Title: The Adventure to Kadaikos
Post by: whitti on January 31, 2002, 04:27:22 am
whitti stands in the plaza near the Temple of Laanx, sipping ale, bought a few minutes back at \'The Whitican\' pub. He was ready for adventure, waiting for others who will adventure with him to the Leendary Kadaikos!

whitti, wears a red cloak and hood, covering his face. on his back is a quiver of the finest arrows, supposedly cut before the Dermorians reached Yliakum, in Dermoria itslef. He is a Dermorian (land) elf. He also wears a finly, home made bow and many name him a Master Marksman.

At his belt whitti wears \'Blanche\', his white, shining sword. He also wears light dragon scale armor

he asks the crowd \"Will you join the quest?\"

Toru walks up calmy to witti saying, \"I will join you, to whatever end\".

While Toru slips his small mysterious blade on his belt a small dart whistles by his ear.

\"This won\'t be a easy quest will it?\" Toru tells whitti.

Wearing a simple cloak, but underneath is an armor made from the metal Dentheon.  Created from the song of the wind, and breath from the trees.

Tougher than dragon skin, more valuable than dragon blood.

\"I shall join your quest gentlemen\", said Bill.

Bill was covered in a brown robe. It flowed just below his ankles, and the hood covered his face. A long sword was sticking out from his waist on his left. On the hilt were the words \"Khrash Donaka Fobrier Donai\" which is dwarven for \"Live Forever, Die Never\". He is short because he is dwarven, and when he lifts his head you see a small brown beard and short brown hair.

\"I await a new adventure, I know much information for I had read many texts from the Jayose Library\", he says.

As you are speaking a soft but firm voice makes itself known speaking in the common tounge a young Dermorian elf garbed in sleek black stalking leathers that seem to bear some insignia that as your eyes look at it you just cant seem to make out.His suede long frost white boots rustle faintly upon the cobble stones. He appears to be around 5\'11 slightly tanned on his left thigh that is clothed in sleek black oilcloth breeches you can discern a thigh sheath that appears to hold a stiletto across his back a thick but light black greatcloak with frost white edging barely conceals a white handle of some sort of sword that is piece notted into an ornate silver scabbard.
He says\"My name is Lenric\" as he looks at each in turn he seems to look withen you searchingly.
\"what is it you people have in my mind ?\"His blondish hair blows stray wisps of hair from what is not gathered in his pony tail in the slight wind.
curiously he seems to keep looking behind and around as if expecting more arrivals.

Suddenly, a Klyros with steel blue skin steps out of the crowd.
\"My name is Larien, and I too would like to undertake this quest.\"

Larien is dressed in a flowing black cloak and strong leather boots. A Falchion sword juts out of his waist. His voice is low and muscial, and he moves with a graceful ease. His two big wings flutter lightly in the breeze.
When he looks up, you see a diagonal scar on his forehead: one that symbolises intelligence, wisdom and godlike power. His eyes are a pale green, cold and unfeeling, yet beneath the twin pools of ice, an unholy fire burns.....

Post by: Bill on February 01, 2002, 05:47:37 am
It is 2:00 A.M. and Bill is asleep in his bed. A pounding at the front door of the inn awakens him. He slowly gets out of bed and grips the hilt of his sword. He moves slowly to the window groggy and rubbing his eyes. He puts his hand on the window shade and hears the pounding again. He slowly pears out and sees 3 black horses, with riders in black robes, long, silver blades dangling at their sides, pounding at the door. Finally, the one pounding at the door turns to the two others. Bill lifts his window up and tries to listen to the language, but it sounds like gibberish to him. Suddenly, the door opens. The first cloaked figure does quickly moves his hand to his sword, unsheathes it, and kills whoever it was standing at the opening of the inn.

Bill stares wide eyed. He laces his hilt around his waist, and slips on an over shirt and bursts out his door. He quickly wakes the others and hurries them to his room. He goes to a corner and pulls out a floor board. \"Get in, stay quiet\", he says. Some are dazed and tired but he tells them to stay quiet, and they do so. They crawl under the floor, and Bill pulls the board back into place. He tells them to spread out and hurries to a corner. Two swords, a dagger, and an axe in the corner. He hands them to his friends, they ask why he had them there, and he says he suspected spies after a drunkard was talking to a few burly looking men and his eyes were darting from the men to them and back several times.

They spread out and stay quiet. They hear footsteps in the hallway. The gibberish is heard again, and they hear swords stabbing into something, then they hear them sliding their swords back in the hilts of the mysterious hooded figures.

Bill moves to a crack in the floor just as the door busts open. The figures come in and look around. They speak gibberish, and then they shriek. The others and Bill can hear the sound of the swords being pulled out of their hilts. They raise their swords above their heads and begin stabbing the floor.

They are all startled, and one sword cuts off a hair from Whitti\'s head. The others roll around furiously dogging the blades. The hooded figures obviously heard them because a hand cracked threw the floor and the others looked at it. Bill was about to slice it off but the hand cuffed and went back up, pulling off a board. A foot swung down kicking other boards away. Bill signaled to the others and they all pushed up and broke the floor. The hooded figures acted immediatly and tried to kill them.

Larien swings his axe and cuts off two fingers of one of the figures. Bill swings his sword around and tells the others to go. He ran after them and down the stairs. They were close to the door but suddenly a few more figures burst threw the door. They turned back but the other figures were starting down the stairs. The group turned back down stairs and ran to their right avoiding the newly arived figures. There was a window behind the bar, and as they were running towards it arrows shot threw the air. They lept over the counter and took cover. Whitti threw his sword threw the window and lept out followed by the others. Whitti picked up his blade, and the others ran to thiers horses who were tied up around back. They cut their ropes off and jumped onto them and they sped off. As they rode off Bill looked back, and he saw the black figures on their horses and were galloping toward them.
Title: THUD.... badump badump badump (horse sounds)
Post by: Toru on February 01, 2002, 06:22:19 am
Hearing the hoofs of many horses, Toru runs calmly around the edge of the inn.  Watching his fellow friends Bill, Whitti and many more galloping away from Black Riders; I quickly throw my short blade at the split chance he gets.  As the cloaked rider falls, Toru hopes to have done a good thing.  Toru walks over to the fallen rider and points a short sword near his chest asking who he was, and where he was from...

Later today Toru was thinking... what happened... how could it be...?
(OOC: Character Switch)
As I review the facts if what happened I become totally confused.  The cloaked rider fell of his horse and just seemed to disappear...  He might have become one with the earth.

(OOC: Character Switch)

As Toru runs over to the fields looking for his horse, he sends a call and the horse springs out from behind a row of trees.  As he jumps on his horse he watched as Bill rides through town, and Toru quickly follows.

(OOC: Character Switch)

What is going on? I must follow Bill....

..................................Toru rides on to find Bill and Whitti, hoping they were still all right. \"Hmmm I can\'t forget about Larien either\" Toru silently thought..............

OOC: Did you even read my post? The riders talk in an unknown language and you,me,Whitti,Dwinney, and Lenric are all together on the horses attempting to escape the cloaked horsemen.

OOC: So we just ignore Toru\'s post and go on with the story?
BTW, Larien is a fighter who dabbles in magic, how about your characters?

OOC: keep with it! we can continue with us all together on horses, charging from the riders.

*Whitti urges his horse forward, as he pulls his hood up. He then focus\'s behind, on the leader of the black horseman, who wore a red stripe on his arm. He forced thoughts out of his head and focused solely on the head of the rider

*The arrow flew, with a quiet whistle and thudded into the head (or where the head should be) of the rider. The clothes landed on the ground, but no body...

ooc:Yeah, sorry Toru. And I am a simple person, hence my cloak, and a very good fighter.

The horsemen grew closer and closer to the crusaders who strugled furiously to escape. They flanked on either side of the team, and two took the rear. Larien kept ducking to avoid swipes of one of the horseman\'s sword. He pointed his index finger at the horseman and muttered \"Dareem Cotrafus!\" and a green spark shot out of his finger and hit the horseman who flew shrieking like a hundred dieing cats and tumbled on the ground as it landed.

Bill and Whitti rode next to each other, Whitti holding his dagger, and Bill holding his dwarven blade. Whitti acted as if the rider next to him wasn\'t there but suddenly turned drastically and Whitti\'s horse and the cloaked horseman\'s horse touched. Whitti raised his dagger and stuck it into the head of the creature. It screamed and grabbed his hand and lifted him off his horse. Whitti\'s horse quickly galloped away from the conumdrum, and Whitti was being held by his wrist with the blade of the horseman going even closer to his neck. The horseman holding Whitti stopped, and placed the sword next to his neck, but the other riders rode on with the other two horsemen in hot pursuit of them.

Bill lept off his horse and tumbled onto the horsemen and stabbed it furiously until it did not move. He turned away, until he heard the slight shiver of the blade being pulled out of its hilt. Bill sprang forward and fell on his stomach as a blade was thrusted in the air, barely missing him. He twirled around on the soft grass and tripped the cloaked figure. Bill sprang up, and so did the figure, both sword\'s landing right next to each other\'s necks.

\"What are you...\", Bill said. \"We are the Daktreme, guardians of Kadaikos, we have heard of your journey. You shall not come, for the emporer does not like uninvited guests\", a voice hissed. Bill\'s eyes turned in slits as dust rose from the ground and hovered around the two timid warriors. \"Who is this emporer you speak of\", asks Bill. \"How dare you pronounce your idiocy! The emporer Ka-Ching-Nata is known threwout the levels, and to not know this information is a sin, and for this you shall die\", hissed the voice again. Bill muttered, \"I understand\", and suddenly decapitated the Daktreme.

Bill\'s horse was scrambling in circles, so he went and calmed him. Bill climbed on and galloped over to assist Whitti.

Larien, on the other hand, was fiercely battling another black horseman who had seemed to appear out of nowhere. He was particularly skilful, and even Larien, who had been trained since birth in the art of fighting, had trouble keeping up.

Suddenly, with a graceful swipe, the horseman tore Larien\'s cloak and sliced cleanly a gash in his left arm.

The fire residing in Larien\'s eyes came to life. As the rider drew close, he muttered something intelligible, summoned his inner Chi to his hand, and fired! The energy burst forth, knocking the horseman to the ground.

The battle was over, and Larien jumped off his horse to inspect the bodiless rider\'s clothes.......

(OOC: oops, I didn\'t catch that I was there too; but I did read your story)

As Toru was riding on his new horse, he felt the horse\'s mane and found a small ruby. \"What could this be?\" he exclamed... At the same instant a black rider came behind him with a dagger screaming something about Ka-Ching-Nata, and his family.  Before the dagger came slicing through Toru, he thought how many things like these there are out there.

The dagger came at Toru... stabbing through his cloak and into his side... but the clock was the only thing that ripped, and the dagger seemed to melt on Toru\'s armor.
Toru then thrust his small sword into the black rider and pulled off his cloak to see the riders underneath.  But only one thing he saw... another small ruby, seeming to fit perfectly with the one that was found in his horses mane.

\"What could this be?\" he thought, \"I must go help the others\"

As I galloped toward Whitti I could see Toru in the distance, also coming to his aid. I could almost see Whitti but I was unsure. I went to Toru and told him of Whitti and he said he must join me too, and then we would go find Larien.

A sudden gust of wind spooked our horses, making them jump and we were whipped off the steeds. The wind blew dust from all around, and then the dust slowly took form. A man in a long, green robe with an even longer gray beard appeared. He lifted his head and eyed both of the warriors. \"Give me the rubies Toru\", said the mysterious man. \"What? How do you know of the rubies, and my name\", asked Toru. \"I know more than you could ever imagine\", replied the man. \"Quickly, give me the rubies and run\", shouted the old man, unsheathing his sword. \"But-\", said Toru but was cut off by the old man\'s quivering eyes, and the shaking hand that was holding the blade. The man lifted his finger tips and said, \"Troupata Nareme\", and the horses calmed and went to the sides of their masters. \"You must trust me Toru, they want you, for you are the key. Your friends are your only protection, keep them close, and ride swift and a gruesome fate I have fortold will not be\", said the man, sweat now trickling from his face. \"Give them to him now Larien\", shouted Bill. \"We may not be able to trust him fully, but I think we can trust him more than them\", he said, his finger pointing at 20 cloaked riders coming into view.

Toru gave the man the rubies and mounted his horse. \"Bill, cover your blade in this\", said the man. Bill grasped a yellow, laced bag and saw green powder inside. He did not wait, and pulled out his sword and poured the powder on it. \"It will glow green when they are near\", he said. Bill mounted his horse and they rode away. \"Whitti is in good care, do not worry\", said a voice from inside Bill\'s head, which sounded just like the old man\'s voice.

The cloaked horsemen grew nearer, and Bill\'s sword glowed bright.

*Whitti\'s head was stiff, so were his other body parts. He tryed to lift it but could not.

Then above, staring at him was an old human. whitti\'s pointed elven ears tweaked up, and the man started talking:

\"Hello, I am Edo Amionus. You felt the hand of one of the Daktreme, You are lucky you survived as you did! I am a Yilir, we only operate in secret here. On the surface we were the healers and high magicians.\"

\"When will my aches leave?\", whitti asked urgently.

\"Your friends have left, pursued by the riders, you must stay, at least a week for the wounds to cure.\", Edo told him.

*whitti suddenly felt a firey urge within him, to follow and revenge.

\"I can feel what you think son of Aldonis.\"

\"but, but, but that is my father...\"

\"Silence child, I am a Yilir, I know, do not doubt me!\"

OOC: Do not interfere with this...ok? You guys do your story of getting to Kadakios and I will make up a way for whitti to join you.

ooc: Sorry about before Whitti, I will stop now.

As we rode on, the plains became very hilly. Bill had an idea, and signaled to the others to follow his movements. He crouched on his horse and suddenly flung himself off and rolled down the grassy hill. The others did so also and then hid under the roots of a large tree. A Daktreme got off its horse and pulled out a dagger. It jumped forward, landing right infront of the tree. Its back was towards Bill and Toru. It walked slowly, gripping its dagger tightly. Suddely, a green shot of energy came forth and blew up the Daktreme. Larien jumped forth and inspected the body. Toru grabbed Larien and pulled him under the tree.

