Title: [Guild] The White Corps [Heavily Updated]
Post by: kiou on July 14, 2009, 07:02:51 pm
Ranking system:

Trainee- The trainee is the rank of new members, these are members in training and should learn all they can from their seniors. [The newcomer, all new members are automatically set to trainee. The job of the trainee is primarily training and recruiting. To recruit, however, the trainees must refer players to people with higher ranks. This is the default class and therefore has no requirements.]

Squire- The ones who have proven themselves, but havent finished their training yet. [The most common rank, given only to members who have proved themselves to be useful in some way to the guild. This rank requires that the members have proven themselves to be useful to the guild, and loyal members. The requirement is 10gp. The person must also be passed over by a Leader.]

Soldier- The soldier is the soldier rank, or grunt rank. [The first of the progression ranks, the member has to continue to assist the guild, but must also have proven themselves as capable. Requirements are 25 gp, and at least 10 total levels in combat skills, jobs, or the ways. Stats must also total 400+.]

Artisan- These are the ones who specialize in a certain job or skill. [This is the jobs rank, more specifically for crafters and smelters. However any craft profession falls into this group. The requirements are 60gp and at least 45 levels in crafts.]

White Knight- These are important assets to the guild. They are the fighters. They fight the wars and preform missions.  [This is a specialized rank for the elite fighters. They compose two groups: Defensive and Offensive. The requirements are 75gp, and at least 60 levels in combat. Mages may count levels in the ways as levels in combat. There is a rank between this and the Leaders. Those are the Beacons, there are never more than 7, and it is they who are the elite. Beacons must be appointed by a Leader.]

Vice Captain - These are the second in commands of their squads. They can invite and remove in their squad.

Captain - These are the leaders and founders of the guild. These are the leaders of their individual squads. They have full powers over their squad and some over the rest of the guild. [Leaders of the guild. The squad captains use this rank. This rank is appointed.]

Beacons - The most elite fighters, and personal bodyguards of the Captain-Commander. [This rank is earned by trial in combat.]

Arch - The leader.

Complete Hierarchy:
trainee
squire
soldier
artisan
white knight
vice-captain
Captains
Beacons
Arch [GL]

GP system:
recruiting gets someone 1 GP, when the recruit ranks to Squire, the recruiter gets 4 additional GP

donations [increments of 5k only]:
amount - GP
first donation [5k] - 1

25k - 1

50k - 2

75 - 2

100 - 2

each additional 100k - 3

limit is at 1.5 mil right now

other ways:
helping, at a Leaders's discretion

missions, at a leader's discretion based on the mission

joining the forums gets you one gp [no doubling].

*Important, Until someone reached 25 gp, their gp is doubled. Rather all gp earned until the 50 gp mark is doubled. This system was made by myself, with the help of a newer member, and we all agree it has a nice balance, and helps lower ranks advance more quickly.

Career:
Now our ultimate goal is the safety of yliakum, we can still be hired as a private army, or for bodyguard missions. I realize this isnt the most original goal, but we arent a dormant guild. We are active and you will see us around.

History/goal:
In the last few years before Laanx's return, a few high-ranking politicians met together to discuss the situation in Hydlaa. With all the new people pouring into the city, and with the rumours of Laanx's return, they decided they needed some order, they needed a group with both economic power and raw force. They left that day pleased with their decision, they had created the Black Leaderorps. They hired one experienced adventurer as their commander-in-chief, and set up three commanders below him. These were in charge of the recruiting for the group, the economics of the group, and the police faction. Unfortunately, the politicians decided that the Leaderorps was becoming too powerful, and decided to put an end to it. They used their power to hire assassins to slowly kill off the guild, and they eradicted all but the commander-in-chief. He was sorely wounded and was almost dead when his family found him. They took care of him but he died of complications of his wounds three weeks later. 100 years later his great-grandson Kiou found a box with a letter from the original commander. The box contained a opal-encrusted longsword and a letter. The letter stated that he had wished for someone in his family to continue the legacy. Kiou decided he would continue the Black Leaderorps and created the guild.

Recently Kyonum has changed his ways, no longer an assassin, kyonum and his guild are now offering services in protection, and have their own agenda to protect yliakum. And Kyonum has changed his guild to accommodate his new beliefs. Ages ago this group held amazing power, and now with the beacons and Leaders Kyonum is going to return us to that kind of power.

Goal:
Recently Kyonum has changed his ways, no longer an assassin, kyonum and his guild are now offering services in protection, and have their own agenda to protect yliakum. We are training and recruiting the next generation, including the new beacons and Leaders.

*NOTES*
We are an rp guild, and an ingame guild. We do both!
We need to update our website and forums, but the people who are in charge of those seem to be missing...
When someone reaches the epitome of their class, they become a master *rank*. E.G. when an artisan maxes his crafting he becomes a Master Artisan.

