Where do I Download/How?!? ???

We ask that you download the torrents and use them. If you don't know how to use a torrent download http://www.utorrent.com/downloads and then download the installer torrent you want (example PlaneShift-v0.5.0.exe torrent) then open the torrent! :-[
NOTE: Torrents are completely legal when used correctly, Planeshift is a correct use for a torrent. 3DS Max, Windows XP ect is not. \\o//
Which installer do I need? :o
If you don't know if you need the 32 or the 64 bit version get the 32.

Get an "Incorrect configuration" error when launching Planeshift OR Get a "Side by side configuration" error :surrender:
So Install...
32 Bit

Get an EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION error when starting the game... :'(
Add the following line to either %ProgramFiles%\PlaneShift\psclient.cfg or %APPDATA%\PlaneShift\planeshift.cfg
(locations for Windows, assuming default installation):
ThreadManager.AlwaysRunNow = true
If that doesn't work keep trying, we are aware of the issue and hope to have a fix soon. It will work usually by the 3rd time. :-\
NOTE: If you have $CRYSTAL set in your environment variables this can cause problems as well. Remove it and that will help. (If you don't know what this is you don't have it) ;)

ok, get this. [on a Mac OS X 10.6.2]
The line:
ThreadManager.AlwaysRunNow = true
is in my psclient.cfg file in the library/application Support/planeshift folder. I was still having a lot of crashes when logging on and some during play.
However, I have added the code to the psclient.cfg file in the application folder and the program does now start better and seem to run better too.
Why should this make a difference??? Maybe something to think about.

Sorry, but where exactly do you add this line in the psclient.cfg file? at the begenning or end?

Whenever I edit the CFG file I have to save it as a txt file. Do I need a specific editor, or will it be alright as a txt file?

Just make sure the filename ends in .cfg and not .txt or .cfg.txt or anything odd like that.
Some text editors may change or modify the filename extension...
Best to use a plain vanilla text editor like notepad, kate or gedit ( not a word processor )

if you use notepad you have to select "all files" in the save dialog to avoid txt being added

i've succussfully installed the new version of the game but can't seem to get past the "planshift launcher" page. i did the updates and everything but now all i can do is check for repairs (which it doesn't seem to need), adjust my setings or quit. If I click the big "play" link in the bottom right hand corner, the launcher page dispaers breifly then flicks back. is this a common problem? is the another part of the game i need to download before i can actually, well, play it? any advice would be much appreciated... thanks. x

Try running psclient instead of pslaunch ?

psclient might crash without error if you do not have the elves skin selected (probably because you had a previous install with a different skin).

ok, not sure if my problem can be fixed here or another thread. :offtopic:
I keep getting a "Bad Gateway" error when I click on the windows 32 torrent link.
Any input on this would be helpful.
