme of it in general is so very dull.
i guess if bright colors is what brings you to a game then you got me. the game is dark and gloomy, but it is also designed to run on some of the worst computers in low graphics mode, but still have all the effects they intended such as "a dwarf can hide in the tall wheat grass and not be seen, whether he was in high performance mode or high quality mode. that and wow appeals to young kids fully while this game is ment to be midevil and dark.
Also, Aion, along with stunning graphics and colorful appeal, is NOT another grind-fest. It's one of the very few games that doesn't believe it's going to be the "next WoW", but instead it takes snippets of different games and improves on them. Aion's max level is 50, and the leveling pace is about the same as WoW's, so before you call a game that you don't know anything about a "typical Korean grindfest", you should look into it some more.
you seem to have formed an opinion based on other mmo's. The company has never intended to be the next WoW and to see the game they are making vs. the games blizzard only goes to show they want nothing to do with WoW. be nothing like it. and by solely not budging on the fact that there will be FFA pvp and Full loot shows they are only targeting a "target audience". so that was just silly.
also have you neve rplayed wow? wow is just a grindfest. grind to get max lvl, grind to get best gear, go pvp for about a month or so doing the same bg's over and over, or go gank, then wait till next update to grind somemore.
fps is a big one. first person shooter. if you swing your sword whatever is in its path gets hit.
Ever heard of RYL?
no i hadnt i just looked it up. thank you for finding an fps korean grind game.
a concept of an mmo thats skill based. not depended on how long you grind or what gear you have.
Takes skill to get the gear, as long as it isn't carebear.
do you understand by skill based i mean, there are no levels? you gain skills like everytime you swing a sword the skill will raise.
a sandbox world. no instances or zones. no parallel lvling zones that you never return to as you lvl.
So you can spawn and right away get smacked down by a creature with a Godly level compared to yours? Yeah, don't think so. Definitely doesn't sound appealing to new players - which on that note, this game is just coming out - so everyone will be new.
spoken like a true carebear. sadly no, the start city is very safe. their are guards (you know guards that actually interact) to protect. of course these guards can be killed so one day you might start a game and the battle is raging. otherwise becareful where you bind. dont bind somewhere you might be scared to respawn. not appealing to new players? if you hear anything about this game you hear that it is FFA PvP and full loot. if you join the game and like 'OMG i just got killed and robbed thats bs i quit" then your a moron.
cities you build as a clan, complete with npcs. basically everything you get with a traditional mmo city, but it is player run, and cant be taken just as quickly.
What's the point of that again? Judging by the amount of little kids who want their own clans, I'd say these "cities" will HAVE to be instanced, or else that game will be ridiculously choppy with how much space is taken up.
this is a good question i can answer nicely. there is no world auction. if you want sell things you either do it in your city or stand outside somewhere. only difference is you have a bit more protection in your own city. and when someone finds out a great crafter is in Guild A in his city people will travel there. it will create caravans and a more extensive controlled economy by players. and the world is seamless, no instances, once again the game was made to work well on high and low end computers.
i have yet to see an mmo that combines mainland gaming with a naval aspect.
It seems almost impossible that this feature will live up to what it says, but the idea itself does seem to be "revolutionary".
explain impossible? there are many islands in the game where you can build your city. you use the boats as a merchant or a pirate or transportation. the fact is there will be reason to use the boats. man just think if there was a river in Yliakum that ran thru all the cities and a boat was 50% faster than running. ya that would ridiculous? come one now think about it.
player ran economy/rules.
Inflation, trickery, and overall retardation. Unless there's some set basis, leaving this in the hands of the players will result in complete hell, I assure you.
inflation? ok guild A has a sword for 10gold and guild b has the same sword. He would raise the price? trickery... sure but thats your fault. would you like the game to say "hey man that swords not worth that dont buy it". no wonder you play korean mmo's.
there are over 500 skills and spells
Wait, what do you mean by skill-based? This sounds like buttonmashing.
rofl ya you mash a combination of 500 skills. or do the wow approach and just spam the 2 best. the other 498 are there for looks. by skills i mean in the sense of PS. Sword swinging skill, light armor skill, dagger skill... etc. To cast magic you dont press number 4 you pull out the scroll with the spell on it, aim it at the person and cast it.
basically what sets it aside is the fps style true mmo. no more target nearest enemy hit attack 1 or attack 2 you must aim, and if anyones around you they will get hit also.
Once again, RYL. Look it up and play it - it's free, and has much better graphics than this. You'll find most of what you just mentioned in that game alone.
this game is another korean grind game. fastest lvlers are the ones that pay real money, skills/weapons... resources you can all buy stuff to help you. so this game has no full loot, no ffa pvp, no skill based system, its levels. no naval ships. oh did i mention darkfall has hovercrafts too? darkfall is seamless and the best gear is player crafted.
ONCE AGAIN this game is FFA PVP full loot. there is no game like that. and that is what is setting this game apart.
i am only showing a game that when people rp and feel ultimately their opponents life is in their opponents hands... when a player is griefing you, or just doing alot of talk with no backup. this game cures that. its for the hardcore gamer who wants more excitement than... killing X amount of mobs till you get X lvl so you can get X skill and farm for X armor then decide to go pvp with no fear of consequences. seriously in mmo's today there is no real consequences for dying so people are in a monotone grind forever. i mean theirs things like the death realm but really tahts just aggravating. an extra 10 minutes to get back to where you were.
and shaman... theres life outside of free korean grind games. everyone knows all good mmo's are Pay to play. ps is free but its no where near mmo's you pay for...
-
I have to say you've got the completely wrong idea of roleplaying. I don't see how you consider this (http://www.thenoobcomic.com/index.php?pos=270) to be RP. If I see two players engaged in roleplaying on a game like this then I'm just gonna kill both of their characters.
-
What is the point of this thread? We were informed of a new game, thanks for that, but lets not fight over whether the game is what it claims to be, play it and find out. Feel free to continue discussing, but this thread is bordering on a flame fest, don't let it happen.
-
Good idea. Only it's kind've hard to play a game when it's not even out yet.
-
The combat in this game just sounds like a case of Lowest Ping Wins. Doubt that would be too fun, competing on the basis of who has a better connection to the server.
-

servers are in sync with everyone. there wont be a ping factor.

