Help Needed. I have no sound in the game. The settings in setup and the in-game system are all checked. The online help suggested I do the procedure listed in 'hydlaaplaza.com/flyspace.bug#2543'. However that link will not work. In searching the bug reports I found issue#2543 and it did talk about the no sound problem but it made no reference to possible solutions. Playing a computer game with no sound is not very enjoyable. Any suggestions?

try http://www.hydlaaplaza.com/flyspray/index.php?do=details&task_id=2543 and what sound card do you have?

Thanks. That is the site I found earlier but I do not see any instructions for a simple-minded computer user to walk-thru.
My basic info is:
Realtek High Definition Audio
Windows Vista Home Premium
AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4000+ (2 CPUs), ~2.1GHz
Memory: 894MB RAM
806MB used, 1253MB available
NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430

okie, give this a try:
Find psclient.cfg in your Planeshift Steel Blue directory. Open it in Notepad and find the line that says:
System.PlugIns.iSndSysRenderer = crystalspace.sndsys.renderer.openal
and change it to:
System.PlugIns.iSndSysRenderer = crystalspace.sndsys.renderer.software
Then save the file and try to run PS.

could always use the file i changed just for this problem if it's too hard.
