Title: to begin is to end

just today I tried to play the game, it went black and I got a message saying 'something unexpected happened in planeshift: steel blue details EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION at 00522E33' and then it asked me if I wanted to save a diagnostic file

after it said:
saved dump file to 'C:\Program Files \PlainShift_Version_Nov 30 2008_Addr00522E33.dmp'

and then it went away

I don't understand what you mean by system stats?
do you mean what kind of comp I'm using?
I'm using a Microsoft Windows XP laptop pentium4

there is no standard hardware that xp runs on. so ask around and find out how to get your system stats on your machine it will make helping you much easier.

Great news, I got it working by updating my planeshift client
but your right, I should check into getting the details

I have this problem too.  But if it was the graphics why doesn't it crash the first few times you play. I have been back and forth to the library and into the sewers but now when I go to Ojaveda(?) It has crashed on the way there right at the point where new location is reloaded. Now it just tries to put me in the new location and crashes again.  Should I uninstall and reinstall or just create a new character (I kind of liked the old one)?

You can right-click on my computer, select Properties, and then click on the Hardware tab.  Then click on the Device Mangler, I mean Device Manager.  There you can find out exactly what hardware you have.

It may help to upgrade your video card drivers.  If you need help with that, let me know.

I have xp with pretty up todate video although it is a radeon xpress 200. I have been to the death realms, the sewers and the library and no major crashes but when I go to Ojaveda for the lamp fuel I crash major with this notice and when i try to log that character on it just does that again. Essentially a trip to Ojaveda is a death for my character as I can no longer play it.