thats a cute carebear comic, but seriously read before i said, it opens way more rp options.. on the rp server. im guessing the rp your considering is the causual /aol chattroom
-
Sounds like it offers way more griefing options. I'm going to be drive-by-buffing my wrath all over this RP server you speak of.
-
I did some heavy research on this game, and it looks effing awesome... There's real stealth, serious tactics, actual weather that affects gameplay, light reflects off armor and weapons, and you can even accidentally kill your own soldiers if you don't aim your bow well. You actually have to focus and rely on yourself for safety, not some minimap or danger indicator. This thing is going to be epic.
Tux, you can't grief. It's all fair on this game. Your victims will likely respect (or kill) you, roleplayers or not.
-
Oh you'll be able to grief all right, there will always be a way to be more annoying. That's one thing about the PlaneShift community is that you guys don't know how to. I can grief PlaneShift if I really wanted to, but what I am saying is that Darkfall will also be griefable.
-
and how would you grief in planeshift? killsteal? ok thats fun for about 5 minutes. and with the lag on planeshift its a roll of the dice if you get to kill steal. you can talk ooc but that gets stopped pretty fast. you cant pvp unless someone accepts the challenge. sure you can annoy for a little bit but /ignore stops that.
so as a griefer in many mmo's explain how you grief in ps.
-
I already mentioned one way in this thread and I'm not going to waste my time explaining how to outgrief.
-
hey man if you cant do it you cant do it. aint no shame in having no game
-
Haha, look who's talking. Darkfall isn't even out yet.
-
what do you mean? i never claimed i could grief in darkfall.. hell its a game for griefers.
and speaking of griefing.
LOVE LIVE EID!
-
LOVE LIVE EID!
Eid was disruptive. Are you implying you are Eid?
-
rofl i wish. i think of him as a martyr.
he should be able to come back by now, hope he does......
great rper too.
and he wasnt disruptive.. you must not know him. he only did one bad thing =)
-
Oi, cut that out you two, stay on topic. Last warning before I lock this thread, after all, there is little more to be said. I personally, will be giving the game a try when it comes out, for I am curious as to how all the features will be implemented.
-
I myself will probably not.
Wrath of the Lich King came out at midnight.
/me feels like a kid in a candy store.

Darkfall looks very interesting. ShadowBane + EQ + (gasp) PlaneShift. It is in beta right now and you can register and get a chance at being a tester. Has some good implementation of 3rd Ed D&D rules mixed in as well. I have been playing Warcraft, but I am not getting WotLK. WoW is a great game, everything works, endless content, fantastic interface... somehow its just getting to be a yawner for me.

Yeah, WoW has that effect.
Cereally in fact, every game does. Once you play it long enough it gets boring, but something mentally grasps you anyways, so you waste your life on it.
-
Kind of like alcohol, drugs or gambling?
-
I was going to say on with the griefing, but then again it doesn't even look like it will be free to play. Also I still don't understand how this is next generation since I don't see how it is bringing anything new.

Tux, have you not read anything? Research this thing. It is the epitome of epic.
-
I've read the whole thing, it just sounds to me like they're just taking a bunch of things that already exist in other MMOs and throwing them together.
-
So, you've read everything on the internet about this game? Don't rely on just what the site says. Google it some.
-
If the game had something new would the makers not want to tell people about it on their site?
-
I've found more on other sites than on their own site. But those are just reviews/interviews that go deeper into details.

funny they called wow the next gen game... and behold everything in their game was taken from an earlier mmo!
and whoever said wow had endless content.. rofl.. so they need expansions for endless content? the fact that wow has no real endgame content is why they keep making expansions. Get Max lvl get best gear done.

good question, the answer is the fact that many publishers will make demands on a change in the game to appeal to more customers. Adventurine did not want this. Happened to SWG happend to DAOC Wow u name it, vanguard, aoc. the fact that they are finding the right publishers that are more worried about the developers getting what they want than the fans is why they havent signed with blizzard.. mythic etc.
And they dont want to give to many promises to the community before they can actually release the game. Like when i first downloaded PS i found a huge list of features, then when i got in the game i found that 90% were not in the game. made me wanna quit right there.
i dont think you guys understand the fps point of the game, in AOC you only had to look at this person. this you have to swing your sword and time it right with an AOE. that is the biggest new generation of gaming feature. plus yano THE COMPLETE FREEDOM THE GAME GIVES YOU!
you know for some people they have so much faith in this game that wont be finished for 10 years. but they hear about another game thats been in the making for 8 years and suddenly its "lets figure out whats wrong with it" before thinking "wow 8 years to make a video game, i bet its epic"
but yano as i see from some of you you post on the most recent reply and dont go back to look at older post. like this.

If they were smart about it, they'd make an effort and pop it out on consoles as well. Akin to Fable(I/II) or Assassin's Creed but online, and let Sony and MS worry about the server end, respectively. Heck that's what the PS and Xbox are for, FPS. ... And you won't have to type out your flames or try to read theirs with voice chat!
