Title: Trollers and No Help
Post by: Buzzurks on January 05, 2010, 11:37:22 pm
I'm kind of angered by the fact that on the non-RP server there are never any gm's or advisors on. Me and my friends keep trying to do quests and have fun but we keep being bothered and trolled by the same group of people (a guild of people to be precise) and even though we keep trying to report them, there are never any advisors on the help channel. I think I'm rightfully annoyed. :/

Have you considered hopping into IRC and speaking to a GM in #planeshift-gmtalk?

I suppose that'd help. I'll try that.

Also keep in mind, that advisors are also just players like you and couldn't do anything about it. Actually, that there are no advisors is a thing for you to change and not to complain about ;) /advisor on

Adding to Sen's post, there is an awesome command called /report <playername>

It logs the last five minutes of the chat for Game Masters, and the next five too (I think), as it has passed through the server. Solid evidence. Then use the petition interface to lodge an explanation of the report, just so that the Game Master easily figures what happened fast.

A few other notes:

-- Don't use it to incriminate yourself, as they troll you, don't flame, or you'll get punished for breaking the same rules they are. Ask them to leave you alone, don't let them anger you or your /report will just get you in trouble too. Trolls looooove that.

-- If your petition seems to be left inactive, pop onto IRC (Internet Relay Chat), select irc.freenode.net as your server, and join the #planeshift-gmtalk channel. You can privately discuss the problem with Game Masters there.

-- The advice channels are rather quiet on EZ as it has a tiny player base compared to the Roleplay server. I don't play on it, personally. That said, "advisors" are just players who have set a flag on themselves to voluntarily help other players. You shouldn't rely on it much, there are other sources of information.

-- Note that quests are a bit broken with the new menues, if you're really stuck, pop into the #planeshift channel on irc.freenode.net (IRC again) and ask there if anyone can assist you. Don't bug the Game Masters because you need help cutting bread or collecting things for an NPC, they're fairly busy keeping the peace and organising events for the Roleplay server.
