Title: Strange Graphics Issue
Post by: Pheer on June 02, 2009, 11:27:35 pm
Hey everyone,

I have a strange graphics problem which can best be described by these screenshots:

(http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/6466/screenshot3q.th.png) (http://img222.imageshack.us/my.php?image=screenshot3q.png)
(http://img54.imageshack.us/img54/2696/screenshot4d.th.png) (http://img54.imageshack.us/my.php?image=screenshot4d.png)

As you can see, items are being drawn to the screen, but not removed when they should be. I have an Intel X3100, which I've read might not be supported, so that could be the problem, but I'm hoping there's some other solution. I haven't been able to play the game yet due to this glitch. I ran the updater and looked at all of the stickied threads, but couldn't find anything to solve my problem. I'm running Linux Mint 7 Gloria, if that makes any difference. Thanks for the help.

please provide the Xorg version and the graphics driver+version you are using.

Some of our devs work on the intel issue as far as I know, so providing them with more info might help them as well as others to help you if there already isa fix for your issue.

Thanks.

I have the same problem, my card is Intel GM965 (I think also known as X3100)
Here's what Xorg -version says:

Code: [Select]

Build Date: 22 June 2009  11:33:28AM
xorg-server 2:1.6.1.901+git20090622+server-1.6-branch.dbac41b6-0ubuntu0sarvatt~jaunty (buildd@rothera.buildd)

And here is my graphics driver:

Code: [Select]
(II) Loading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers//intel_drv.so
(II) Module intel: vendor="X.Org Foundation"
compiled for 1.6.1.901, module version = 2.7.99

Same problem here too.

Running openSUSE 64 bit (had the same issue on 32bit, i just changed a few days ago) open source radeon drivers. X.Org X Server 1.6.5
I should note that when in Gugrontid, the paths move along the screen when turning. But the fields not, they appear static and look like the mousepointer in the example above.

Try use proprietary drivers. If you have radeon card, the name of driver is fglrx. It solved many graphics problems on my Ati Radeon Mobility X300. I don't know the name for other manufacturers, but there should be something too.