More Daktreme came and lept over the tree with their horses and did not see the three warriors. They got up quickly and ran until they saw the Derinian Mountain, over 35 miles high. They climbed the mountain about 5 miles up and then hid in a cave.

\"What now\", asked Toru. \"I am not sure. Where is Whitti\", asked Larien. \"A....friend has taken him, we know not of where he has gone or how he is doing\", answered Bill. \"But Whitti will be alright, no harm will be done to him, correct?\", asked Larien. \"Exactly\", answered Bill. \"Well...what do we do now then?\", asked Larien. \"I think we should go, go to Kadaikos\", said Toru. \"Why?\", asked Larien. \"Our friend told me that I am the key, that the Daktreme, the cloaked riders, are after me, and after all of us for apparently insulting their empire\", said Toru. \"But they seem to be trying hard to capture me, which means I might be important, that is why we must go to Kadaikos\", says Toru. \"Ok\", said Larien. \"Oh no\", muttered Bill. He was looking over the edge of the mountain side, and several Daktreme or scaling the mountain.

Larien ruffled his wings and took to the skies. Night was soon approaching.
Flying close to the mountain, he saw dozens of Daktreme, galloping up it with ease. But they were not the same as those they had just fought. They were different, somehow. Then he knew why.
A yellow band was tied around each of their wrists, and with startling suddeness he remembered what his grandfather had told him on his deathbed.

\"Ele deted itefi Daktreme\"

Those words, he had thought they were just senseless rambling then. He should\'ve known better.... But that was not the point. The words told of an unimaginable terror, one that he had to keep from his friends, at all costs.....

Larien flew back. \"What did you see? Bill asked gruffly.
\"The Daktreme.....they\'re coming to attack. They have nightvision, and are far too large in number. We have no chance of winning.\" Larien related.
Silence, as everyone digested this piece of news.
\"We can only escape.\" he said again, tersely. And without a second word, he galloped off.
Some part of him felt remorse about leaving his friends behind, but he had too much on his mind.......

ooc: The meaning of the words Larien\'s grandfather said shall be revealed later on. Larien did not really leave his friends, just went on ahead without them, trusting that they would follow.

ooc:1. I just noticed, Lenric said he would join the adventure, but he isn\'t in? Why? ?(

2. And can we have short term/temporary characters? Like if we go to Kada\'s BBB to stay for a night, do we act her part out or send her a PM to let her join the story?

3. Are Larien, Bill, Toru and Whitti the finalised main characters? Or will we be able to meet other people along the way?

4. Can this adventure be altered a little and then \"published\" in the beta/final version of the game as a book? Maybe even as part of Jayose Library? :D  8)

5. Toru, what is your race and what are you good at (figher, mage, priest, druid etc.)?

OOC:
1. Well he hasn\'t talked at all, so at the moment he is not in. If he replies later then I can use an extra trick to get him in with us and be just as big a part in the story.

2. Sure

3. Yes, and yes.

4. That\'d be awesome!  :D

5. Not sure.

END OOC

As Larien flew upward, I signaled to Toru to follow. We were too high to attempt some sort of drop into safety from the mountain side, so we had no other choice than to climb. For 14 long hours we used every bit of our strength to climb as high as we could. At the end of the fourteenth hour we ended up on a cliff about a quarter of a mile away from the summit. Toru and Larien went into the cliff for rest, but I stayed at the edge to watch for Daktreme. I inspected the cliff side, searching for the them. They weren\'t behind us, and to tell from there determination earlier, they should have been only a minute or so behind them. But they were no where in sight. I smiled, which was very hard in the freezing tempatures of the mountain, and now I could rest.

I turned around around and walked slowly back into the cave. I could not pick up my feet so I went slowly, trudging threw thick snow, back to the cave. As I was walking I heard a sound. It was a clinging sound, such as that of a smith working with metal on an anvil. I looked up, and all I could see was the whirring snow, until I looked at the summit. Tons of ice was right at the edge of the cliff, directly above me. Behind the snow were large, frozen, ice boulders. I looked closer, and I could see the clinging noise was that of the swords of the Daktreme trying to pushing the snow down the mountain. I ran as fast as I could inside the cavern, and told Toru and Larien of the Daktreme.

\"Lets go, now! We must get to Kadaikos, and the mountain pathes are the only way!\", shouted Toru. Bill eyed Larien, and shook his head. \"Lets go\", said Bill. They got up, but just then an avalanche consumed the side of the mountain, and quickly consumed the opening of the cave. \"No!\", said Toru, \"We must get to Kadaikos, to find my true meaning, and to help the citizens of Kadaikos!\" \"Help them?\", asked Larien, \"Why do they need help?\" \"The Daktreme are the soldiers of Ka-Ching-Nata, who is not the rightful emporer of Kadaikos. Ka-Ching-Nata has killed Dorian, the original emporer and covered it up in secrets and lies. He now rules the empire with an iron fist, and it seems he knows of our adventure\", said Toru. \"How did you know that?\", asked Larien. \"I do not know\", answered Toru.

\"Come, the avalanche has opened a pathway. If we follow it, it might lead us threw the mountain and back on the path\", said Bill. The threw got up, put on their weapons, and set off down the path. A sudden chink in the ice wall covering the cave startled the adventures. Not to their surprise, it was the sword of a Daktreme.

\"Quick! Bill, do you have any green powder left?\". Toru said.  Bill quickly threw the bag over to Toru, Toru then poured a bit on the sword that stuck through the ice.
As Larien, Bill, and Toru, heared a sharp screeching sound, Bill said not to touch the sword.  We ran through the open way and a Daktreme seemed to fall ino our path, followed by two more.

Larien noticed a small blue aora around the three daktreme\'s.  \"They are illusions!\" Larien yelled, as he shot an arrow right through them.  We ran on while more dropped into our path, \"run!!\" Bill yelled.  Larien turned around and shot another two arrows and they seemed to make the daktreme\'d bigger.  \"If you see a yellow braclelet than they grow whenever magic hits them\" Toru yelled.  Larien notices a bit of green powder on his bow, \"then neither my bow, nor Bill\'s sword will do any damage!\" Larien said.  \"No, they still get hurt but they grow bigger, not stronger\" Bill says.  \"Faster! they are catc...\" Toru yelled as he fell through the snow.
Bill then also falls through the invisible hole in the ground with Larien.

Bill quickly stuck his sword hilt into the ground and watched a daktreme fall through the whole onto the sword.  \"Haha\" Bill Laughed heartly, \"good idea Bill\" Toru replied to while the body dissapeared and only the cloak was left.

\"What now?\" larien asked while he watched another daktreme fall through and onto the sword.  This one had a yellow bracelet and grew bigger then disappeared leaving just a cloak.  Toru then sighed.

(OOC: I\'m not sure about my character, lets let the story unravel itself and we\'ll see what I am.  And I am not an all out fighter/martial art type of character)

(OOC: The story going to be on Planeshift! Great!, and lets PM Lanric)

(OOC: from here on is my new edit, and I am putting a NPC in the story\")

\"These must be the underground paths to Kadaikos\", Larien says, \"Hmm, yes seems so\" Bill answers.  At that moment something moved in the darkness.  Larien bravely says \"Hynam yin ghanim!\", and a pale light come\'s from the tip of his arrow.  \"Who are you?\", Bill then sternly said.  Toru says, \"I saw him following us, but I didn\'t know he went with us into the mountains\".
\"I didn\'t follow you into the mountains, though I did follow you in the air, when I saw you heading to the invisible pits I came down here my self to continue following you\" the thing said.  \"The underground pits?\" Toru questioned, \"yes that is what we fell into I am guessing\" said Bill.  \"Well what shall we do about this thing?\" Larien exclamed.  \"I beleive we can trust him\" Bill said, \"Yes\" Toru replied.

(OOC: someone else contintue with the thing... I need to go)

I think ill setup a IRC channel along side the Fans channel on games.net that can be used as a MFFORPG for your typical free form RPG, that we can start realtime RPG\'s in... the logs from that can then be either posted or rewritten into a story to be posted on the boards here...

OOC: Awesome, and Toru I was just saying it would be awesome to have this story in the library, not that it is in the library. Anyways, one other thing. You said the person following us fly in or something? I do not understand this exactly, but I have an idea that will make that statement true (because he is not Klyros, right?) and make the person interesting.

The man just sat there, staring with his yellow eyes at each one of us inspecting every nook and cranny as if a beady-eyed, and hungry rat looking for food. He was a Lemur, but you could tell he was not entirely Lemurian. He wore a dark, brown trench coat that hung to his knees, and he had little shoes made of wood and string. He wore a a tiny, and flimsy piece of metal on his head for either a hat or helmet. \"My name is Dar...ummm Kifi\", said the man. \"I think I know why you have come. Please, follow me.\"

Kifi waved his arm for the others to follow, and he led them down a dark path. He put out his palm and said \"Daroom\" and a fire ball appeared in his hand. \"Ummm...Kifi was it? Yes, well, I don\'t think we should use a fire ball, because its going to melt the ice\", said Larien. Kifi chuckled. \"This fire ball isn\'t to give us light, I can see in the dark, its for the troll\", he said. \"For the wh-\", said Larien but was cut off by Kifi\'s shushing. As they went farther down the tunnel, there was a small opening. In it, were pillars lining the walls of the square room. On the floor was a large, metal trap door. Behind that was a wooden ladder, leading to a small wooden door. Kifi instructed the others to get behind the pillars closest to them, and for Larien to ready his bow, and Bill to ready his blade, and for Toru to ready his new axe he found made of fine metal on the ground, next to a corpse.

Kifi consentrated and closed his eyes. The fire ball grew bigger, and suddenly rolled up and turned into a long fire wire like in the shape of a serpent. After more time the tip of the fire slowly formed to an arrow, and the back had firey feathers attached. It had become a fire arrow, something that Larien heard of was only makeable by either fine Lemur mages, or the emporers because they were taught to make them for safety. Larien readied his bow at the door on the floor, and Bill tightened his grip, but Toru was still inspecting his axe which he had decided to lovingly dub \"Rosseta\".

Kifi, lifting his hand that was holding the arrow, opened his eyes, and thrust the magnificent arrow at the lock on the door. There came a creaking noise, and the door slowly lifted. Four gigantic fingers appeared, holding the door. It started to close gently again. Then suddenly the hand ripped off the door, and a giant cave troll climbed from the hole and into the room. In its hand was a mace made of steel, plus it was the size of 4 pterosaurs. Its green body shimered in the faint light lit by the sconces on the walls. Chains were hooked to its hands, but they apparently hadn\'t restrained it. Bill looked at Kifi, and Kifi smiled. \"A obstacle must be over come for the true answers to be revealed\", said Kifi, and he vanished with a flurry of purple dust where he stood. Bill gripped his blade with fury, but then realised what Kifi mean\'t and understood what he must do.

Bill told Larien to steady his bow at the head of the troll. Bill grabbed a rock and threw it at the opposite wall of the room. Larien grabbed two more arrows out of his quiver making it a total of three arrows to shoot at once, this was a sure way to take a troll down. He instructed Larien to fire on his signal. The troll was looking for whatever made the sound and was distracted. Bill waved his hand and lept into the air. Larien shot the arrows, one went straight into its head, and the others into its back and threw its ear. Bill landed on the troll and began furiously stabbing the beast. Toru flung his mighty axe into the leg of the troll, making it fall over. Toru lept off the ledge and onto the ground floor and took the axe. He cut hard into the leg until he completely took it off. The troll swung his arm, and knocked Toru into the wall. Bill was still stabbing the troll, but it got Bill\'s leg and hung him upside down, making him drop his sword. He troll lowered Bill to his mouth and let out a mighty roar.

Suddenly two arrows sped at the speed of light straight into the trolls left eye. It fell over, dropping Bill, and covered its bloody eye screaming in pain. Bill quickly seized his sword and slit the throat of the troll, and finally stabbed it in the chest just in case. Larien woke Toru up and handed him Rosseta. The three climbed the ladder and opened the door.

They seemed to be in some back room of sorts. They could hear chattering just outside the door. They opened the door, and to their surprise, found themselves in \"Kada-El\'s Busty Barmaids Bar\". They saw Kifi sitting on one of the stools and he was nervously talking to Kada-El, who seemed to look surprised by the information she has has just been told by Kifi. Kifi quickly realised the adventurers were ok, smiled, and waved them over. \"Four ales please Kada\", said Kifi. Kada smiled at the adventurers and handed them their drinks. \"Come\", said Kifi, \"Follow me to this table over here\", he said and led them to a corner table. \"I believe it is time for some explanations\", said Kifi. \"That is sure what we need after this huge adventure that made no sense what-so-ever, and what was with you leaving us with the Troll\", asked Toru angrily. \"That was a simple test Toru to see if you are the ones we are looking for. Trust me, that was the least of your worries\", said Kifi.

\"It all started a long time ago\", said Kifi, \"long before Kadaikos was a simple home to Lemurs. Long ago the Klyros lived in a sort of floating world above a large island. They lived in peace and studied, trained, and so on. One day a group of adventuring Klyros decided to look for other citadels like their own to ally with. After searching they found nothing, but did find a city in peril. It was a fairly large village filled with Lemurs. An evil dark lord known as Dakron used his powers to posses Diaboli who would then do the dark lord\'s dirty work. The Klyros quickly called to the others and they rescued the Lemurs and took them to the Island. The Klyros built their life back again, and the Lemurs were thankful. The Klyros later helped some dwarves, but most of the dwarves left after they found a tunnel leading under the Island, under water, and to a coal filled mine. But some dwarves did stay, like your anscestor Bill. And the Klyros who found the Lemurs was your anscestor, Larien. Later Demorians allied with the Klyros and they became very close friends. One time a Lemur and a Demorian were married. Their son was your father Toru. That son was the ruler of Kadaikos, the Island. That son, is me\".

