I somewhat assumed that the day/night rotation period was like that for testing reasons, as well as why it rains so often, but I have no idea. I do agree that day and night should be longer. I think that it should be based on a clock like ours, only faster; for example, every 5 life seconds constitutes to a minute in the game. That is exactly 2 hours for a full rotation. Both dusk and dawn should take up ~6 minutes.

Two hours of day/night rotation sounds good. Always fun to have that. What about putting in an Age thing into the game? I realize that people would get really old, really quick... But I think it\'d be neat to be able to say \"Im 450 yrs old, I still havent seen all of the world\" :D

yea i dident think of that they had it like that for testing
im gald you agrea with me anyhow :)

what about shorter and longer days, depending on the season of the year?

Well... \"really old, really quick\"... 450 years old in the game would still represent about 40 years worth of real life time (assuming you start at 0 when you start playing PS) ;)
I think 2 hours is used in the Baldur\'s Gate series and it works quite well.

In some of the Might and Magic games (a very good series before it got stupid at about game 6... Might and Magic 4 and 5 were some of the best RPGs I\'ve ever played) there was an age stat. It was rather cool, actually. And it did take a rather long while before you got too old, and the rotation period was rather fast (especially when you camped a lot). If it goes by a 365 day cycle, 2 hours a day, then it would take a bit more than 30 days for a year to pass. So it would take 4.1 years for 50 game years to pass. That\'s not too fast at all. It would be neat to have an age, but just for reference... you shouldn\'t die by it or anything. You\'d probably start the game at age 18 or something. Maybe younger (hey, it\'s medieval times. People were considered adults at 14 back then).

hey sakiro...as we\'ve been on a bashing spree...I\'d try to bash you...but you didnt say anything dumb this time....oh cummon...a guy\'s gotta have some fun....be a bit more idiotic for me plz! :D

Huh? I didn\'t notice you bash me once, and I\'m certainly sure I didn\'t bash you... I mean, I might have disagreed on a point or two, but bashing and disagreeing are a long ways off. If you ever thought I was trying to bash you, then I apologize... (that, and I don\'t remember saying anything overly idiotic yet, either, though \'idiotic\' is in the eyes of the beholder, I suppose)
EDIT: Oh what the hey, I might as well give you some good material to work with:
