It is a little far for me but the lineup looks pretty good. I do hope all those foreign artists [Neil Young, Crosby Stills and Nash among others] enjoy having their biometrics added to the British Governments database as, what was it, migrant workers!" A situation this poor Canadian (http://www.cbc.ca/arts/music/story/2009/05/25/crowe-britain.html) found out to her dismay.

Holy smokes.

"A group of U.K. activists is opposing the new laws, saying the rules are intrusive and will result in damage to cultural and civic life."

Yeah!  Just a little!

Some of the comments are interesting:

"Why would any musician need permission to tour?
*******************************************************************
For the same reason anyone else requires permission to work in a foreign country. But that's not the problem here. Its the administration of this rule (abusive treatment, lack of proper notification) and possibly excessive requirements to get permission."

This is in fact old news but I have not seen it affect an artist before, many technicians have encountered this problematic legislation while on tour across the entertainment industry. It is a great concern for many promoters?
Is this anti terrorism or a case of British jobs for British people? I hope it is the first myself, or maybe Equity and Bectu have become more powerful trade unions than we think.

Back to the topic at hand,  this is the lineup (http://www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk/line-up/) Quite an impressive roster for a 3-4 day event. Is it the biggest venue for concerts in the British Isles or is that other one -- forget its name bigger? This one is on some manorial estate correct?

He he! Prolix, Manorial estate indeed. The event is held on a Dairy Farm in SW England. largest music festival in Europe so they say! I think you are thinking of Knebworth?

ah yes thats the one. I could only think of Wembly but I knew it wasn't that.

Quacky Quip removed.

I'm still not going to Glastonbury until they drain the puddle between Canada and the UK -- or until the ghost of Lord Nelson throws down his cape for me to walk on.

How about you Mord.?  :P

bad Prolix for promoting an untrue stereotype there is rarely any violence in English football these days not like the bad times of the 70's and 80's, in fact even back then the Dutch, Germans and Italians had similar problems just not as widely advertised in the news.