\"What!\", yelled Toru. \"Quiet, shh. Ever since I became ruler, Dakron was furious. He hated inter-breeds and decided to make me pay for who I am. So he murderer your mother and kidnapped you. I searched for 7 long years for you. I never found you and feard the worst. But then I heard you, and the decendants of our wise and cunning men were helping you. And so did the son of Dakron, Ka-Ching-Nata. He is more stronger now, and he wants you dead Toru.  Toru, do you still have the birth mark on your left hand\", asked Kifi. \"Yes\", answered Toru in astonishment of the words he had just heard. \"If you place that at the sacred ruins of Kadaikos, the holy power of Laanx will be unleashed. The power healed the lives of the Lemurs threw out their time their. But when Ka-Ching-Nata was coming, they built a special vault for it. Only those with that mark can open it, and retrieve the power to destroy Ka-Ching-Nata. I was the last person alive with the mark, or so I thought, so I fled the Island. But Ka-Ching-Nata found me, I hid as long as I could and used a dagger to scratch out the birthmark as much as I could. It hurt so much, but I was helping Kadaikos. He announced I was dead, but he was too embarrased to tell the truth that I had evaded him\", said Kifi, who laughed a bit and sipped his ale.

\"That means you are not Kifi then, correct?\", asked Bill. Kifi smirked. \"You seem to have the cunningness of George, your ancestor. You are correct, I made this name just in case you were Daktreme in disguise. I am Dorian, ruler of Kadaikos\", he said. \"Well that explains a whole lot\", said Toru. \"I have some reservations for rooms tonight, and Kada has extra security to help us. She is a good friend of mine whom I will always trust. Lets get a good rest tonight, for we have a long journey tomorrow\", said Dorian who now sipped the last few drops out of his mug before licking his lips clean of any left over ale and retiring to bed.

(ooc: there are dark elves in this story? ?( )

In the middle of the night, unable to fall asleep, Larien got up and headed to the balcony. He stood there a long, long time, staring at the stars, as if admiring their beauty and splendour. Finally, an hour later, he turned and walked away. He had made up his mind.

The next morning, when the others woke for breakfast, they found that Larien was already up. He was dressed in his usual black cloak, and the bow and Falchion sword were sheathed by his side. As the others approached, he glanced up and nodded briefly in acknowledgment.

Toru and Bill took places beside him, while Dorian sat directly opposite. In the middle of the meal, Larien spoke up suddenly.

\"I\'ve been thinking. What Kifi said yesterday.....\" his voice dropped to a whisper. \"Ele deted itefi Daktreme, the words my grandfather said before he died.\" Larien paused, as if uncertain.
\"....in the language of the Klyros, victory. Victory through Sacrifice.\"

Kifi smiled coyly. \"Oh, yes. Exeter, your ancestor, was quite a prophet. I was wondering when you\'d say that...\"

The rest of the group listened in stunned silence.

(ooc: I\'m thinking that even if a person dies during battle, we can think of someway to revive him or something.......)

(OOC:where did the dark elves come from? I am sooo confused... and larien ...  :) ... :) ... :) .. lol now we can die and not worry about a thing! hehe)

Toru looks around, \"I smell something strange here\", he exclames as he leaps out of his chair.  Bill and larien quickly get up also.  \"Haha, that\'s just what I was cooking, haha\" Darien says.

At that moment the gaint troll jumps in front of us, startling Toru and Larien as they stumble; almost falling down.  Larien strings three arrows and shoots the Troll as it swung Toru aside.  Hitting it in it\'s neck and forehead, the Troll falls down.  \"Increadible!\" Bill exclames as he watched the troll as it layed there.

\"What happened?\" Larien exclames, \" didn\'t we kill it?\".  \"There are many in these parts\" Darien says, \"and don\'t worry, you took this one down easily\".  At that moment Bill was try to lift up Toru, \"Hey! Toru!... uh oh, did you say not to worry about something Darien?\" Bill tells Darien.  At that moment Toru startles and gets up, while Larien watched the Troll get up also.  Toru then said \"Dwinshij ehl gundim!\" and the troll was lifted off the ground with a black and purple aura and thrown down the cliff.

\"Why\'d you do that?\" Bill says. \"The Enemy will find us now!\" Larien follows.  \"I, I didn\'t mean to, somehow I felt powerful, maybe the rubies have increased my magical power?\" Toru says.  \"BUt you don\'t have them anymore!?\" Bill exclames.  \"What rubies?\" Larien says.
Bill and Toru turn around and look at Larien and explain the two rubies found ealier.  \"Hmm, must be 2 of the eight stones that are said to bring back peace throughout the land... but no... it\'s not possible.\" Larien says.  \"You couldn\'t have found one on a horse... unless.. I must think!\" Larien then leaves the area and walks over to the balcony looking down below at where the Troll was, but it seemed to have rolled off so far that it was seen no more.

OOC: WTF?!

The troll is dead, so no more troll. Besides, it was hidden in a trap door at the floor of a large room that was in a locked door that was opened by Toru,Larien, and Bill. The door led to the back room of Kada-El\'s bar. Its a bar, so why would Dorian be cooking anything? Its not his place, so he is gonna be eating some local finger foods or drinking some sort of ale. Toru found the jewels, met up with me, and then gave the jewels to the old man.

Any chance we can start over, because I worked pretty hard on that last part and your parts made the story all strange and sort of didn\'t make sense...

If anyone is getting either annoyed of my long parts, taking other people\'s parts, or just pissing you off, tell me so I can know if I should end my part in this story, it would be fairly easy to do if that is what yall want.
Title:

OOC: Whoa! No, Bill I\'m sure we don\'t want you to end your part in the story.
Sorry if my part sucks, but I only wanted to have someone die as a sort of twist in the story, as I said we could add some scientific nonsense to revive the dead character. I just thought it would add a certain romanctism by letting one character die, then reviving him. If you dont want that, I can always take it off........

(the dying part, if you want, could be at the near end of the story, when we\'re fighting the major enemy, the Ka-Ching-Nata or something.)

OOC:[EDIT] Whoah, hope you did not read what I just said Dwinney, because for some reason I said your post sucked, and it didn\'t. Ok well, I was sorta talking about Toru\'s post. It sorta screwed things up.

OOC: I did not mean to offend you, I was just saying that you are unaware of some of the things.

If you had read what we all have written, you would know that evil elves are not the problem, and that that has nothing to do with the whole problem. The problem is the emporer Ka-Ching-Nata of Kadaikos who is mistreating his people. He is also in search of \"Laanx\'s Power\" which was locked in a secluded vault that can only be opened with a certain mark that happens to be on Toru\'s hand. Its on his hand because Dorian, his father, over saw the making of(and was the actual emporer until Ka-Ching-Nata) the vault until Ka-Ching-Nata tried to kill him. He used a blade so scratch the mark off (not as in using water to take off a temp. tattoo, its as in ripping your skin off to not let them get the key). Ka-Ching-Nata never found him but said he was dead. Dorian has now met with Toru, myself, and Larien (or Dwinney). We need the power of Laanx to destroy Ka-Ching-Nata and bring peace to the kingdom of Kadaikos, and Toru is a vital key to this because he is the last person with the mark since his father was forced to get rid of his \"key\".

Whitti was hurt during the horse race at the beginning of the story, and an old man took him in. Whitti said he would do his own tale. You can join us saying that you have heard of our journey and wish to join us, but it is impossible and not to your part to be talking to Whitti. He is not anywhere near us.

- Kada-El descends the stairs of the BBB, she immediately heads for the gathered group. One by one they fall silent as her striking elven beauty catches their eye.....

?Good morning gentlemen, I trust you slept well. You will need all of your strength, Dorian tells me the road ahead is long and the task great.

As much as I long for it, I regret I am unable to accompany you on this important quest. Matters beyond my control make it necessary for me to follow a different path and remain here at this time.

There may be a way in which I can offer some assistance to you though. The roads ahead are dangerous and you will encounter many obstacles. Please take this locket with you on your journey.?

- Kada smiles a knowing mischievous smile, which lights up her whole face, as she passes an ornate silver locket to Bill.

?In my *ahem* less reputable past, in my rebellious youth, I was a member of a band of renegade elven thieves known as the Azrach?Tar, they occupy the lands ahead, if you should encounter them or are in need of an expert in stealth, lockpicking or just accessing places where you shouldn?t be, show their leader this locket, they may help.....if they remember me. On the other hand they may slice your throats while you sleep for a few meager possessions ? be on your guard and I?m sure your wits will see you through.?

- Looking into the eyes of each member of the party in turn, it almost feels as if she is looking into your very souls. Lastly she looks over to Toru.

?Keep this one safe,\' she says to the rest of the group.  \'The very fate of all races could rest on his shoulders.?

(Whispers to Bill ? ?He seems a little confused, you haven?t been letting him eat the fungus that grows in the depth of the caverns have you??)

?I wish you good fortune on your quest, know that my heart goes with you.....?

- With that Kada turns and exists the room.

[OOC] ? Maybe you guys would benefit from a GM/DM who could drive the plot without leading characters, just explains outcomes and plot. Then you would be able to concentrate on your characters without worrying about plot driving. Good luck :)

[OOC] Yeah but I like to write stories. You cracked me up with that \"surprises them with her elven beauty\". lololol. THIS IS A NOTICE TO EVERYONE READING THIS STORY...... I am now changing the emporers name. Ka-Ching-Nata is now Twauron. Ka-Ching-Nata is just stupid. Please remember this from now on.

Kada-El waves a small good-bye and goes to the counter and picks up a tray with some fresh soup and tea on it. She walks up stairs, and Dorian comes down too. Dorian stops by Kada-El and whispers something in her long, pointy ears. She giggles and climbs the stairs, and Dorian descendes them. He is not as happy now as he comes to the group.

Toru is staring at his birth mark, Larien is thinking hard, blue sparks shooting from his finger tips every once in a while, and Bill sits in his brown robe, sword at his side, hood over his head, sipping on some tea. Bill\'s head barely moves, but his eyes move upwards and make contact with Dorian. Dorian looks very nervous, and heaves a heavy sigh. \"They are coming, aren\'t they Dor...Kifi?\", asks Bill. \"Why do you ask questions in which you already know the answer?\", says Dorian, his face still looking serious. \"How close are they?\", asks Bill. \"Close, very close. About 10 miles from the town of BradenBurry which is about 4 miles away. So an estimated 15 miles I would say\", says Dorian.

Bill sips again from his cup. \"Still the Daktreme?\", asks Bill, who is now looking cautiously out the window of the bar. \"Let me tell you Bill, the Daktreme are more of what you could call generals of Twauron\'s army. To be sending the Daktreme to yall so early is frightening, yet slightly comforting at the same time. They know who you descend from and know that you each hold emmense power. This shows that they will not fight easily, and that when you get in a fight, its going to be a big one\", says Dorian. \"Interesting, but you still didn\'t answer my question\", said Bill, sipping again from his tea. \"Ah yes, sorry about that. About 5 Daktreme are leading about 500 orcs. Or rather orc-trolls. About half the size of trolls, but are technically orcs. Like I said, no battle is going to be small\", said Dorian, now also looking at the window.

Bill heaved another sigh. Toru was now listening to Dorian, and shaking his had. \"Damn them\", he said, and stood up and banged his hand on the table, \"DAMN THEM ALL TO HELL!\" Everyone gasped and turnd around. Larien put his hand on Toru\'s shoulder and pushed him down, telling everyone sorry and that he had had a bit too many drinks. \"Are you coming with us\", asked Larien, hand still on Toru\'s shoulder. \"Yes, but not for long. I have a friend who shall be meeting me. He might be able to help us. He is a strong warrior, but an even stronger mage\", said Dorian.

\"Well anyways\", said Dorian, \"I think yall should pack, now. We will be leaving in about 5 minutes.\" Bill swung a satchel over his head and pushed it too his side. \"My clothes, money, a few spells written down. They seem to slip my memory every once in a while. And the ingriediants for a potion to help our health if we are in need\", he said, never letting his eyes move from the window, and still sipping his tea. \"Same here\", said Toru, \"I\'m packed.\" \"Dastroofa dakroota\", said Larien. A bag appeard in his hand, and he forced a small smile.

They stood up and Bill lifted his cup to his lips and tilted his head back to get the last sips of his tea. Suddenly a whistling sound came from nowhere and barely missed Bill\'s head. Kada-El was standing at the top of the stairs with a bow in her hand.

\"What the hell was that for?\", shouted Toru. \"There was a man about to kill me, or rather rob then kill me\", said Bill, \"I was about to get him Kada-El, you take the fun out of surprise.\" Kada-El made a serious face and lowered her bow. \"Surprise is nothing if your dead\", she said. \"Help is not evil, just helpful\", she said and giggled softly. Bill smiled and they left the bar. Bill pocketed the money that the dead thief had and Kada-El dropped the body outside and waved good-bye as the group loaded their belongings onto their horses and road off.

[OOC] I\'m sorry man. I have been sick with a kind of flu and I have that whole \"depresion\" part of the sickness where you just don\'t like everything and just linger around all day. Lets just start from my post, and go from there.

Dorian has told us that the Daktreme are leading a large army of orcish half trolls towards us. They approximately 15 miles away which means we have no time. Dorian will assist us on our way to Kadaikos, but soon he must go and consult a friend on what to do. And don\'t worry, I am going to do a situation. And of course your friend can join, I am going to get him to meet us in this post, so this will not have much of the situation, and I cannot describe him(as in the way he really is) because he must do that himself.

We galloped on for two days straight. Dorian left after only the first night but said he would be back after he consulted his friend. He also said he would meet us at DarenKas, our safe point in which Bill\'s dwarven friends were ready to guard us because they knew of the happenings on Kadaikos and feard that Twauron may come for them next. We were very hungry, but we had about 10 golden circles after we pooled our money together. This was enough for a nights stay at an inn and a good dinner.

