The suspense is killing me! :D I've been spending time going through the forums waiting to verify my account so i can dive in, and there is so much controversy and so many complaints! Plane Shift must be amazing, be it the idea behind the game or just the general in game experience, Plane Shift manages to intrigue people while lacking detail and containing bugs with just its raw form of ingenuity and depth. I'm almost shaking in anticipation :D Hope you guys can fix this whole verification mess and let me in :D
P.S. I also sent the e-mail to Rizin :D not just blowing smoke :D

After a long break from PlaneShift, due to poor connectivity issues. I attempting to play PlaneShift again. I saw that character before 1.0 got wiped and I have changed email address in the mean time, so creating a new account.
On average how long does it take for the email to be sent for authorization?

what provider are you using for your email?
we've had many instances where peoples' providers mark the verification email as spam, or just never let it go through to begin with.
I suggest using a gmail account personally.
Also, your old account should still be active in some way shape or form. You're more than welcome to use it if you can remember the info for it. if you only remember the email you used, then you could use the retrieve password ability on the main page, assuming you still have that old email ID as well.
Although, if its been quite some time since you last logged in, the game has changed quite a bit, so a new account with anew character will let you go through the tutorial and many benefits like that, that the old account would not have.

Old email does not exist no more, though I still have the account details which do fail indicating the account no longer exists since 2005 when I last logged on.
Email server I have full control over it, so emails should get through, and email client automatically downloads email every 10 minutes.

If that is the case, then I suggest you see if Rizin is available to look into it. She's normally on the IRC room, or you can typically reach her by email or PM.
From time to time, the email portion of the server likes to sleep in, it may need to be woken up again. ;)
