Title: Lost sounds in last update

hello everyone,

since the last update I have no soudns at all, I am not even sure if I should place the post here since it seems to be related to the load of game too, each time I log in the master volume is always set to 0, I enter options and put it to max then enter again, and again is set to 0, even if I raise the the master volume the game doesn't make any sounds at all

I first updated and got the problem, later I downloaded the new version and the trouble persists, however I noticed that when I run the pssetup.exe all the old info is still there (in example the window size)

Any clue on how to fix this trouble, game is not the same without those melodies as I walk around  :whistling:

PS: I am using windows XP and of course there's nothing wrong with audio, it works fine

Thanks Caarrie it worked for me, at least for now melodies are back  \\o//

This little tip worked for me too.  :thumbup:


Just installed PS on my new comp and didn't get sound, at first I thought it was some vista issue until I found this nice little thread :)

I have the same problem with Mac OS X 10.5.6, 2.4 GHz aluminum iMac. The fix works for me too, though.

unless there are major changes from 10.5.5 that should not be needed.

Can one of you please post the exact fix? I can't follow the link (I think it might have been changed) and I can't find it on flypaper either. : /

http://planeshift.caarrie.org/Utilities.html download the first app on that page and run the 10.3.9 sound fix. given you are on a mac it will do this fix though i dont see why you would need it.

Nah, I moved to a Windows so I could play. It wasn't working on either of the macs I tried... : / Does the fix work for Windows as well?
