Ok so I am new to the linux thing. I have ubuntu 9.10 and I just downloaded planeshift. I got it to finally download after scanning these boards but now I ran into a new problem.
I have seen in a few posts how people got their updater to work, I have tried these commands in the terminal and it still will not work.
If anyone can help me get this updater to work i would appreciate it sooooo much..
O by the way, I have a 32 bit downloaded verision if that matters.

try a sudo pslaunch --repair
run pslaunch as sudo always, otherwise updater will NOT work.
Hope that helps, based on my minimal knowledge of Unix systems

Sudo is not a user. You can't 'run as sudo'. When using sudo, you're running as root.
Also, real men set permissions, rather than run as root.
