Title: no characters showing on characters page
Post by: gnomebuddy on November 26, 2008, 05:29:47 am
this is new , and I haven't found a like problem listed in the forums,  since the last sever restart  about an hour ago, I've lost the pictures of my chars on the character screen ( the one after you login) and if I try to log one on any way all I have on load is the start-up region screen and the GUI intermixed, wonder if I should  reinstall or if there is a fix?

That is nothing I heard about before so I don't know a fix. Did you restart your computer between and do all other (3d) programs work correctly?

yes, I tried a restart, and still only loaded the region screen and GUI, tried to /die to see if it would bring up a map change, and since then I even tried a reinstall, all to no avail?? I'll prob try to wipe the files clean and try an install again

Try to reinstall. Also what are your system stats? (OS, graphic card, have you updated your drivers, etc.)

I'm am running a linux box Ubuntu (intrepid) latest version, cpu is a 1.4, mem is at 1 gig, and a older ge-force mmx 440.

all drivers are latest including the nvidia restricted .

I tried a reinstall with orig. config still in the folder, to noavail, then tried a full install, on the full install it worked twice then the problem poped up again, since then I removed the config file reran planeshift and so far It seems to be working

now I have new issues since the upgrade (new post)  ahh, but life goes on, huh  :)
