Title: Trouble with chat commands
Post by: Ilea on November 30, 2008, 10:38:03 pm
Hi,

Even though I've read the player guide I still can't get some of the communication commands to work. For instance, someone will greet me by name. Then I will type /(my character's name) greets (the person who greeted me). However, it comes out that I greet "everyone". The other day someone said "(the character's name) smiles at the cute fenki (which was me)". I couldn't say anything back in first person such as "(my character's name) blushes at (the name of the person who just said that to me)". What am I doing wrong?

Thank you.

If you want to use socials on a specific target, you must be targeting that thing.

Also I know this is unrelated but there is a new /emo command that we'll be using.  We'll no longer be using /laugh, we'll be using /emo laugh.

EDIT:  Looks like that's not in yet.

You can use the /me command which is highly modifiable and great for roleplay. Example:

Code: [Select]
/me smiles at Morla will output "[Char name, e.g. Morla] smiles at Morla"

You can also make shortcuts and write inside something like (use your imagination ;)):
Code: [Select]
/me smiles at $target which will output "[Char name] smiles at [what or whoever you have currently targeted).