We now operate in a squad system, we have as many squads as necessary, with as many captains as necessary.
Squad #1
captain - Madiye
vice captain - Thyor

Sqaud #2
captain - Vayl
vice captain - un-assigned

We are still working on our various systems, but youll see us rping in the city for sure!

One thing that I've learned is that one without high commitment towards the guild should NOT be able to recruit. I don't know many institutions that let the ''outsiders'' recruit new ppl... As for the the Gp exclusive ranking, well, I've seen it fail too many times so I suggest that you make some ranks to able to be rached through actual promotions instead of stat and skill (opinions that are just my own). How do the characters ICly know when they get promoted if you're using only Gp method? Maybe you could have a test after the training program to have the members reach full membership like in real armies. How is it neutral to have an agenda that if you oppose gets you destroyed?

ok so

1. only Cs and up can recruit, lower levels refer people to Cs, thats how it works, then the lower level member gets his gp.

2. Gp has been a part of all ranks in every guild ive been in it works fine

3. people reach slunk by joining, to reach initiate they must pass the test and have 10 gp

4. there is a promotion rp element, but gp is the equivalent of what i think of people IC as guildies.

As a player I would probably ask the following questions before joining a guild.
It would be intesting to hear your response to some of these.

"What does your guild offer its members aside from a guild tag to hang under their name and a ranking system ?"

"Do you have experienced players that are well versed with the settings ?"

"Do you have experienced players that know how to roleplay properly and that are capable of teaching/correcting newer players ?"

"Are you more roleplay oriented or leveling oriented ? (and how much of each ie. 50/50 ? )"

"If you are more leveling oriented, do you have highly skilled players that can guide less skilled players? In what areas are their expertise ?"

"Do you have experience organizing in-game events or at least have some members or outside resources that do? "

"How well are you connected with leaders of other reasonably good roleplaying guilds ?"

ok

We do things like loans for training, and help in general. Of course we also are still new, but we do try to do some rp events and in general we do offer opportunities and help.

"Do you have experienced players that are well versed with the settings ?"

we have some players who have been playing for a while, im fairly well versed while thyor seems to know everything...

"Do you have experienced players that know how to roleplay properly and that are capable of teaching/correcting newer players ?"

We indeed have a few players who are rpers, i do the general array of rp stuff, dnd, this, etc. so yes, and of course being a newer guild we dont have 150 people who have rped for dozens of years but yeah definitely.

"Are you more roleplay oriented or leveling oriented ? (and how much of each ie. 50/50 ? )"

right now we are rp/pl 25/75, we are mostly new and small, but we have plans which we will go through with and i hope to reverse that ratio.

"If you are more leveling oriented, do you have highly skilled players that can guide less skilled players? In what areas are their expertise ?"

We have some pretty experienced combat people, and duelers, not too many craftsmen, but not too much so, however we have friends who are advanced in most ways and i ask all my friends and check all my resources to help my guildies.

"Do you have experience organizing in-game events or at least have some members or outside resources that do? "

I have some, and some ally guilds do heavy rp, which sometimes some of us participate in, its kinda hard to run events with 10 people... But we have the qualification test! thats 100% rp

"How well are you connected with leaders of other reasonably good roleplaying guilds ?"

i consider all of KJ my friends, i was with them for a while. Etracea and vvallace are good friends of us, and i have talked with dragnoor a bit. Dragnoor is of course a beast, and we arent friends i dont really know him, but he isnt against us at all. TDWM members have had good relationships with us, and bad... But yeah pretty well for a newer guild!

thanks for asking!

The Nexus is a PL guild, mainly OOC, and Vvallace's guild is a PL guild that pretends it is an RP guild, I'd consider the outlaws.. Knowledge Seekers.. good RP guilds.

announcing the first weekly or so TBC qualification test!
"ingame book as follows"
ANNOUNCING THE FIRST WEEKLY THE BLACK CORPS QUALIFICATION TEST

The test is a series of challenges, or stages. Everyone who wants to participate is welcome. Depending on the number of participants the test can be up to 4 stages long. The first test will be held [thursday the 23th], at [2200 GMT]. The challenges will be secret till they happen, this is to avoid preparing beforehand. To participate just be at Kada Els Tavern at the start time. Questions can be sent to Kyonum [kiou]. If you fail you can retry later. This is now the only way to join TBC. To join another time just tell me, and then participate in the next test.

Thank you, any and all harm you suffer during the test, is not TBC's problem. We have no obligation to tell you what the test will be like.

[
Please read the forum on TBC for more updated new, the date may be subject to change

As usual contact myself to hire TBC for jobs, we do assassinations, kidnapping, guard jobs, and theft. For an army for hire or more of a bounty hunter deal contact Earowo.

Do ya now! Assassinations, kidnapping, guard jobs, and theft, hmm, just a little suggestion, for, uhh, those kind of guild jobs, is holding open tryouts the best idea? if your looking for a 'good RP front' I'd give stuff like this some thought, on the OOC front, your guild's lookin dandy.
