I have the same problem that I found on this forum dated last december if Iresearch the violation number
EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION at 00577C36 by Hawin
... with this problem . please.

and a file is ...... the FOLDER: Planeshift Steel Blue\Addr00577C36
and tells me to contact the forums.
But I dont see any answer that I might try! Mt problem.. is exactly the same and I am sure it has to do with windows XP
I can't enter the game...and I have tried many times with all the characters and on the two servers..and I keep getting this exception_access_violation at 00577C36. Can someone tell me what to do please! Will I have to erase everything and forget about Capilon's hard earned high stats and lot of working levels in combat and crafting? And what about the Guild I belong too...oh please Help me!
I cannot even talk to guild companions. I am not allowed in and when I tried again a window pups up and tells me Capilon is already logged...and to come back in 30 seconds...It looks very mysterious to me?

Firstly, you can throw your PC in a crusher and your character data will still exist, they are stored on the server you created them on, so Laanx or EZPCUSA> Reinstalling is always a first step when it comes to Windows and will not affect your character at all.
Secondly, don't just say that your issue is the same as someone else's, you must either link that post in this one, or tell us what your issue is yourself.
I would suggest you open the pssetup application (in the planeshift menu on your Start menu) and disable Vertex Buffer Object, that may well help you.

Thank you! Uninstalled, erased all application data files and the other files that remained on the programfiles under Planeshift after the uninstalled action. Then reinstalled Planeshift that was in my download, and everything is now almost perfect. I lost only my personal shortcuts and my personal book...Which is a small lost. Thank you, I will remember your advice if ever it happens again. When your answer came I had already took what I imagined the last resort and was ready to start at the beginning. I was enchanted to find Capilon alive and kicking and with all his hard earned levels and high stats. Thank you again!
Being such an old newbiie in computer, I am surprised I could do that myself and I think I did, just because I love Planeshift so much!
ps I still get booted out almost every time I enter or leave the Winch, and passing from Hydlaa to East Hydlaa is very often another booted out occasion. Maybe there is an answer for this somewhere, but I did not find it. Probably I dont know the proper vocabulary for it, neither in english nor in my own language (french). Thank you again for your time and precious advice!
