About our history, and background, the true story of Masters of Move
Perlan, Grandmaster of the Masters of Move
-
My post will not please all, and it's intention is not spiteful or a flame.
1. I read your guild description, and here are some mistakes to correct:
-OOC and IC are not seperated.
-Many spelling errors.
2. You're guild credo is to stand up for the oppressed and fight against injustice.
Fantastic. The "Stand up for the oppressed" theme. There is absolutely nothing wrong that.
Here is my beef perlyboy; When the masters of move were hunting down people in the plaza, did it strike you as contradictory to your credo? When you challenged a guild to a war on the forums, did it strike you as contradictory to your credo? Just consider that, please. A guild's past is not easily forgotten, especially when the oppressor suddenly defends the oppressed. You cannot change your guild's past and abruptly join the ranks of Yliakum's defenders. Having done one thing, and saying the opposite is not consistent whatsoever, and frankly it's obvious hypocrisy. The slate isn't wiped clean.
I see some good points in your description, such as the notes of friendship and help you provide your members.
This is not meant to offend, and it is constructive criticism.

@1 there is no OOC information
@2 we do not hesitate to wage war on the abnoxious
Overall, that is the only known and written history of the Masters of Move, none of it was made up, no past was changed in the books. It is simply our history.
As far as spelling is concerned: please show it to me in a PM or so..
Note: all stated here is OOC
-
This game is about role-playing. You have to understand the difference between In Character (IC) and Out Of Character (OOC) communication. If you are not sure, ask someone to explain.
@1 there is no OOC information
And so it came to pass that under the lead of Perlan Cernun a few friends formed the Masters of Move on the 13th of October 2007.
and just for extra lols...
we will most likely understand and have good diplomatic skills to solve the situation. [...] They will resolve the matter, or they will kill the one being offensive or rude to you.
-
fair enough Van... ;D
There is only a IRL date on the main page that is OOC
-
The fact that you have not taken to heart my criticism, is not a problem. That in your rebuttle, my point of hypocrisy was not addressed is suprising. It dissapoints me frankly, that you think my post was about spelling errors and OOC/IC blurring together.

Welcome to Perlan's PlaneShift, where OOC=IC, PLing = RPing, and if you don't agree with Perlan he'll kill you, as he thinks violence is the answer.
-
Nothing wrong with killing someone who doesn't agree with you. Just leaves more people that do agree with you.

A guild is only as good as it's leader, hence discussion of the leader is relevant to the guild, and acceptable in a thread based on the guild.

I have a bar
now you ask me a coffee
you tell me what kind of coffee you want
i make it, you drink it and you pay the 0.90 Euros
but you are not giving me lessons how to make that coffee
Capisce my upside down insular friend?

err... I don't get it.

I think he said, you buy a coffee at his place, you dont like it, and instead of criticizing it, you will just keep avoiding his bar.
In terms of "Masters of Move" this means: You dont like what you read here, so just put them on your ignore list - surprisingly wise advice, I think!
(Especially when considering the guild's leader seriously points out things said to be OOC in technical discussions about the game (1 (http://www.hydlaaplaza.com/smf/index.php?topic=36112.msg411080#msg411080), 2 (http://www.hydlaaplaza.com/smf/index.php?topic=36120.msg411099#msg411099)) ::|)

Makron, each time you post becomes more humorous than the one before. You're logic is flawed because the precedents of it are off. In fact, your questioning my "upside down" view of your guild is funny, because your rebuttle is upside down and completely irrelevant to the purpose of my posts.
Oh, and by the way insular means narrow-minded outlook.

Perlyboy you've only responded with smiles and jokes, telling me all I need to know. Obviously you will not take well-founded critcism and listen to reason. Maybe it was my trusting bones and diplomatic Irish blood that allowed me to think you were worth the time.

well, if you want me to answer to your critisism, plus other numerous things coming from other people commenting on things that have nothing to do with: Masters of Move, i will once and for all do that.
i never attacked anyone without a solid reason in Hydlaa...
Yes, i have killed a man for having gravely offended my love (wouldn't you in a setting like this?)
Yes, i have challenged the guild: the Brigade to a war for being abnoxious and totally disrespectfull [in game, not on this forum], which they declined as the kikiris that they are.
This refers to a point said before: we do not hesitate to wage war on the abnoxious [war based on IC reasons]
And no, we do not "pwn" noobs, that is not our hobby. If and when we truly want to duel or fight, we friendly fight the ones we respect in duelling, (you all know who you are), since our duellers want a challenge themselves. And those duels would take place outside towns or in the arena where duelling isn't against the law.

So, no, these accusations are wrong, i charge people for being out of line in a situation [IC-ly], yes. And no, that doesn't have anything to do whether PL=RP.. nor whether OOC=IC
To be totally frank, these were all IC-ly acts.
As a matter of fact.. Perlan doesn't even have anything to do in Hydlaa, when it concerns PL, because he trained all he wanted already. ::|
And yes, he trained all that in a so called "PL" fashion, he didn't yell for instance: i am gonna kill you, filthy looking outgrown critter - with these magic missiles conjured from my glyph sack right here; the NPC wouldn't even have answered. If and when people train, they do a thing that has been called PL, it has nothing to do with whether one RPs or not. If you don't "PL" when you train, you are simply not being efficient. One can PL and RP, but some people here do not see that is an option as well. The discussion about PL and RP gets really old, plus it doesn't belong in this topic. Me, personally, i am done discussing that matter, for it seems to be an endless discussion, where two parties will never agree and forget a third party that does both.
As for the abnoxious; experience learns they cannot be reasoned with, so threats make them shut their mouths and ignore us, and we them. Problem solved, both parties happy, no violence used.
Furthermore: if people don't like what they see, then simply don't join, we never asked here, nor on our website for recruits anyway. For the ones that know so well how we should run our guild: the fact is that we run it and continue to do so, we run it following all game rules and we seem to be doing a good job, that has started 2 years ago (repeat: if you don't like what you see....). Positive critisism will be taken note of, negative critisism is just something we can't do very much with, many times childish, and most of the time, that negative critisism is OOC-ly anyway, if i may and will add. I am done commenting on that, since i can spend my time in a more constructive matter.

I totally agree, Makron
A bow to all,
Perlan, Grandmaster of the Masters of Move
[all said here is OOC]

Yet, in a Group chat we had with Calak once, where he jokingly said "Perlan and Akaiddo are gettin' married" you, Perlan Cernun, threatened to send guild assassins after him, and to kill him, etc.
In an OOC Group Chat (as there's no spell to form a Group Chat over such a great distance).
Also, do note that the correct spelling for "abnoxious" is obnoxious.

Move on, everyone has stated their thoughts now leave the thread to Guild info please

there is a proverb in my land (once also the greatest land on earth) that can be translated like this
Bark, therefore we ride
Perl, my friend, read it and understand its meaning and keep it present in your mind
Thats the only critic i have to do to you and MoM
Keep riding MoM, for the louder the barking the better you're doing it
disclaimer: english is my 4th language, please abstain any apprentice of ''ms word spell corrector'' from correcting all the possible mistakes in this post

Hmm nice page! For some reason "Masters of Move" made me think of dancing.
