Title: Reply Request

Hi there,

I am part of a 18 people group studying computer science. We are at the beginning of a 2 year project with the topic "AI and Gaming". The goal is to make intelligent agents in a computer game. We thought that Planeshift would be a good candidate to use.
Some time ago a colleague wrote an email to several Planeshift developers. But now, after 3 weeks, there is still no reply in any form.
Getting no answer and having no contact to the people that produced the existing code is a no-go criterion for our work, and our project team starts to think about another game to use for our purposes.
But I'd still like to use Planeshift for our project, and I think you also could profit a lot from it, because somewhere in the docs here is mentioned that AI is a big TODO topic in Planeshift.
I would be thankful if someone of the developement crew could answer to us.

Best regards

Hello, what address did you send your email to?  I am not a dev, but I am a grad assistant in AI and maybe I can help you.  I strongly recommend you try Vengeance.

Keep in mind that planeshift will not use a chatter bot type AI so if that is part of your plan i dont think the devs would be interested. Also there is an irc channel you can join to get feedback as well, keep in mind that the PS team gets tons of emails per day/week and yours might have been overlooked.

Caarrie:  I think this has to do with the tribes system, not the natural language processing.  Also Venge explicitly told me to look out for people like this one because obviously some communication barrier exists between the academic research community and PlaneShift devs.  This is not the first time I have seen academic researchers complain about PlaneShift devs being unresponsive.  What happens is they go off to some conference and talk about how unresponsive the devs are, and then the directors claim they knew absolutely nothing about them.  So this is a big deal.

Please dearest community,

Alert a dev to answer questions directed at developers before responding with whatever you've heard.

Much Love,

XilliX.
