anywhere there are shadows.  And I turned shadows off
The stairs to the tavern in hydlaa are completely black and the forest is compltetely black

[edit]

a screenshot would be pointless.  If you know what a black screen looks like there's your screenshot.

Have you tried -fullbright?  I stopped using it because when the game is working properly, the lighting looks really good, and -fullbright makes everything boring, but if it's a lighting issue then -fullbright has been known to solve lighting issues.

News to me.  Thanks for the tip!

Is there any way for end users to get it working again?  I used to use it all the time when I encountered darkness bugs.

no it will NEVER work again due to map changes nothing the end user can do to get it working again.
