It's nearly that time again. The best day ever! Well, maybe second best day ever to Christmas. Oh, and there's my birthday too... hmm and that week I take every year in winter when i go some place warm.. those are pretty good days too... Ok! so maybe its still top 10.
Anyways! Halloween is coming. And since it's one of those holidays that just about everyone around the world likes to celebrate in one shape or form, and that I'm a curious person, I thought I'd make a thread about it.
Soooooooo, what yeah all doing for it this year? Taking your kids door to door to collect candy? Going off to a party? Or just staying at home and pretending the day never existed?
I unfortunately, have to work a double shift that day, so the fun activities I wanted to attend, have been pretty much shot, but that is my life it seems. /sigh
So what yeah all doing? And if you're dressing up, lets see those scary costumes :-3
Happy Halloween!

I'm not taking kids! I AM the one getting candy! :D I'm not as old as you people think ::)
Anyways, I'm thinking of dressing up as this guy from a British television sci-fi show (*cough*Torchwood*cough cough*). I apparently have an old army coat that I could use.
I'll see if I can upload a pic as halloween comes and goes :)

The pretending it doesn't exist sounds about right.
-
My son is already hyper enough. I don't need any MORE sugar/artifical stuff to jack him up on. ;D
-
i'll be in that crew of undead teenagers who hide behind trees and scare the crap out of little kids. then steal their candy. bwahahaha!
-
I'll probably be dressed as a drunk guy, vomiting on a footpath...
...just like any other weekend ::|
-
May the ancient spirits of the celtics come over you for commercialising this ... ah, heck, a reason to open some bottles!
-
Working a double shift like Neko, but at least at my first job I get to dress up :)

Hurray for Halloween!
Agenda: Girls night out. Witch costumes mandatory. Transportation via rented bus.
Tradition: Jello shots/food/drinks on the bus. Five stops during the evening. What fun!
The pic below was snapped last Friday after we entered a bar and the band dedicated "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" to us. XD
I'll be wearing my costume to work this Friday.

I normally take the kids to my Aunt's house for ToT. Last year, I alone, walked 20 kids around the neighborhood. We recently move and just love the new neighborhood, so I will be staying in my area. Stil walking a large group of kids though. After that, I probably won't remember what I do next come Sunday. ;D
-
I gather my annoying young cousins and make them go around to the houses trick or treating. Then I take the spoils of my choosing. For once they are useful.

@ zarre:
Sometimes I feel like I might enjoy being bewitched... ;)
BTW, Heidi Klum might be one of your idols regarding this topic. Her custumes are already quite legendary, along her parties.

For those of you that may wonder what a good treat to hand out may be:

Well drey, you're probably more into destroying pumpkins, so here's a video from the chemistry professors at the main campus at Nottingham University in Nottingham, England about how they celebrate the holiday.

Mandatory Disclaimer:
Don't try to repeat those experiments at home, especially the one that uses thermite. Molten iron is a bit dangerous.
-
The popular-scientific TV series "Galileo" on the german Pro7 TV broadcaster showed a way to "detonate" a face out of a pumpkin -- using tiny explosive capsules.
Unfortunately, I did not find any recorded video...
-
pumpkin soup!
also: there's dancing, behind movie scenes behind the movie scenes...
