It heals damage and cures the "hunger" buff.  Some food is poisoned.  Some will make you larger, the other makes you small.  When you've leveled after a while, you'll find it doesn't do much at all.  Go ask Alice when she's ten feet tall.

Penquin i would suggest you make a post with more then one line to it, also we have a spoiler rule on the forum for a reason so that people ask questions ingame, remember we have a help channel ingame you can ask ooc questions in. Not that this topic is a spoiler, but what food items do what is getting pretty close imo.
