Title: Several issues
Post by: Glaciusor on December 10, 2009, 08:34:50 pm
I'm having several issues with the new version of PlaneShift.

1. On my Windows XP machine, it takes significantly longer than before to load PlaneShift, and just as I reach gameplay I get an exception access violation the vast majority of the time.
2. The few times I get to gameplay, I either get an exception access violation within a minute or so or my graphics driver dies.
3. I tried the Linux distro on my Ubuntu 9.04 desktop and I can't even get it to start running. I try bit it complains about not being able to find a lot of files and then segfaults.

I've ran the "repair" option on both systems and nothing was found to be wrong, and for the XP machine I dropped the graphics settings as low as I could.

Does anybody have any advice? I'm out of ideas.

Try un-instaling it and going here to re-instal it:

Hope it works:)

That's where I got the file from, but I'll give it a try anyway and will post the results.

I can't torrent from where I am, and I don't think that is the issue. I've actually been logged in and have played for a few minutes, until the client decided to access memory it wasn't given by Windows and was killed...

I hate replying to my own thread, but I wanted to say that the issue has been resolved ^_^.

I read on another thread to wait for a little while on the character select page before entering the game, and if I do that it doesn't have a memory access violation.