We galloped on to the down of Kadroosh, which was really a small village with a town hall, a small neighborhood of about 20 families, an inn and a bar, and a pawn shop. We tied our horses up in an alley alongside the inn. We went inside and rented a room with three beds. We then went to a small restaurant inside and had some porage to eat, for we were very cold too. We bought some ales and sipped on them until Larien noticed someone.

\"Bill\", Larien whispered, \"Don\'t look now, but that Demorian over there \'as been starin\' at Toru for quite some time. Toru was knawing on a block of cheese when he heard what Larien said. He slowly moved his eyes over to the man sitting in the corner. He was surely a Demorian because of his pointed ears. He sipped on some ale and just staired. As Toru raised his hand to scratch his cheek, Larien to clearly see the man\'s eyes widen. Suddenly the man\'s head shot up. He turned around to the window behind him and and stood quickly up. He walked over to us.

\"Quickly, come with me, they have found you. There is no time, you must come\", said the man. Toru got up and motion to the others to follow. The man lead them into a back room and went to a desk connected to the wal. He pulled on the end of the desk and a passage way under the desk flopped open. They crawled threw and the man secured it once again. He then ran over to a bed in the corner and twisted a knob on one of the bed posts. The pushed into the wall and the man motioned for them to follow. They were outside, and once they were all out the bed slided quickly back into place.

Their horses were already ready, and each had a dagger made of Ragof, a fine and hard metal, tied onto each. They threw their belongings on and followed the man.

\"I am sorry that I have not been able to introduce myself. Leading you this way may not have made much sense, but actually if you had stayed their you would be dead in about 10 minutes. They galloped threw a small prarie and neared a river. \"My name is Keldain. Just so you know I dabble in magic, so if you need some magical help just call me\", said Keldain. \"A few of us bar owners have been looking out for ya. Myself included, but I just help clean up every once in a while. Kada-El \'as been helpin\' also. We and Dorian have been helping you and making sure you are safe. It was obvious you would stay at our inns when you had to come to our towns after Dorian led you to us, and that we are the only inns in our town. But anyways, I am leading you to my small boat who I call Mardoka. She is a very sea worthy vessel so no need to be alarmed. We will be traveling down the Barfod River were we will meet Dorian at an abandonded farm. We will get there in about 4 days\", said Keldain. \"Ok then, we\'ve got a plan!\", said Larien.

They galloped over to the river edge, and suddenly they heard screams. They turned back and saw the Daktreme on their horses. Keldain\'s eyes widened and he picked up his belongings from his horses and held them under his arm. As he neard the boat he flung himself off his horse and onto the relatively large row boat. He cut the ropes on the boat and stuck a stick into the dock to keep from floating away.

The others neared him and jumped onto the boat. Toru\'s horse was getting slightly shaken a few yards from the boat. He patted his horse and grabbed his belongings and ran towards the boat, the Daktreme in pursuit. He ran as hard as he could, and Keldain pushed away from the dock. He drifted slowly out and yelled for Toru to jump. He reached the edge and lept into the air. He soared high and with a loud thud, slammed into the deck of the boat and they sailed off. The Daktreme stood at the river\'s edge, staring at them with under their black cloaks.

ooc: Cool, we now have a mage :) I guess I\'ll still continue with Larien as a fighter mage, but I think he should concentrate more on healing spells and fighting from now on. (that is, if Keldain\'s going to be a permanent char)
OOC means Out of Character

The Daktreme stood staring as if entranced for several moments, then turned and galloped away. Larien knew they were probably going back to report to the Twauron. Anyhow, they were safe. For now at least....

Larien turned back and saw Bill conversing with Keldain and Toru. They seemed happy as they laughed and joked, and in order not to interrupt, Larien simply found a place on a chair and sat down.

Several minutes later, he got up and went to the deck. The Mardoka was indeed a fine boat. Resting his arms on the cool metal railing, he stared out at the blue, boundless sea which by now covered them at all sides. A gentle breeze gusted past, and he sighed contentedly. Out of the blue, the boat started to rock. Larien\'s head snapped up in surprise. He saw that the once calm sea was now rough, with enormous waves.

What the.......? he thought. Just then, a huge wave rocked the boat tumultously. Larien balanced precariously for a moment, then stumbled, falling over and crushing one of his delicate wings. At that very moment, his sharp eyes caught sight of a dark, gaping hole far in the distance. It was approaching them at an incredible speed! He felt a sick feeling in the pit of his stomach suddenly, as if something very, very bad was going to happen. Ignoring it, he rushed in to warn the others...

ooc: Since Larien\'s grandfather, Exeter, had mild psychic powers, Larien should have inherited them from him....
Whitti, you there? About time you added something to your story.... ;)  :P

whitti spurred his Pterasaur onwards, knowing of the danger of his old companions. Ingfor (as the Pterasaur is called) accelerated. He had left the Old Mans Cottage, who had read the mark and known of what plight they lay in. \'Talad guide me!\', whitti muttered. He looked around the landscape, it was growing dark. He had left a day or two ago, but whitti cared not of time, but of his companions.

Around his hand he now wore a red embroidered band, with a blue arrow sticking through a flower, the symbol of his father\'s City north of Dermoria. Evidently the man had known his father. He was told that in hard times it would do \'miricles\' and it was also said that It would light up when enemies drew near!

The wind blew him on and soon he had landed by a small stream, where he set up camp for the night. He ate some bread, fresh a few days ago but now turning slightly mouldy and then aly down on the bleak ground.

OOC: Sup Whitti!

The boat rocked more violentaly than ever. Bill, Toru, and Keldain hung onto the sides of the boat to stay afloat. They got closer to the swirling pit in the middle of the river, and they could not stop the boat.

They were pushed sideways towards it but suddenly smashed into a small rock. They had halted for a brief moment. Bill got the rope that tied the boat to the dock, and tied it tightly around his own sword and then tied it again to the railing of the small boat. He got Larien\'s attention who quickly flew over to Bill. Bill instructed Larien to fly to a nearby tree and stick the sword into the tree so they could shimmey over to land. Larien said it was too dark to see straight, and that his wing was badly hurt. Bill then put his hand on Larien\'s shoulder and said that he was their only choice, and if he did not hit the sword into the tree they would all drown.

Larien stared at Bill, and then turned and flew away. A few minutes later there was a tug on the rope. Toru hung onto the rope and shimmied across, and then tugged the rope again. The boat started to move away from the rock, so only a few seconds was left. Bill crossed over and pulled the rope. Suddenly the boat creaked again, slid off the rock, and flipped over on its side. Keldain quickly cut the rope and hung on for dear life.

He was swept back and forth, but he still attempted to climb the rope. He was now being pulled towards the whirl pool, and his head was frequently being dunked under water. He hung on and climbed a bit more. Larien suddenly flew to him and tried to pick him up but the water was to strong. He then pushed Keldain up the rope, which worked for a bit. But suddenly a giant tentacle shot out from inside the whirl pool and clutched Larien, not letting him fly because his wings were under the tentacle.

Another shot out and grabbed Keldain, but he pulled out his sword before it could grab his arms. He sliced the tentacle in half and lept onto the one holding Larien. He freed Larien and threw him in the water. He jumped in after him. Bill and Toru threw the rope out again and this time they were able to pull themselves onto dry land.

Toru, Larien, and Keldain stood at the shore looking for Bill. He came back a moment later with someone at his side. \"Hello!\", called the figure at Bill\'s side. They walked closer and it was revealed to be-Whitti! \"He had fallen asleep apparently from some moldy bread he had eaten. It seems he is back with us now\", said Bill. Whitti smiled and motioned for them to follow. They walked for about a mile until they came to a dimly lit town.

Whitti went to a small house and opened the front door. \"This is my home, here in the small town of Bumbry\", said Whitti. They went in, climbed a small set of stairs, and plopped onto their beds. Whitti stood at the door of the giant bed room and asked what happened. Bill and Toru explained the most part of what had happened, but Keldain and Larien were much to tired to talk.

\"We\'ve lost everything\", said Toru. \"All our weaponry, money, clothing, and food.\" Bill huffed a small laugh and patted his side, amazingly he still had his satchel and sword. \"Don\'t worry, I have plenty of food, some spair weapons, and a few health spells we can use along the way\", said Whitti. \"We? You are joining us again?\", asked Larien, still panting from his adventure. \"Why yes. I am sorry for leaving so early when it was I who started the adventure. Why had yall kept going to Kadaikos?\", asked Whitti. Toru raised his palm and said, \"Well guess what this mark-.\" \"The mark! It is true! But for you to know only Dorian could have told you. Where is he?\", asked Whitti. \"He is with his friend. A...hmm....Sir....something....ah! Sir Tradus Awastry, a fighter mage of sorts\", said Bill.

\"That name sounds very familiar\", said Whitti. \"I think I heard the old man talking to someone about Awastry, and something about treatchery, and then orcish half-trolls.\" \"Well the orcish half-trolls are real. An army of them are trying to kill us. Some Daktreme lead them on their way\", said Toru. Whitti put his hand on his face. \"Damn...wait! I remember...he said....wait...that means...no...damn it!\", screamed Whitti, his eyes frantically over seeing the room as if searching for something. \"What?\", asked Bill. \"Awastry\'s a traitor. I remember the old man\'s words now. Awastry has joined Twauron, and I think he is making these orcish half-trolls\", said Whitti slowly. \"That means-\", said Larien but was cut off by Whitti. \"It means Dorian is in danger, and that he may even be dead by now\", said Whitti.

MeanWhile, Dorian is on his horse galloping towards the Ruins of Datratium to meet Sir Tradus Awastry

Dorian leaps off his horse and races up a flight of stairs and opens two sets of doors. \"Sir Tradus! Sir Tradus, are you here?\", yelled Dorian. A hand placed itself on Dorian\'s shoulder. \"I am here, Dorian\", said Awastry. Tradus was a tall man, with a long brown beard, and long brown hair. His fingers and face were worn from his age, but he still held the power of many inside him. He wore dark, black robes, and his hood was down. \"Come, I know of what you seek\", said Tradus.

Dorian followed Tradus in a small room, where Tradus then sat down and put his finger tips together and closed his eyes. Suddenly a horse, fire blazing around it, and a dark rider upon the horse, flashed into Dorian\'s mind. This was the \"Rider of Twauron\". It watches everything, and when you see it, it sees you. And its henchmen are near. Dorian began to worry slightly but kept his mind clear in case Awastry read his mind, and he was who Dorian thought he might be.

Suddenly Awastry\'s head shot up and his eyes burst open. \"His army is great. In both numbers and strength. Twauron is growing stronger. He seems undefeatable\", said Awastry. \"Where does he come from?\", asked Dorian. \"From the north, his firey empire grows on the highest peaks of Kadaikos\", said Awastry, his eyes following Dorian. \"Tradus...I...I have the key\", Dorian said hesitantly. Awastry\'s eyes widened, and then closed to but tiny slits. \"You have the key to the power?\", asked Awastry. Dorian stopped pacing and looked at Awastry. Awastry smiled. \"Then join us, join us and we shall rule all of Yliakum! Twauron is strong, and you and I will rule beside him! I can help him forget the past and you and I shall rule Yliakum with the dark lord!\", yelled Awastry. Dorian sighed slightly to himself. He muttered some words and his finger-tips lit up. He put forth his fingers and finished the encantation and sparks flew again Awastry, holding him against the wall. \"Since when did Sir Tradus Awastry abandon all of his vast knowledge to join...him?\", asked Dorian. Awastry smiled and said \"Boodemrus Inastus!\" and opened his mouth. A fire ball shot out and hit Dorian\'s arm, burning it and pushed him to the ground a few feat back.

Awastry fell to the ground and yelled \"Dakomus Mastreem!\" and a burst of wind pushed Dorian against a door, and he could not move. \"Since I knew the dark lord WOULD win this pathetic war. Give me the mark you fool!\", said Awastry, increasing the strength of the wind holding Dorian. \"Fine\", he said and the doors opened and Dorian was slammed to the floor. The doors slammed shut again, and then disappeared. The room was dark, and Dorian was very weak. He put his hand up and said \"Droomat\" and a small light lit in the palm of his hand. He could see the ceiling, lowering towards him, to crush him. He gasped and said \"Dakoosa Anat Shareem Dastat Faroosh!\" and a small hole burst in the side of the room. He dragged himself over and saw that the ruins had been transported to deep within Twauron\'s domain. \"Klyrin Dorat\", said Dorian, as the ceiling was only 3 feet from his face. He lept out of the hole, and wings sprouted on his back, like those of the Klyros, and he flew quickly away from the domain.

Several hours later, Dorian reached the group. \"Tradus Awastry.........the traitor!\" he gasped out, panting heavily. He landed on the ground, and the wings on his back disappeared instantly.
\"We know,\" Bill replied grimly. \"I hope you\'re all right, Dorian.\"
\"Ha, don\'t worry about me! Been through worse than that,\" Dorian retorted. Just then, he noticed Whitti. \"And this might be.....?\" Whitti stood forward and introduced himself. Dorian nodded approvingly.

\"We have lost a powerful ally,\" Toru spoke up. \"What do we do now?\" The group listened in silence, contemplating.

OOC: A lot of speech here, just thought we might need some detail.

[OOC] Actually it was several HOURS not minutes. Just a tiny thing, no big critisism here.

The next day, Whitti went to a stable in the neighboring town of Staten to buy horses for everyone, and the others sat in the house.

\"How did you find us?\", asked Toru. \"Well I knew you would be using the river. So first I flew there and saw bits and pieces of the boat. Then I saw a piece of a tentacle. I thought you might have died until I saw a piece of bread. It was dry, which mean\'t it did not fly from the boat, and it was bitten into, which mean\'t someone was there eating the bread. So, using the last spell in my mental dictionary, I used a scent spell where I could track the person and see if they knew if you were dead. I followed it all the way here, and here I am\", said Dorian.

Keldain and Larien stayed in the kitchen, deeply immersed in a conversation about transfiguration spells, Dorian had to rest from his journey, Toru decided he would not wander so freely anymore because of his importance, and Bill went to the local bar for an ale.

