Well, let's get the disclaimer over with: I am not an artist. :P This may excuse what follows, but perhaps not all that much...
(If you're feeling faint already: don't worry. Just skip straight to the pyrography)
On a rather lengthy afternoon (yesterday), I had the idea of meddling with the PS textures. Whoops. After some initial meddlings with the Akkaio fenki, I decided upon the female Dermorian - I would attempt (being the operative word) to extend the clothing slightly. Whoops. It ended up much more complicated than I'd intended, but my ingame result's below:
Overview:

Detail: (Some of my work is visible here)

(If anybody wants the .dds files, just ask and I'll post them in the thread. Wasn't sure if anyone would want the actual textures)
(Added: Bottom half of clothing, ornamentation, additions to jewelry, colour and lighting adjustments)
Yes, I know: I really AM bad at textures. :P
Here's a quick alteration for a box that I had a go with: (Again, BAD!)
(Added lighting, glass + stained glass (etc), indent and gem)
(The overrun is intended. :))

Oh, and just to reiterate. ;) I am VERY BAD at texturing, so no need to be kind.
And, for those of you with faint constitutions, some pyrography of mine.

(*The photograph is always slightly incorrect, so...)
Comments and (thankfully) criticisms are massively appreciated!

This is supposed to be bad? Thanks helping women be less naked in PS. Enkis would like more clothing too. Nolthrirs could use some as well.
-
* Rigwyn steps forward and attempts to hold back a grin as he speaks. "I agree on the clothing issue and would like to propose stiletto heels, miniskirts and string bikinis for starters"
-
I'd like clothing that covers more. It gets cold sometimes. Rigwyn, objectifying is FTL.

Thanks for the comments. :) I'll upload the .dds files later!
I've been adding some more modifications to the female dermorian.

(Colour hasn't just been changed to blue. :) I've made some mofications to the jewelry, altered highlights (etc), changed the string to metal, added and altered decoration)
Here are the actual textures (in JPG format, I'll post the .dds' tomorrow/later)

Any comments (and criticisms) are welcome!

Dude. You should have sent this to the devs to look at. You're really good.

Thank you for the comments! :) You're very kind, but I doubt that.

Again, all comments are much appreciated!

Nice stuff! I really like your textures! Seriously ... have you thought about joining the team?

Thanks! Unfortunately, I'm too young for that... :) But I'd like to apply when I'm able to.

The start of an experimental head: (Ouch! :whistling:)
(Yet unfinished. :) I know there are mistakes - it's an initial attempt, and I am a complete novice)

As always, all comments appreciated!

Saying that all oddness is intended is avoiding critique in general. ;)
It might be a good idea to start with modeling a mesh, to define the overall shape in something other than z-brush.
Z-Brush isnt very good for defining large gestures like the jawline, setting back the eye sockets or compressing that ball you started out with to the shape of a skull. It lacks precision and the result looks blobby. Once you have the defined the basic shape it is almost impossible to go back and change it, so you should work more on it before adding any details like eyebrows. You should also looks for some reference images that devide the head into simple planes, to see the breaks in form. Patting your face on the front and on the sides also helps. The break in form is much sharper than most people realize. This form is one more reason to not use z-brush for the overall shape - its just very hard to redproduce it with brushes.

You're right, it does sound like that. ;) It wasn't intended to, just that there are certain oddities that were intended.
Again, I'm a complete novice to this - thus the thread title! Thanks for the comments, Crj, and I'll try and improve it a little with regards to that, try and make it a little less "blobby". :) I know there are mistakes, though, and this is just a preliminary attempt.

 - I am as serious as peeg.
