Title: Error while updating..

Hi;
I\'ve got a problem while running the updater.. I\'ll type exactly what appears in the black screen ..

\"Warning: Couldn\'t load cached registry: Error loading registry file \'/this/updaterregistry.xml\'
Downloading registry from http://www.planeshift.it/updater/repository.xml\"

after this, I get the following message in the same screen..

\"Done.
Couldn\'t download updateregistry from server:
Error while downloading: Connect failed
Press a key to continue.\"

So can anyone please help me? this happens all the time.. and I\'m sure I havn\'t lost my connection every time or something? I\'ve got connection through a router, maybe that has somethin to do with it?
anyway, I really hope someone can help me.

You should download this:
http://www.planeshift.it/updater/repository.xml
Rename it to updaterregistry.xml and place it in your Planeshift main directory.

updaterregistry.xml is meant to determine wether your files are outdated or not (list of size, timestamp and md5-code).  :D

Okay, rightclick the link, then leftclick \'doel opslaan als\' / \'save target as\'.
next: browse to your planeshift directory and enter \'updaterregistry.xml\' as filename, then click \'opslaan\' / \'save\'..  :D

oh, & odin has the very same error..
strange eh?
any other idea\'s?? \'updaterregistry.xml\' right? I evern tried \'updateregistry.xml\'.. but that didnt work either

Lemme guess, you need to go through a proxy to connect to the net (telenet user perhaps)? The updater doesn\'t know how to use proxies yet...  ;(

the good news is the first part of the error has dissapeared; now I get this message after clickin the updater ;

\'Downloading registry from http://www.planeshift.it/updater/repository.xml\'

after that its the same thing again tho..

any clues?

Can you dial in using a different connection?
Or you could ask one of the devs really nicely if they can make an updater that can handle proxies, or maybe you can update manually?

okey, I\'ve sent a mail to the director.. He might be able to help me.. hope so..
anywayz, sorry for the double post I did a few posts ago.. :-) and thanks for the help you\'ve already given me. I\'ll let you know if I get a responce.