He strolled threw the swinging front doors and went to a table in the middle of the room. He pulled his cloak over his head and relaxed his hands on the table. A grumpy old man in a tiny white apron came over. \"What chall I be servin\' ya?\", he said. \"Just an ale\", said Bill. The man grunted. \"Sir, what kind\'a ale? We have bluebarry, bax barry, dust ale, swirly ale, sweat ale, chicken ale-\" \"I\'ll just take the....sweat...ale\", said Bill. The man grunted again and walked away. A few minutes later he brought back a purple colored ale. Bill gave a tiny smile to the man, but the man just grunted and left.

The ale tasted very sweat, almost too sweat, like lemon juice, and it was purple. Suddenly a man, with two other men by his side, rammed threw the door, with a bit of foam on their mouths indicating they were drunk. They all wore a white undershirt, long, black pants, black coat, brown shoes, and a brown hat. Two of them had unshaven faces, and one had a dirty beard. They walked in, but people paid no attention. \"Ahem\", the one in the middle said. No one did anything. \"AHEM!\", he yelled, and everyone turned to him. He gave a sly smile.

\"Well \'ello ever\'one. My name is Sagana, Sagana RobYa! Ahahaha! I always *hic* love \'dat joke! *hic* Well \'dat is correct. I am gonna rob you\'s little losers all \'da way back down to the Mississippi!\", said the one in the middle. \"Where?\", asked a man next to him. The man in the middle pulled out his sword and chopped the man\'s left arm off. \"AHHHHHHHHHHHH! YOU SON OF A-\", but he was cut off he the man behind him decapitated him. They both held their \"prized\" body parts and then threw them at random people.

The men strolled threw the bar. The one in the middle stopped at Bill\'s table and looked at Bill\'s ale. \"*hic* Ahaha! Its purrrrrrrple! Only girlies like purrrrple! Ahahaha!\", said the man. He got out his sword and swung it at Bill. But Bill jumped onto the table, dodging the sword, and swung his cup right into the man\'s head, making it break. The man\'s head began to bleed, but he just turned with a toothless grin and began to swing violantly. The other men just laughed. Bill quickly pulled two throwing knives from his pocket and threw them at the other men, they landed right between their eyes. The two men fell down, dead.

Bill pulled out his sword and back flipped onto the ground. \"Stupid *hic* liddle midjet! I\'m gonna have ya fo\' suppa\'!\", said the man. Bill\'s fury rose and he cut off the hand holding the man\'s sword. He then took both swords and thrust them threw the man\'s body. The man fell over, and eventually died from blood loss. Bill quietly left the bar, and went back to the house. There he found that Whitti had come back with the horses.

((OOc: aw darn... this was supposed to get in before another post... darn... can we just say its up there? heh))
((OOc: Hey all! Glad to join you all in writing this story. Thanks a lot for writing me in Bill    :)) ))

Keldain sits up on his elbows from were he lay... looking about at the rest of the party he blinks away the exhaustion from his eyes, the vision of the monster they just encountered still fresh in his memory.  \"Poor girl....\" He mumbles to himself, thinking of his boat Mardoka. \"She was a good old girl...\" he lays there and mumbles, then suddenly realizing where he is he sits up directs his voice to the rest of the party.  \"My friends... I apologize once more for our sudden departure... but it was quite necessary indeed... you are all in great peril and will most likely be so for some time to come? and so it seems I share your danger now? he says.

After clearing his throat he continues.

?If I returned home now my friends and my family would be slaughtered? there is no promise that that hasn?t already happened?  The ones who seek your demise have no doubt turned an eye to me for helping you and if I am caught I will surely come to a gruesome end.? He shivers.  ?It seems to me now that I have no choice but to be a?traveling with you all on your... ahem... quest... that is if you have need of my skills\". He places his hand over a golden runed hemlock staff he has had with him for the boat ride... he barely managed to save it when the boat capsized, but such things have a tendency to care for them selves. \"My full name is Keldain Meryan, I am vessel of the art... I have been practicing the art of magery since I was a child. I was taken up as an apprentice by an old hedgemage who lived near my hometown. He taught me most of what I know but I have surpassed him in my studies and skill\" he says.

Firmly grasping his staff he pushes him self to his feet. Looking about once more he does his best to look presentable to the group, straightening the folds of his still damp vest.

\"Will you have me my friends? I shall not disappoint you...\"

[OOC] That was fine. Nice to finally meet ya.  :D And no prob about putting you in.

Bill entered just as Keldain finished his speech. \"I shall\", said Bill. Toru standed up. \"And I!\" \"Me too!\", said Larien. Dorian smiled and agreed also. Whitti gave each one of them a sword, except for Bill, and some bread, 4 Octas to buy things if they needed, and, of course, a horse.

They loaded their belongings on their horses and road out of the town. They went on for a few hours until Keldain realized something. \"Shhhhhh. Quietly everyone, when I say, run as fast as you possibly can over that bridge there. No questions asked, just do it. ........NOW!\" They went to full speed and galloped as fast as they could, and suddenly arrow\'s whizzed by their heads. About 30 orcish half-trolls ran screaming out of the small wood on the side of the road, all holding axes and swords. A few more arrows were shot but missed everyone.

They galloped swiftly around a town to keep the troll\'s out of it, and went into some woods. The troll\'s followed but could not keep up. Suddenly 3 Daktreme galloped closely behind them, each carrying a bow. \"Hold onto my horse Bill\", instructed Larien. Bill did as was told, and Larien flew into the air. \"Taryenata Vashreem!\", Larien shouted, and green lightning shot from his palms and thrusted the Daktreme off their horses. He flew back to his horse and they road on.

They came to a large water fall and, via a small path, went under the water fall and found a small cavern. They could hear the orcish half-trolls coming, and they searching desperatly for another path way farther under the water fall. But to no avail. Keldain put his hands on the wall to guide him in a dark part of the cavern. Suddenly a rock moved inward, and a door opened. He signaled to the others who went into the passage way, and hid there.

They could hear that the trolls had arrived and they stomped and grunted and banged on the walls. \"Droomus\", said Keldain, and a small green light shimmered in his hand. Keldain walked around but saw that the passage way they were in was only a small room, nothing more. But Keldain searched the walls again, and found that his hand passed straight threw another wall, as if it wasn\'t there.

The others looked threw it, and saw a passage way. They galloped threw and found another dead end with a slopping ceiling. There they found another fake wall, and Bill peeked threw it. He saw that it lead to a hill to the right of the peak of the water fall. To their left were a small swarm of trolls. \"On three everyone. One...two...THREE!\", said Toru and they raced out evading the trolls.

They rode on for 4 more hours and stopped at an inn for a few drinks.

OOC: do this when you write a long part!:
They settled down in the inn for a while, sipping ale. But they were concious of someone listening and watching. whitti whispered in Bills ear: \"I think they\'ve got watchers out for us. We must leave quickly.\" They whispered it amongst themselves and then quickly went to their horses and galloped away. As they galloped nearing hooves reached their ears.

\"Thank Laanx\", whitti muttered, the others did the same mutterings. They flung their horses on hoping that they had not been spotted. \"At least they must have stopped at the inn to ask the watchers\", one of them quietly said.

They past a few more villages, avoiding all inns and town centers, as the watchers could be anywhere. After a few more hours they stopped at a stream to rest and drink...

As the travelers stopped to rest at the stream after a long days ride they watered and hobbled their horses, setting them out to graze.
Keldain sat at the edge of the riverbank away from the rest of the group, motionless except for the faint rustle of parchment as he flipped through a small stack of yellowed papers. He sorted through them until he found the desired page, after a few moments of reading he replaced the remaining papers in a small pack by his waist, keeping the chosen one at hand.
Rising to his feet he approached the rest of the group. \"Here, everyone gather \'round for a moment\" he beckoned. The members of the party gave him questioning looks \"Hmm? Why so Keldain?\" Said Bill as he finished off a traveling ration.   \"Just come here for a moment friends, I have with me something that may throw our followers of course a bit\" he replied.
The group complied, momentarily stopping what they where doing, and went to Keldain as he requested.
Nodding to them he held out the piece of paper he had been reading and ripped it up into several pieces, handing a piece to each member of the party. \"Brace your selves for a moment... this will not take long\" He said. And with that he closed his eyes, holding his hands in front of him he chanted.... \"Oon trek, bamartrin, covetar ishRen!\". The travelers suddenly found them selves... looking at them selves! Fully equipped and on horseback the Illusions sped off through the woods in roughly the direction the group had come from.
The travelers blinked for a moment... then realized what he had done, \"Ha!\", laughed Toru. \"That ought to put coal under their \'seats\' when they find out they have been chasing shadows!\"

[OOC] D\'OH! SORRY WHITTI!

Keldain, Bill, Larien, Dorian, and Whitti laughed a bit at Toru\'s joke. They lept onto their horses and set off.

\"So Dorian\", asked Bill, \"I hope you don\'t mind me asking...but...what happened to your wife?\" A small tear crept down Dorian\'s face and he gave a small smile. \"She was a lovely woman, and my love for her could fill all the rivers, ponds, and oceans. I remember the night like it was yesterday. I was sitting in a chair studying some spells from a book, she was asleep on my shoulder. I remember her shivering, and I used a spell to make a purple clothe out of thin air and wrapped it around us\", said Dorian, another tear going down his cheek. \"But then an arrow flew through the air, as if a dark, and evil tiger already knowing its prey would fall, leaping for joy even when danger was still about. Heh...I am not good with similies. Anyways...the arrow...it went into her...her...\", said Dorian but stopped. \"Her what father?\", asked Toru, tears now flowing freely from his eyes. \"Her head, blood flowed down my back, and she fell forward, and then a small pool of blood came from under her. I remember sitting there, stairing at her body, and the arrow, the god damn arrow. I slowly removed it from behind her beautiful hair....\", Dorian stopped and wiped his eyes, \"and then I looked out the window. An archer was riding away, a black and hooded archer. But I got a small piece of revenge after the fool Twauron tried to kill me. It was that night that he attempted the murder. He cornerered me, in my towel after I had bathed, he raised his sword, and sliced into my leg so I could suffer before I died. I broke the nearby mirror, and took and shard and threw it at him. He dodged, but with that I escaped. I ran, my leg heavily bleeding, until I finally hid in a room, with her casket in it\", he stopped again and drouped his head forward, \"and next to her casket was a box, I opened it and found the arrow. Some imbosile thought it was, for some reason, important to me. I opened the box and took out the arrow, still sticky with her blood. Twauron emerged from the door, and I hid. He crossed the room and put his hand on her coffin. He laughed, and slapped the coffin. I came from behind him and hit his arrow into his back. He fell forward and knocked himself unconscious by hitting his head on the coffin. I lifted his body and threw it out the window, breaking his leg I think.\"

\"Oh my god....my mother was killed in such a way that I...I....\", Toru stopped and sobbed a second. They rode on for a few minutes, until Bill\'s blade began to glow.

\"Now let us swim the river!\", whitti said triumphantly. \"Not neccesary\", keldain sighed. \"Aquarentum Shilotom Stralencon\" was muttered and a small boat appeared on the shore, just big enough to hold them and their possesions (and horses).

They all got on quickly and after a few muttered words whizzed to the opposite bank. As soon as they all got off the boat dissappeared. Then they went into the underbrush to hide.

It was about ten o\' clock at night when whitti heard it. some of the companions had fallen asleep waiting, but Whitti and Toru were awake, although yawning. The troup of half- orcs (or whatever they\'re called) marched behind the Daktreme, but in the front two sniffer orcs ran.

In a strange tongue they pointed to the place where the images of the travelers had left. Then the troup followed the trail and were lost to view.

Toru and whitti sighed, and woke the others, to tell them they had left their trail. Then they all slept.

[OOC] Orcish Half-Trolls. Orcs that are half the size of trolls.  :D We can just call them trolls or half-trolls.

They galloped slowly forward and saw that two trolls had stayed behind and were speaking-English! The others stopped, and Toru and Larien climbed from their horses and hid behind the half-trolls. \"Did they notice we stayed?\", asked one. \"No, we\'d be dead by now if they knew we were hear. That stupid Awastry says STAY WILL THEM, SERVE THE ARMY, OR DIE! They are so strong, I was beginning to become to much of their kind. The language was sticking to me\", said the other. \"Hehe...well we know enough. I think we should go find the others. Do you think Dacabra, Drasta, and Froos have found the marked one yet?\", asked the first one. Toru gasped silently. \"I dunno, but anyways lets get out of these stupid costumes. Balayros Canas!\" The two half-trolls suddenly turned into grey Kran\'s, both wearing short pants, and a dagger in their belt. We must stop these people, before they get to the one first.\"

\"You!\", said Toru, who had emerged from the brush and began to walk to the two Krans. \"You are searching for the...marked one?\", he asked. The two Krans grasped their daggers. \"Who are you?\", asked one. \"I am Toru, I am traveling to Kadaikos to...stop...Twauron\", he said. \"I am Tagus, he is Dragus. We are brothers. We are in the FellowShip. Do you know of the FellowShip?\", said Tagus slyly. \"Well...no\", said Toru. \"If you do not know the FellowShip, and search for the mark, then you are none other than the adventurer. We have heard of you. That means....is the marked one with you\", asked Dragus. \"Well....y...yes\", said Toru. The two Kran\'s eyes widened. \"We need him. NOW!\", sid Tagus. \"I...I..am the marked one\", said Toru. He raised his palm and showed the mark. The two Kran\'s smiled. Tagus paced slowly behind Toru, and Dragus began to speak. \"So if you are the....marked one...*cough*....then you are the son of Dorian?\", asked Dragus. \"Y-\", said Toru but was cut off. Tagus put his blade to the neck of Toru and Dragus laughed. \"We did it brother! We can now control the power! The master will be proud! And we will be granted 1/4 control of Yliakum! AHAHAHA!\", screamed Dragus.

