Title: When will final game come out?

One thing you have to realise is that we are a group of voulenteers. Game companys with budgets that are easily within the 4million$ ranges and that have 30+ staff still take on average 4 years to complete a game. and there making the game 24/7... this might make you cringe thinking that well take 8 years or more to make PS, but i personnaly think it will be a couple of years.

Patience is the key... once the first demo is done well be working on teh next demo and so on. So rather than having to wait for the completed game to come out before you can play, you will be able to play the game as it grows and gets more and more added to it right up untill completion of the project (i think, dont qoute me)... Although the main problem with that is you might get bored with it... but to stop that well have to limit what teh demos show you for content, so there will still be alot of new stuff to experiance when it is finaly completed.

No negativity at all :D , I am really enjoying seeing and hopefully being a part of PS from this early stage and I have no disillusions about when the game is due to be complete.

I love seeing these things as they are developing. I don\'t think people will get bored (well, some may do), I think we have the beginings of a really nice community here and that is also a vital part of the PS project. There is no game, no demo and yet we are all spending time here - I think that says something ;)

if we start playing from the fist minute of the first demo, and play an avarage of 25 minutes a day, when the final game is out, we will be like level 8993284028402398409238094823 . and we can kill newbies!! mwhahaha

just imagine how everyone will adore us strong people in acoupel of years ... :] :) :D :))

Post by: Zink on February 03, 2002, 04:58:07 am: i dont think we realy plan on havint a \"final Version\' so to speak, we have more of a target version. we hope to get the game to a point were if we wanted to we could stop. but i dont think that we will ever stop even after we hit that target point we will attempt to grow and improve the game. so yes i say two years is a reasonable time to say that we will hit that final target, but we will never have a final Version.

Course the closed demo stats won\'t be transfered ;) Thekkur said that the players would be given high lvls to test - wouldn\'t really be fair if they were transfered to the game would it!

I believe the demo is online and is basically a, have a look around, have a wander and have a chat type demo :))

Post by: corsairk8 on February 08, 2002, 11:49:22 pm: Thats very unlikely, the game wont be made final until its working reliably and has been extensively tested with ALL of its stats and skills, and is balanced correctly by a fairly large number of beta testers.

The final game (the one after the beta has been finished and tested) will probably arrive in 5 or 6 years from now, but its hard to give an exact date...
