Hi everybody.
I'm trying to joing the world of PS. My computer is a DELL laptop D430 with an integrated 954GM intel video chipset. Running WinXP PRO.
When I start the application, my coputer FREEZES couple of minutes after the game started and I have to use the power button to power cycle it. It's never happaned before in any other application.
Any ideas?

At what point does it freeze ?
Are you able to get into the game and walk around before it freezes ?
Are you able to create a character ?
When it freezes
Do you get a bluescreen ?
Does the mouse pointer stop moving ?
Whats the last thing you see on the screen when it freezes ?
-
Furthermore:
Do you hear your cooling fan speeding up remarkably? - Could the freeze be based on overheating?
Neiter the Laptop design in general, nor intel integrated GPUs, are very recommendable for 3D intense games; and the next version will top that easily.

It freezes when I build a charecter. the mouse simply stops moving. Once (out for ~5) I got a bluescreen

Bluescreening and freezes like that are usually due to bad hardware, bad ram, or bad drivers.
As a first step I would check dell's site for system updates and install them.

When was the last time you ran a check disk then defraged your disk?

All of the drivers are up to date (according to Dell's website).
I've defraged the HDD a couple of month ago.
All of other games work fine and no problem with any app....

Take a look at this link: http://www.hydlaaplaza.com/smf/index.php?topic=5053.msg46700#msg46700 (http://www.hydlaaplaza.com/smf/index.php?topic=5053.msg46700#msg46700)
If you follow the instructions and create a file with the program's output ( debug.txt ) then that might be helpful.
( as shown at the bottom: \\PlaneShift\\psclient.exe -video=opengl -verbose -console -norelight > debug.txt )
