I think 1 server is better for a persistent world. However, Planeshift is different. The name itself, along with the slogan, \"A Universe is not enough\" imply that there will be multiple universes eventually. Perhaps they will be different, though.

Well, with the current bandwidth and CPU usage, the server should be able to have >4000 people playing at the same time. Of course, that will change in the future versions.

At the moment we don\'t really have a good idea of what the one server can hold.  It seems to be very good so far on the CPU usage and bandwidth so we can only hope that it can survive many more people.   So any guess now would be pretty much just a stab in the dark. :)

Actually, Denethor, it\'s only Ruuuuuuunescape that doesn\'t work. :D

Btw, acraig - Shush! :D Don\'t tell me I\'m wrong, when I\'m the supreme ruler of the universe, okay? ;)

Somehow I have my doubts about that - My guesstimate would probably be a couple of hundred. There seems to be a lot more capacity available anyway so it\'s anybody\'s guess.

I believe one server will support somewhere around 500-1000, based on the current utilization and what else we are doing to the design.