(ooc: Nice to meet you, Keldain :)) Bill: I\'ve edited my post about the hour/minute thing)

At this, Larien, who had tried to restrain Toru before he exposed himself, jumped out of the brush. His eyes blazed with unimaginable fury. \"You will NOT, repeat NOTgain any control over Yliakum!\" he drew the words out slowly, punctuating each word with a vicious glare at the Kran brothers. They gaped, stumbling backwards in surprise.

Meanwhile, Bill and the others also got up, unsheathing their swords and holding them up in a battle stance. Jumping backwards, Keldain and Larien quickly dispatched of Dragus, while Bill and Dorian slashed relentlessly at Tagus. Toru, taking advantage of the confusion, also escaped his hold and assisted them. Finally, they laid the unconscious pair on the ground. \"What should we do with them?\" Toru asked. Without answering, Larien promptly took off his by now torn and tattered cloak and, tearing it into long strips, bound the Kran tightly together. \"Don\'t kill them, they might prove to be of value later.\" Larien said tersely. Dorian nodded in approval. \"We could get information out of them.\"

Suddenly, Larien wavered unsteadily on his feet. His vision blurred, and he fell forward heavily.
\"What...!\"Keldain muttered and swiftly knelt, checking the Klyros\' pulse. A minute later he heaved a sigh of relief. \"Just exhaustion after that battle. He exerted himself too much, pushed himself over the limit. \" \"Can you heal him or somethin\'?\" Bill queried. \"No, it would be better to let it heal on its own. Spells might disrupt the body\'s processes. Don\'t worry, he\'ll be fine soon.\" Keldain replied.

Toru, Keldain, and Bill all had to get the brothers because they were so heavy. Whitti lay Larien over his horse, and took control of Larien\'s horse. They rode to a small praire filled with rocks. \"I \'ave got an idea\", said Bill quietly. They put their horses in a secluded place, and Bill ripped a long root from the ground and ripped it off its tree. They climbed into a small cavern inside the gigantic boulders.

\"Keldain, some light please?\", asked Bill. \"Ah yes\", said Keldain, who muttered words and a small green flare lit in his palm. \"Good\", assured Bill. Bill tied the brothers to a small rock, and told the others to put their swords to the brothers\' necks.

Bill dipped his hand in a nearby puddle and splashed the muddy water into the faces of the brothers. Taugus awakened, and was spooked by the swords of Toru and Whitti. Bill had his sword in his hand, and Keldain had his palm out with the light in it. \"So...who do you work for?\", asked Bill. The Kran spit on Bill\'s shirt. Bill licked his lips and sighed. He got the spit off his shirt by pressing it onto his finger, in which he then wipped off the remaining saliva onto the Kran\'s face. Bill the hit Tagus in the face with the blunt side of his sword. Tagus groaned.

\"Again...who do you work for?\", asked Bill. Tagus began to spit again, but Bill quickly put the tip of his sword very close to Tagus\'s lips. \"One last time, who do you work for?\", asked Bill calmly. \"I am not saying you stupid dwarf!\", said Tagus. \"Fine\", said Bill, and he promtly cut Tagus\'s lip off. Tagus screamed, but Keldain muttered some words and Tagus suddenly stopped, still apparently filled with pain but not able to scream.

\"Hmmm...how about a different question\", said Bill. \"I will answer to no one but my master!\", said Tagus. \"Who is...?\", asked Bill. Tagus staired at Bill. \"Just tell me why you want the power\", said Bill. \"But how-.\" \"Ah stop with this rubbish. I know perfectly clear about all this Laan\'x Power business, so don\'t try anything stupid. We haven\'t got all day because, if you haven\'t noticed, a dark lord is trying to take over the world. If you could kindly answer our questions so we can kill you quicker. You have got nothing to lose considering you will die either way\", said Bill. \"Wha\'! You will kill me? Damn. Ahh what the hell. I work for the Inner Circle a group of rebels fighting to stop Twauron from getting the power, so we can get it ourselves and rule our way\", said Tagus, grinning. \"Ahu...thats interesting\", said Bill.

\"Do we need him anymore?\", asked Whitti. \"Hmmmm well....\", said Bil, and quickly decapitated the Kran. \"Nope\", answered Bill. \"What about the other?\", asked Keldain. \"Leave him, lets go.\"

A sigh escaped Keldains lips as they left the cave, he shook his head with a disdaind look on his face. \\\"What troubles you Keldain?\\\"Asked Bill as he cleaned his sword. Looking up, Keldain quickly wiped the look from his face. \\\" nothing friend... it\\\'s just that killing that Kran wasen\\\'t the way to go... his partner is going to be none to pleased with us... and I know for a fact we are in dept for his life... and such depts tend not to go unpaid in this world... i have a fealing we will be hearing from that one again sometime in the near future\\\"

[OOC] Dude you are perfectly, 100%, fine.

\"I have a feeling we will be meeting them too\", said Bill as he dipped his blade in the pond they stopped to rest at. \"But I have no regret for his death. He chose the path of evil, and to take the power of Laanx and use it for such vile meaning is the work of hatred. He was, what he was, and for that his life must be taken. Evil shall never triumph, that is my life\'s journey, and the meaning for the beating in my heart, and the pulsing in my brain\", said Bill.

They heard deep footsteps, and readied their swords. A bloody and hurt Dragus stepped into view. He was carrying a broken sword, now the size of a dagger, and he was holding a cut on his arm. He fell over, unconscious. Toru and Larien, who was now conscious, went to aid him, but Bill looked on in disgust. \"They killed my brother! The trolls found me and almost killed me, but got Tagus\", said Dragus. Bill sighed, \"No fool, they did not get your brother....*sigh*...I did.\" Dragus\'s eyes filled with fury. He ran towards Bill, and Bill dodged him and tripped him into the water. Dragus climbed out and stood, staring evily at Bill.

A Daktreme had appeared from the wood. It readied its arrow, and shot Dragus in his back, who fell forward, dead.

(ooc: Both are dead already? Arrr.....nvm. :D
Tasadar: Sorry, I\'m not too good at adding new chars into the story, I\'ll let Bill do his job. :P)
Larien leaned forward to have a look at the dead Kran as Dragus\'s eyes flared once, then died. He drew back, troubled. \"Bill, what do you say we do with these corpse? Should we bury them?\" \"Nay, they chose the wrong path, and this is the price they paid.\" Bill snorted in response.
Meanwhile, Toru and Keldain were searching for the mysterious Daktreme that had killed Dragus. Unfortunately, it was long gone by now.

For hours the group trudged on, stopping only occasionally for a rest and to find food. When night fell, they took shade under several enormous trees and slept.

At dawn, Toru got up the earliest. After watching the beautiful sunrise in solitude, he found that food supplies were running low and decided to hunt for a while. As he walked through a clearing, he noticed something strange in the distance. Straining his eyes, he frowned. That couldn\'t be........oh Hyne, yes! A town at last! A wide, wide smile spread out on his face. In boundless  excitement, he ran back and told the others, who had by now awakened. \"Oh, good!\" Dorian cried out gleefully. \"I wonder if there\'re any inns or taverns? I sure could use a good rest. Not to mention good food!\" Keldain was more cautious. \"We had better be careful, there might be more of Twauron\'s agents around.\" Whitti and Bill nodded in mutual agreement.

And so the group set off. Within half an hour or so, they had reached their destination. \"Hmm...Carthage Town,\" Larien muttered, staring at a tattered sign.
At that, Bill took a tentative step inside. The others followed.

(ooc: a bit short on detail, but I wanted to get to this part quickly. Tired of just walking around and fighting all day.... :P )

\"So......they have made their way to Carthage.\" said a slender figure as he steped out from behind the shadows. \"These poor fools know not what they do. I must do my worst to keep them from their quest!\"

That being said, the figure summoned a thick mist and covered the town of Carthage. This mist was so thick that vision was limited to only a foot.

\"There, If they can\'t see then they will have a hard time locating their path. This should slow them down for a whilst I think of more to do.\" said the figure as he then vanished back into the shadows.

ooc: Hi, Stawert! Welcome to the Planeshift Boards. :))
Firstly, do you want to create a character of your own and join us in our adventure, either as a permanent char (eg. me, Bill, Whitti, Toru, Keldain)or as a temporary char (eg. Kada-El)? Or do you want to just help us advance the story?

Regarding your post, it\'s good. Really. But I was actually planning for a little sense of normalcy for a few days. Like, they go there, buy new clothes, rest and chat around, and also learn something new like fishing etc that could improve their chances of survival in the wild.
I guess it\'s my own fault for not saying that at my last post, but I think the characters should not be on the run all the time, if so they would go insane or something. Besides, even heroes have to have some resting time. They can\'t just go on fighting forever and not feel tired of all the violence and fighting.
All the different twists and turns might make the plot too complicated as there would be a lot of loose ends that need to be tied up.

This post is merely my own opinion, you are not obliged to follow it. If you have different views that are acceptable, I would gladly follow them instead. Thanks! :D

*Stawert calls for a slight breaze to pass over the adventurers. Upon this breaze he places a slight mist of sleep and the adventurers drift off into a hazzy dream.*

Do not fear too much by my pressence. I remain more to the shadows. Ever watchfull and determined to stay you and your band from finding my one time home. I do not wish you harm though I will be harsh if I must.

While I have created this mist, I have not done so to make you run. I have done so to hold you to this town. I do not want you to continue further till I gather my thoughts of how best to deal with the situation.

My mist is only temporary, as the wind will surely blow it away in a week or less, so this will be your chance to regain yourselves and prepare for the adventure and plans I have instore for you.

I am a new player in this game of yours but in truth I have been watching you always. Until now I thought you too week to make it this far. Now is time I take matters in mine own hands and try to stay you from your quest. Try as you might, just remember one thing. Nothing escapes the power of the elements.

These are but only some words that I have whispered onto a wind that I have then sent through your mind. Soon you will awake and know nothing of what I have told you. But from this point on, you will constantly feel as if something new has come and you cannot tell if it be friend or foe.

*The breaze fades and so does the sleep. The adventurers awaken with no thought of what had just transpired. To them, nothing had happened at all and they simply find themselves in the mist covered town exactly as they were before.*

(OOC: I tried my best to keep from having to do this. Did no one read into the dream sequence to find the answers for the questions asked? I am not joining your quest. I am here to throw curves into your path in hopes to keep you from your final destination. Maybe someday I will be revealed to you face to face, but for the time being I am just a shadow that has been following you from the very begining. I watched you gather. I saw your deeds. I was amazed at your powers. I have truely under estimated how far you guys would come. I know where it is that you are headed and I know what is in store for you there when you get there. This is why I am throwing my hand into the game. I don\'t want you to reach Kadaikos. I will slowly introduce myself further and further as you guys progress on your journey. Just be ready for twists and turns as I throw my spells into the mix. Remember, I am not joining you guys, I am interacting with your journey.)

ooc: Okay, I guess your interaction will add a new twist in the story.8) So now Bill will add Tasadar in the story, and the mist will blow away in a few days, then everything returns to normal. I hope things will return to normal soon, coz I want all the chars to take a rest and have some fun for a few days. More importantly, I want them to learn some skills: eg fishing, mining, smithing, tailoring etc. This is very important as it will increase their chances of survival and may add to the plot of the story. Can you guys tell me what profession you want your char to dabble in?
Btw, can some1 also give me a detailed description of both the Daktreme and Half-Trolls? May come in use later... :)

[OOC] Yes, yes, and yes to all your stuff Dwinney. I read the stuff a few times, Stawert, but I barely missed the line that showed you were against us. I read about you hating us blah blah and thought that you hated us, then I read the dream which sorta set me off course. ANYWAY, I got your drift. Now for the quick descriptions:

Daktreme: About 6 feet tall, and have a LONG black cloak. It stops barely above their ankles, where at their feet they have dark-silvery armored shoes. They always where their hoods over their heads, and if you were to look at their faces all you see it black, like looking down a pit of hate. They have black gloved hands. Its like that. They all wear long swords on their left sides, and have black horses with the usual \"horse gear\".

Orcish Half-Trolls: Orcs are like goblins but without the ears, they look like they would be bald if they were human. They are green, and have shiney and sorta scaley skin. Thats where the \"Orcish\" comes from. But a troll is usually about 15 feet tall I would say. These are about half that size at say 7-9 feet tall. They are more trolls sorta than orcs, so they are orcISH half (half SIZED) trolls. The slouch over as like a normal hump because they are orcs, and they are not that bright, so thats why they are not as \"killer\" as other things they come upon.

And.....done.  :D And Tasador, I hope you will be happy with having archery as one of your main skills in this story, because thats the way I get you in. I changed a lot of things at the last minute of finished the story because I realized I left them out, so this might not be as good as I thought it was gonnna be.  [OOC OUT!]

They got up and rode into the town, Bill got a glint of some Ylian in dark cloaks. He was not sure if it was a Ylian, could have been a Lemur or Demorian, but it probably did not matter.

They road on and stopped at a bakery. Toru ordered a large loaf of bread and split it among the party. They munched on the bread, Keldain and Larien spread butter on theirs, and just sat staring into space. They were all tired for it was about one in the morning when they finally reached the town.

\"Macalbriem!\", shouted Larien, pointing his fingers at the group. A blue stream engourged everyone, except Keldain. A blue circle was around them, they seemed to be inside it. Bill got up and saw that he could move. There was a slight drag to his movements, as if he was naturally stalling at everything he did. His eyes widened as he realized everything was going as slow as the very last drop of malasis dripping from a jar. A water jug was falling off the counter, and he could see the individual drops falling slowly to the ground inside of the large pieces of water floating in mid-air. \"Whats...happening\", asked Toru.

\"Larien cast a spell on us. Larien what-\", but Bill was cut off when he saw that Larien was going as slow as everything else. \"He must have cast it on us, so we can do something...\", said Toru, his voice trailing off. \"Well\", said Whitti, \"We seem to be going fast, extremely fast. Faster than that drop of water, or that guy over there.\" Whitti pointed at a small goblin in the air, as if sprawled out, with a large dagger in his fists. He had a look of anger on his face, as if he was screaming, and he was directly above them. He had been trying to kill them.

