Title: Can't enter setup

I have a common problem. When I try to start the game I get the message "EXPECTATION ACCESS VIOLATION....". Then everybody tells me to enter setup and change some things but my problem is that I can't enter the setup. All i get is the standard windows "send, don't send?"
What do I do!?!?
