Title: Client Help
Post by: Mogweh on December 10, 2009, 09:41:18 am
I'm running a Linux x64 box. I was running .4 version of the client this morning but when I tried to log in it said I needed to update. I did that but nothing updated. I read that the server is being updated for .5, so, I installed .5 and ran that. Still I get a message telling me to update. I've looked in the /opt/Planeshift folder and there is no update script. Looking round the PS sight I cant find one for .5. Am I blind or is there something else I should be doing?

Many thanks

Mog.

i think we have to wait till the server will be updated (one or two days, i hope)

I had the same problem trying to run the linux 0.5 client but was able to update by running:
Code: [Select]
./pslaunch --console --repair

Yes I ran

sudo ./pslaunch --repair (made a coffee as it takes a while)

deleted ~/.PlaneShift folder

and lowered my resolution and graphics to lowest.

And it worked.

I then gradually upped my graphics back up to high. Not sure if this was just a lucky step or what, but I'm in and things look nice and shiney.