Keldain grabbed the dagger from the goblin\'s hands, but it wouldn\'t budge. \"Its not moving like us\", said Toru, studying the goblin figuring how to stop him. \"Get out your swords\", instructed Bill. They pulled out their swords and were ready to strike if neccessary. Bill got behind the goblin and raised his sword. \"How do we-\", Bill stopped wondering how to stop the spell, when he saw the same figure that was watching them enter the town, but the figure was moving as fast as them!

Bill quickly walked over to the door and saw the gleeming eyes of the figure, staring blankly at him. The voices of the others trailed off behind him, \"I heard him say the spell before we became this fast. Maybe if I say it again....Macalbriem!\", and just as fast as they were going, time sped up again and the others had quickly pulled out a chair and shoved the goblin into it and put their swords to its neck. The figure ducked away into an alley. Bill returned to the others, still wondering who the figure was.

\"Who are you?\", shouted Toru, now evidentaly wide awake. The goblin sneered and moved his eyes to everyone, and then behind Bill. Its eyes widened then smiled. \"Why don\'t you ask them\", it hissed, and nodded its head towards the door. Two Daktreme were standing, with swords in-hand.

Larien shouted \"Dastroofa Kaduum\" and tourquoise lightning hit both the Daktreme and pushed them to the ground. Toru stabbed the goblin in the chest and pushed his chair backwards. Two arrows shot from behind the counter and landed in the Daktremes\' heads. \"I am Tasador\", said a man holding a bow, \"I have seen this evil before. Its Twauron.\" He sniffed, and wipped his face. \"You must go quickly, they-\", he said but was cut off by Bill, \"We know who they are. We are trying to kill Twauron and stop this evil. If you hate this evil, will you help us?\" Tasador jumped over the counter and said, \"You have my bow in the fight against evil.\" Tasador got some of his bellongings, a few instruments to make arrows, and they hurried away.

Outside, they saw a group of eleven Daktreme, backed by about 30 orcish half-trolls, who were waiting or were disrupting the houses around them. Two Daktreme were carrying lit torches, and five of the Daktreme had bows and arrows ready. Two Daktreme with bows walked over to the ones with torches. They put their arrows into the torches and lit them up, and then aimed them at the group. They stopped and couldn\'t move because of shock. The Daktreme pulled their arrows back and shot them both at Bill\'s head.

They flew fowards, and they seemed as slow as before in the bakery to Bill. Suddenly they stopped, inches away from his face, a hand gripped tightly around both of them. It was the figure, still in his black robes, looking at the Daktreme. He threw the arrows at the ground and stepped on them to stop the fire. \"Get out, get out now!\", he shouted.

A few torches appeared behind the others, carried by several trolls. They were lit, and thrown at the town. The houses lit up, but the screams were brighter, brighter with the evil that started them.

The figure screamed, and suddenly appeared right infront of a Daktreme with a torch, and sliced a dagger into the Daktreme\'s forhead. It fell off its horse, but a Daktreme grabbed the figure and put a sword to his neck. The figure suddenly disappeared, and the Daktreme\'s head rolled off its neck.

\"He can fair for himself\", said Dorian, \"we must go.\" They got on their horses and rode away.

The figure killed as many of the Daktreme as he could, but realized there was nothing he could do to stop them all.

He stood at the gates of the village as it burned to rubble. He stared until the adventurers were out of sight. \"You\", he said, a tear in his eye, \"you brought this evil to my home, and you must pay.\" And he walked away.

*whitti rode along side the others, looking back on the village. And the man by the gate.

\"That man is as good a fighter as any I\'ve seen.\", whitti muttered. \"I will be back after you, trust me!\".

*whitti moved his horse around and charged head first into the daktreme, the blazing ruins and ash surrounding him. THen he jumped off the stallion.

whitti could see the man, surrounded by Orcish Half Trolls by the gate, stabbing for his life.  whitti hacked through the crowd of enemies with his sword, then fought back to back with the man.

The others rode on, into a range of hills, for fear of Daktreme pursueing.

As soon as whitti found a space in the crowd, he ran to his horse, pushing the man to follow. The only opening was towards a forest, the opposite direction from where the others went. They both rode on the horse, galloping from the Dakreme and half Trolls.

They did not stop for a few hours and then lay down in a small copse...

-----------------------------------
From now on any more Lord of the Rings story line will  NOT be tolerated. I will try to play a more active part in the story too. thank you, whitti (P.S. Dont say \'Sorry I didnt mean to\')

ooc: Thanks for the description, Bill. I\'m thinking sometime in the near future I\'ll start a sort of \"sequel\" to this story, which revolves around Daktreme. :D
I\'d like Larien to learn Bardmanship, preferably with a flute or piccolo.

The group rode into the hills for a few hours, until they reached the fairly flat summit. There, they finally stopped. \"Let\'s set up camp here, night will fall soon.\" Bill suggested, staring at the darkening clouds in the horizon. \"Sure,\" Dorian replied. \"I\'m so tired, I wouldn\'t have minded sleeping on stone. It was a pity though, for that town to have burned down. And I was so looking forward to a good meal!\" \"Well, can\'t help it,\" Toru said with a shrug. \"Oh yeah, it\'s your turn to look for food today, Larien.\" Larien nodded, flapped his wings and flew.

The forest near their campsite was dark and damp. Inside it, Larien found there was no space at all to fly, so he landed lightly on the ground. At first, he simply walked around a bit, familiarizing himself. There was a huge myriad of trees, some of which Larien recognized, some which he had never seen before in his life. His sharp eyes soon spotted the Eidol tree, which sported flowers in exotic colours and a delicious fruit. Realising that the fruit was located too far up, Larien used a spell. Rodka UMreod he muttered under his breath.
The whole tree rumbled. Soon, the fruits had fallen to the ground. With a ghost of a smile playing about his lips, Larien bent down and picked them up until his arms were full. Carefully, he started walking again, this time out of the forest. As he reached the opening, he noticed that the sun was just beginning to set.
The clouds changed colour, from pink to orange, then red. The sky slowly darkened. And Larien stood there, watching, entranced, unmoving.

*Flashback*
A young Klyros, barely seven years old, sat on the lush green grass, knees drawn up to his chin. He crossed his arms and placed them over his knees. A breeze gusted past, rustling the leaves.
It was silent here, not like at home where everyone would be running and shouting about, the Klyros thought. It was strange, really, that he was the only one in his family who liked watching sunsets. The others tended to think it was just a waste of time. The sun was starting to set. He shifted his attention back to the sky. The clouds painted the sky a gorgeous crimson. He sucked in a breath and waited. After a long while, the sun was gone. \"Hey kid! Get back here!\" a rough voice shouted gruffly. The Klyros turned and ran, back in the direction of the house. Until he was but a mere speck in the distance...
*End Flashback*

The sun finally disappeared beneath the summit of a hill in the distance, and the sky turned an inky indigo. The clouds were no longer visible.
\"Hey, what\'cha doin\' over there, boy?\" Dorian\'s voice broke into his thoughts. \"Nothing.\" he answered back, then walked slowly back to camp.

(ooc: sorry, I know I haven\'t contributed much to the plot or storyline. :P I\'m obessed with character building. :)) )
Okay, I just realized there\'s no night or day in Planeshift..... :(  ;( . Oh well, whatever. :P

Damn......this is the what, fourth or is it fifth time I\'ve edited this post? Lol! Anyway, since there isn\'t any night, day, sun or the where the Klyros were supposed to live in the far past, I was thinking if the PS team could make it like, there was a sun once, but then the sun died and Talad made the blue crystal.
And there was a floating island once, but due to a nat. disaster (earthquake, volcano eruption?) the island collapsed and sank beneath the sea?

Argh, am I even making sense?? ?( Anyway I think that if this adventure is going to be a part of Jayose Library, it should fit the history and everything. But if it\'s not going to be a part of the Library........well, forget everything I said here. :))

[OOC] Orrrrr we could just say there was a sun and not care about what other people say. No one ever said we were in the stalagtite (Yliakum is in a giant stalagtite I believe)

Everyone awoke with a pain in their stomachs. They had not properly eatin since they started their journey. So Bill decided that as a special treat he would prepare a delicious Ionusk for everyone to eat. \"Whats an Ionusk?\", asked Keldain. \"Its an extremely black fish with purple eyes. Probably about a fourth of my size. They are swift in the water, but without air they survive for barely ten seconds. They live in small ponds scattered accross Yliakum. They are a fairly rare fish, not rare enough to be a delicacy though. But they are as delicious as Dragon Claws\", said Bill, looking up at the sky remembering the taste of Ionusk and Dragon Claws.

Bill chopped down a small tree with his sword and made a fishing rod but it was really just a thick and cylindric slab of wood with a long string tied to it. Bill left his sword with the others, grabbed a dagger, and went to a pond nearby their camp site.

He sat on a large rock and swung his line, complete with wooden hook and a cricket as bait, into the water. He sat for a second, then began to whistle, and then started to become impatient.

It was then about fourty-five minutes later that Toru walked up to Bill. \"So where\'s your famous dish?\", asked Toru, sarcastically. \"Its coming, just can\'t get a damn bite. Hmmmm. I have an idea. Stay here\", said Bill.

Bill pulled his under shirt off, and put his dagger between his teeth. He stepped to the edge of the pond and dived in. He swam for a few minutes, and spotted an Ionusk near the bottom. He swam hard but needed some air. He reservaced and Toru stared at him. \"One second...\", said Bill, annoyed. He dove again and went straight to t he Ionusk. He swam slowly, even slower, slower still, and raised his dagger to the back of the fish and put his hand right next to it. In the blink of an eye he grabbed the fish and stabbed his dagger straight threw it. He reservaced and held the Ionusk as a show of pride. Toru gave a slight smile and threw Bill his shirt. Bill put his shirt back on, but as he did he slipped and his dagger came out of the fish and fell in the pond. \"Damn\", he said, and handed Toru the fish. He dived backed in.

He saw it in a crack near the bottom, so he swam once again down as far as he could. He reached his hand behind a small boulder, and finally touched it. He then tried again and grabbed it and pulled it out. Bill looked up and started to swim, until he saw the body of Toru fall into the pond, and just float. Bill swam as fast as he could upwards and saw that blood was coming from Toru\'s head. Bill peaked over the edge of the pond and saw a Daktreme. Bill flipped onto land and raised his dagger. The Daktreme screached and sliced its sword threw the air.

Bill fell to the ground and rolled right under the Daktreme to avoid a hit. He then stabbed his dagger into the leg of the Daktreme. He rolled again to evade and retried his dagger. He sat their, eyeing at what he thought were its eyes. He raises his dagger in the air, faked a throw, and then finally threw it into where the Daktreme\'s evil heart should have been. It fell backwards and Bill ran to retrieve the sword of the Daktreme.

It was sticking in the ground, its gleeming black handle raised. Bill grabbed the sword, but was overcome but some force he had never felt. His vision went black, and all he heard was the swirling of the cold and dark wind. He could not move, but everytime he breathed it was like being stabbed several times. Suddenly the sounds and pain ceased, and his eyes opened. The Daktreme was dead, and Keldain and Larien were bandaging Toru\'s head, Tasador had his bow ready and was watching the opening of the cave they were in and Bill was lying on a makeshift straw bed.

\"Where are we?\", asked Bill. \"Ahhh, your awake\", said Larien, \"We are in a small cave. We killed the Daktreme just as he knocked you out-.\" \"It wasn\'t the Daktreme who got me, it was his sword. It pushed its infinite evil inside me, and it was like seeing the death\'s of everyone of your friends and family. If that was just his sword, and I hate to think what Twauron has up his sleeve\", said Bill. \"Well anyways\", started Larien, \"others were coming and we raced you out of there. They are coming, faster than ever. I do not know how they know where we are. Someone is informing them, I doubt there is a traitor amongst us, so who is it?\"

\"Ummm, mesa hate to break up dis loverly conversation, but der is a lotta o\' dem orcie guys comin dis way!\" Said Tasadar.
The short, but well built, enkidukai lifted his how and shot many arrows out the cave entrance.
\" I\'m ok, I\'m ok I can fight with our new friend.\" said bill
\" Errr, i think its best you wait here, just rest a bit, we\'ll protect you.\"
Tasadar threw down his bow, \" Theysa close. By bow be no good now.\" The enkidukai reached back and pulled out a runed staff. \" Now theysa meet my ouchie stick!\"
The shortness of the enkidukai made his agile and harder to hit. He swung quick, but it took many hits to drop one of the orcish fiends. After not too long, all the others joined in to help Tasadar, but he was swarmed and fell down.
All stood in silent waiting for Tasadar to emerge. They turned around and saw Tasadar on a rock, crouching, bloody.
\" Mesa be an enkidukai. Yousa forget wesa meditate, mesa consintrate on mesa teleport, not far port, but good enough. It\'s gonna take alot more than that to take mesa down orcie orcies! KIYATAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!\"
With the enkidukai\'s battle cry, Bill felt refreshed, and picked up a sword and joined in the frenzy of bloody massacre\'s.

OOC: I think I\'ll change things, the young man fighting from the village is not tasadar, too different personality! Tasadar just came into thew story in the cave, slaying the Daktreme! The man is now a Ylian named Okrani, I will describe him in the post. BTW we ran off into some woods, in the opposite direction of you guys! Also, yes Night and day are there!

In the morning, whitti and the man awoke, exausted. Whitti stood up, and asked the Ylian male: \"What is your name and where did that fine training come from?\". The man answered: \"I am Okrani, I lived in that village, that was destroyed by Twauron. My training was from my father, Ilsa, he was one of the Octarch\'s guards, but he died a year ago from an expedition into the Labyrinth.\"

\"Well, Okrani, your father would be proud of you!\". Then they mounted their horses and rode off, towards the direction the others had gone.

The two then scanned the forest. The greenery stretched out around them, plants of many colors and birds called out. A stream ran glittering down to the west, but something was wrong, a small trace of red, merged into the river by now, stained the blue crystal clear water.

\"Okrani, look blood has been washed from upstream, we must hurry!\"...

