okay here goes...
Madoring is willing to offer any new PLayer that comes to the server (EZPCUSA) a free set of swords to help build their PP's. The swords will only be around a Q of 150. but I hope to at least get a few players to migrate to the test server.

Unless I missed something, (and it has been a little while...) Nothing new has been addded to ezpc to make it worthwhile to go and play with it, test it out and what not.
Can we wait until their is s a significant amount of difference that the testers want to test out, before we call it a failure? let me know if you have, i dunno, anything significantly different on ezpc you need tested out. Last I checked playing there was exactly the same as on fragnetics, except less people.
Also, last I checked, when you register for an account, the page you would navigate to would register you for fragnetics. I understand the RP clan want to keep the numbers high, but why not let the new players decide where they want to go, before we determine it for them? For all you know, many who register on fragnetics and play for 30 minutes, never to be seen again, MIGHT stick around if they had been allowed to sign up on ezpc (as opposed to having to spend what, a couple hours reading old posts in the forums until they trip across it?).
I can not check today to see if the registration page is navigatable to from planshift.it (websense blocks it at work) but I was assured I would be told when it was... and I haven't been.
I agree, all things being equal, EZPC will have a hard time being a stand alone game. Um, I thought it was so the devs could test things out without harming the RP on fragnetics anyways... It was never meant to be a offshoot, was it?
So, devs, let us know when you have something to test out, esp something in particular, and you will find Bamko and his freinds (and others, I am sure..) there to check it out for you. So want to test out pets? have it ready to go, post something like "Hey guys, run updater... install this file in such and such and try out your pets. Reply here with what you find out!"
I check these forums almost every day... But pardon me if I do not still log in every day.
will expc ever be as populated as fragnetics? not if we keep it hidden from new people and there is no incentive to start over there and there is nothing new to see there. (IMO)
Now, put link to it with short explaination next to link to register for fragnetics, add all sorts of chaotic new things to test there first (less stable, but "hey, look-y me, I can fly!!!!") and I bet you will find more people living there.
Mathy: I do not see how "I hope the 'other test server' that is used for non role players should always be less populated or hopefully have no players on it at all. " follows. If ezpc had 0 players and fragnetics had 30... would that be better than Fragnetics having 400 and ezpc having 1000? Why must one fail for people to believe the other is a success? Also, I think having a community to allow the testers to test the edits with more varibles would help fragnetics in the long run. Trust me, RP on fragnetics is not being hurt by the massive influx of players on ezpc. How many are there on average? 3-4? and those are probably being "shadowed" by characters playing for real on fragnetics... I know when i play ps, if I can not find something fun, I often log into ezpc and grind while I keep an ear open on fragnetics (not last few weeks... but you get my drift).

Wrong forum, there is nothing to discuss in this thread. Please move to http://www.hydlaaplaza.com/smf/index.php?board=64.0

Ezpcusa is not a test server, it is a non-rp enforced server. I guess the devs like to check out if having a non-rp server will attract different players, and/or keep Laanx more RP oriented, just to keep everyone happy.
Ezpcusa used to be the test team test server, with a copy of Laanx data updated to trunk, so we could test things we cannot on our own servers. We know have other means of testing. If we need to test things on a current server (for example to confirm bugs), we will still do that on ezpcusa as us standing silently at a spot repeating something will look less out of place there :).
About adding new things there: small updates to the server are put on ezpcusa first, especially fixing serverside bugs. You should not notice this though, unless you had a bug that is now gone. Adding bigger things is generally done in a release for both servers, but somethings may be enabled on ezpcusa first. It is not the reason the server exists though.
Hope this helps.

I'd like to add to lanarel post a list of recent things which were put before there.
- 2 flags for gm of which one was used in a recent event on laanx (givekillexp and attackable) ezpcusa had those first and time was took to test it before putting upstream on laanx
- I tried to enable a possible fix for the characters model bug (aka klyrosf becoming klyrosm and races changing). Unfortunately it brought more drawback. There is another fixed version but till it gets sent to clients it can't be tried (on laanx this is disabled and on ezpcusa it was disabled after the big issues were found)
- Some npclient fixes and db tests before sending them on laanx
yes in this precise instant there are no differences (except the obvious one) but in the past there were for some times updates before there as you can see from the example, and maybe in the future there will be bigger ones for a certain period... who knows...

Madoring...I'd like to test a few things out myself over on ezpc...do a little hands on training duel training with Auslorrod too...
I'll try and pop in a little more regularly...Auslorrod could use a new weapon. :)
I'll add you to the buddy list and keep an eye out for you.
perhaps we can get some duel training going over there...pretty clueless myself...would like to fix that though. maybe some experienced duelers would like to come over teach me a bit. Or, at the least have fun beating me to the ground over and over... :surrender:

I'm actually tempted to join ezpcusa for the LOLguilds, like Cult of XilliX.
Considering RP isn't a requirement, there's more leeway for humorous imagination and sillyness. Might as well take that rather than some swords.
Is the tutorial for ezpcusa different?
-
marginally, the last npc has slightly different dialog unless it was changed back.

Ah, good, as would be expected.
Might join if I can ever be bothered (got lots of other work outside of PS on computer to do lol)
