Title: But what if the game was installed in (Vista) programfiles to begin with?
Post by: Wudinna on March 16, 2009, 04:24:07 pm
I haven't been to Planeshift in a while and now when i try to login my client keeps saying that i don't have the latest version etc. even after running the updater several times.

In the mean time i've downloaded the repairer and moved the new exe. to the targetmap.
But still no login.

So now i started to read the message by Caarrie and read that i shouldn't instal PS i Programfiles because i run on Vista...............................................................................
(link to subject...) ::|

Hence this topic

I have also opened updater.xml and tried to find the liine that says <config active=false> but i can't find it (ctrl-f)
And maybe it's me, but why is this document filled with a lot of "linux" and macosx lingo?

(my computerknowledge is pretty basic, so keep it simple please)

PSclient and updater have admin-privs. Could you please read my addition to the first post?

dont worry about editing updaterinfo.xml or even reading it. the info about mac and linux is for those that run those os's so they can update as well. keep in mind the post you read has a warning on the top of it that it is mostly outdated.

  (sorry for the long message)

Do i need to uninstal the previous version or wil the new version overwrite the old one?

just run the updater again after closing it a few times that should fix it.

i think i've tried that for about a 100 times now, but i'll keep on trying.

Downloading the new client as we "speak", but i have a terrible connection at the moment (6hours on 362 mb???!!!OMG), so i'm gonna leave it for now and come back in an hour or so.
Maybe a reboot will do the trick

Thanx for you help :thumbup: anyway and if i have more information or questions i'll be back.