Lol yeah. I am a LOTR fans. lol. sorta. Mostly a movie fan, the books get too boring too fast. I\'m on page 100 and they are just walking around and barely have started their adventure because they first 90 pages are about a party and describing every little detail of it. Oh and the guy\'s name is Sauron not Tauron.  :P

[OOC] Sorry Whitti. Anyways, I think I am gonna end my part in the story. Its getting repetitive (my fault) but I am just gonna go.

The group sits in the cave that is being swarmed with orcs. \"There is only one choice\", said Bill, \"Suicide run.\" Everyone nods slowly then get on their horses.

\"On three\", says Larien. \"One...two.....THREE!\" They gallop out and to the left then straight forth. The orcs follow and many Daktreme are in pursuit.

Bill\'s horse is spooked by a squirrel, and stops for a second. Larien looks back as an arrow flows swiftly in the air. It soars higher than the clouds, then dives down. Down, down, down it goes. Faster, it gains speed. Then a muffled scream as the arrow goes into Bill\'s shoulder.

He fell off his horse and shivered in pain. He pulled out his sword and rolled over. He saw a Daktreme mounted on its horse, bow in hand already with arrow poised at Bill\'s chest. Bill blinked, and the arrow sped from the bow into Bill\'s chest. It pierced his heart, and he fell backwards. He was still alive, but the pain was so fierce. The Daktreme lept from his horse and bent down to Bill. \"Fool, this was inevitable, it was your fault it must be this painful\", said a voice coming from the Daktreme. It raised its sword, screamed a piercing scream, and slashes its sword into Bill\'s head. It left his body to rot, and went back for the others.

Larien could scarely believe his eyes as he saw Bill get impaled by the sword. He wanted to scream, to tell him to get up, but his head was a blank. And even then his horse was galloping on, further and further away, until their pursurers were only dark figures in the distance, and until even they faded into the distance...
A single tear fell from Larien\'s eye.

((Ooc: All right all, NOW I?m back in the running. I have been very busy lately but now I have time enough to write: D Enjoy...
I\'m sorry to see you go Bill: ())

\"NNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!\" Keldain yelled as he saw the Darktreme slash at Bill\'s head.
Leaping from his frightened horse he ran back towards the place where Bill fell from his stead. \"What do you think your doing Keldain! Get back here!\" yelled the party as they sped off. Ignoring their cries Keldain stood defiant over the dead body of Bill and with a sharply spoken word the darktreme that felled him was engulfed in flames.   \"No! I will not let you do this!\" He yelled his challenge and with that he threw a huge ball of fire within their midst.  The fireball burst a bloody a hole in their ranks but it quickly filled in, the living trampling the dead as they made a mad charge for this new threat.   Mounted Darktreme let their arrows fly, aiming for his heart but as the arrows sped towards his body he grabbed them out of thin air with the sheer power of his mind and sent them hurtling back towards their masters.
Keldain threw bolt after bolt of pure energy at his foes but there where to many for him to handle... finally, his body steeped in sweat and his mouth and nose flowing with blood he was taken under by the mob...  the party heard a piercing yell and with a sound like that of the very earth splitting in twain a great explosion racked the land, sending up a billowing cloud of smoke....

When the smoke cleared... the small army was gone... melted armor and weapons where the only thing that littered the battlefield....

Where Keldain stood... a giant crater now loomed... a broken bundle of bloody cloths lay in its center...

((Don\'t worry guys, I\'m not leaving the story too... I just thought it would be a welcome twist to have a little confrontation...  anyone care to pick up the line of thought from here?))

OOC: Bill! How could you? I am sorry to see you leave like this.
/OOC:

Toru lays down and takes off his shirt.  He then threw it into the river nearby and watched it steam and cool down.  he then picks his shirt back up and runs over to Keldain.

\"Are you ok?\" Toru yells.

... Keldain doesn\'t answer

\"Keldain!!!\" Toru yells once more as he starts cleaning his wounds with his wet shirt.

Everyone else lay around wounded, but all was silent.

\"No!!!!\" Toru yells as he gets up and throws his sword down.

\"why did I ever have to join this quest?\" He says as he starts kicking at the dirt.
Toru then hears someone talking in the distance, and he runs over finding Larien.
\"Larien!  Your still alive!  what is it?\"  Toru exclames, and Larien hands a little parchment that he had gotten from Keldain earlier.
\"Keldain is powerful\" Larien says, \"But as powerful as that, read it underwater; I hope you have enough magic ability in your body\"

Toru runs over to the river once more and starts reading the scroll....

\" Yousa guyes better get goins. The orcie orcies are comin\' for us,\" said Tasadar
There were about a dozen Daktreme aproching the adventurers. Tasadar was notching an arrow made he made himself, bammbo with his own fur and the tips.
\" Tasadar, shoot them all down\", said enkiuyit, Tasadar\'s companion.
Tasadar could only drop about 4 before the Daktreme rushed on the men. The battle was fierce, The men were fighting out of pure anger, beacause of Bill\'s death.

Toru stood up, \"Well thats the lot of those.\"
\"um..... Mesa be going to go get some bammbosa for me arrows, be right back,\" Tasadar said.
\"WAIT!! its too dange.......\" Toru said, but Tasadar was already our of sight.

The group pressed on, not knowing where Tasadar was they just figured he would catch up. When Enkiuyit fell down.  One of the men pulled out and arrow, bammbo shaft with enkidukai fur on the end......

( that should make the story a bit more interesting)

((OOC: Dude. Tasadar. Read the last two posts, there are no more orcs. Lol... that?s why I am a bloody rag heap. Let me just get this part in :] ))

As Toru began to read the parchment he felt a slight tingling sensation running through hi body... the magic flowing through his veins like chill ice...

       \"EnraTa... Crntal-jin... Eft nourtaus.... Mithas!....\"

He held his breath, fearing that even the sound of his breathing would disrupt the spell... the tingling faded...

    And Toru waited...

              And he waited...

                               .......................

\"Grah! I should have known I wouldn?t have been able to cast the dam thing...\" And with that he crumpled up the piece of paper and hurled it into the river. With a shout, Larien attempted to catch the parchment but was unable to lest he fall headfirst into the river himself.
\"What was that for? Now what are we going to do with him? We are miles until the next town an.\" A slender hand, placed upon his shoulder interrupted him.  \"Waah?\" He said as he spun around, hand on his sword hilt ready to confront the hands owner...

      .........

Larien\'s jaw must have been hanging open... for the slender Woman standing there gave a slight chuckle, a smile playing on her sharp... but extraordinarily beautiful face.   \"Who are you?\" Demanded Toru as his jaw also dropped... his gaze held captive by this lovely sprite... at least that is what she appeared to be anyway.  Her long hair, tainted slightly blue ran down well past her divinely curved shoulders and her slender waist.

The woman simply laughed at them, a laugh akin to the babble of a summer stream, and walked past... going to the place where Keldain lay. A look of concern passed over her face... like that of a caring mother for an injured child. Keldain\'s labored breathing was apparent, as was his pale white complexion, do to the extreme loss of blood.
The woman shook her head... almost scolding as she caressed Keldains head in her arms. His breathing eased and color returned to his face and skin... his wounds closing in on them selves very much like the water on the surface of a lake, leaving only scars behind.
      Keldain slept...
The Sprite moved to where Bill lie... bowing her head in honor to the dead and easing the pained features left upon his face. She then returned to where Toru and Larien and the rest of the party stood.
Walking in front of Toru she took his hand in hers... placing a small crystal vial in his hand and then closing his fingers around it.
\"Who are you?\" Toru said again.
The sprite simply glanced back to where Keldain lay and said a single word...

    \"Mother\"

And with that she walked over to the river bank... and was gone...

Keldain sat up on his elbows, blinking against the oddly bright sunlight. \"What... what happened?\" He said, looking about the battlefield.  \"You where near death... A woman claiming to be your mother came and. heald you... she also gave me this\" He said, showing him the vial.

Keldain Laughed. \"That?s novel... Toru... Haven\'t I told you? I have no mother\"

((OOC: That should make it yet more interesting :D))
Title:
Post by: Dwinney on February 18, 2002, 05:21:06 pm
Larien glanced up in interest. \"Do you mean your mother disappeared, or that she died when you were young?\"

Keldain shook his head vigorously. \"Neither, my friend. I have no mother, at least no one told me I had. And somehow, I never expressed interest in finding out the truth. Now that I think of it, that seems strange, no?\"

Toru frowned deeply. \"Yes,\" he admitted. \"That is  weird. Do you think someone cast a spell on you?\" he suggested and leaned forward in excitement.

Keldain was getting increasingly uncomfortable about the subject. \"I don\'t know,\" was his reply, and then he changed the topic by clearing his throat and saying \"Man, I\'m so hungry, I could eat a horse!\"

Getting the drift, Larien stood up and offered to hunt a rabbit or two. He accepted it gratefully.

So, Larien caught a blessed breeze and soared up and away. Minutes later, he reached a lake and stopped momentarily to refill his empty waterskins. Just as he was bent down, a shadow fell over him. Looking up, he saw the biggest Klyros in his life! He was strangely muscular with a flashy crest on his head. Two wings that spanned at least two feet fluttered in the wind.

Without waiting for a response, the older Klyros took Larien by the hand and muttered something incomprehensible.

There was a bright flash of light, then the pair disappeared.

(ooc: this is just a ploy to get Larien to learn the skill I want him to, so he will not get hurt or anything. Please don\'t interrupt the course of my mini story, I will catch up to the group ASAP. :)  Keldain: pls read my private message and reply back :) )
Title:
Post by: Dwinney on February 19, 2002, 12:55:28 pm
Larien closed his eyes tightly as the change took place. When he opened them, he found himself in a dark cave. The older Klyros loosened his grip and walked deeper in. Curious, Larien followed.
Finally, they stopped. Just ahead, Larien saw a large array of weapons and instruments. \"Where is this? And who are you?\" he asked. The other Klyros gave a half-smile and replied \"All shall be revealed in time, Larien. Be patient.\"
\"But.....how do you know my name?\" he questioned.
\"As I said, be patient. You will know the answer - one day.\"
Frowning, Larien nodded. \"Now, choose something you would like to learn,\"
He considered for a moment, then caught sight of a small musical instrument lying in the corner. \"That, if you please.\" The Klyros followed his gaze and smiled. \"Good choice, Larien. You are indeed my-\" he caught himself and looked away.
Something strange is going on , Larien thought, but he couldn\'t put his finger on it.
\"That is a piccolo, a type of flute. Let me show you how it works.\" he placed one of the holes to his lips and blew. Beautiful, strange-sounding music poured out. Larien listened in wonderment, his whole frame swaying  in tune with the rhythm.
\"Now it\'s your turn,\"
Larien took the flute and placed it on his lips, as the other Klyros had done. He blew.
But this time, weird, rusty sounds were produced. Larien stared down at himself in disgust.
\"Let me teach you....\"

And so for several days Larien trained himself in the art of bardsmanship, until he got rather proficient with the instrument himself. Just as he was about to leave, the older Klyros finally revealed his name. \"I am Victor,\" he said, as though they were meeting for the first time. Larien, not sure what to make of this, simply nodded mutely. Victor suddenly questioned \"Are you an orphan?\" \"Yes,\" Larien said in surprise, but also with a tinge of sadness. \"My parents disappeared when I was very young. I don\'t know where they went.\" His shoulders sagged temporarily, then he shook himself up.
\"I\'ll be going now.\" he answered, mounting the steed Victor had given him the day before.
\"Alright.\"

He watched in silence at the dark loping figure until he was out of view, then murmured softly under his breath, \"Nay, you\'re not an orphan boy.\" Victor paused and smiled sadly yet again. \"I am your father.\" Then, slowly, he walked back into the cave.

Whitti! I really like your new sig~!

Anyways.. back to what I wanted to say.. no, please don\'t shut this down, me and keldain are having fun posting.

Even though people are saying that this is going into a downfall of the story...

Lets get to Kadaikos now and continue there, maybe the story will prove better.  I really don\'t think that we should stop because bill got killed, and story went a strange path.
We should deal with it! Continue, because that is how a role-playing story works :-)

I hope you change your mind, for there are other options ahead.

And, if you want the story to end right now, then lets all get teleported to a safe place, or get killed, or get sent into some dungeon and get locked up until tale proves better. Or just end the story that we stayed there the rest of our lives trying to escape but never actually making it.
Title:
Post by: Dwinney on February 20, 2002, 11:51:32 am
ooc: No, don\'t close this thread! And also don\'t end off the story by saying we stayed there the rest of our lives trying to escape but never actually making it, that would kill off my sequel, and since I\'ve already written a prologue and four chapters that\'s so NOT  going to happen!
Anyway, I\'ll get the story back on track...

Larien soon met up with the rest, and they travelled for weeks to Kadaikos, without much happening; it seemed as though Twauron had given up stopping their cause.
\"Or he might be preparing his armies for the final battle,\" Keldain warned. The others nodded in silent agreement and trudged on. Soon, they reached the Stone Labyrinths......

ooc: someone pls take it from there, I have to refresh my memory of the history of Planeshift, sorry... And I repeat, do not make any of the characters die in the final battle with Twauron. Thanks

As the travelers stood infront of the enormous gates they all collapsed from the beauty in front of them.
\"I.. I.. I..  I\'ve never seen them this close before..\" Toru says, \"Me too..\" Keldain replied.

\"Quick we must hurry!\" Larien says as he begins to try to open the gates.

OOC: From now on I am not using \" \" anymore, I don\'t have much time/OOC

Larien couldn\'t budge the gates so Toru and Keldain ran over and helped too.

They won\'t budge! Larien says, don\'t worry Keldain says as he starts looking through his spell book.

Ah! I\'ve found it! \"jyntai guhjah jentil oposituun\" Keldain says as blue and red arrows fly out of his hands and straight between the doors.

The doors slowly opened and the travelers laughed and ran inside.

Shh! Toru says as he runs deeper into the caves and smiles wonderfully at the immensely beautiful architecture inside.
