Title: chat tabs, miss communications
Post by: EStripus on January 11, 2010, 09:52:19 am
I know the team has their hands full with getting the game to run predictably, but I have a concern that I'm sure others have. The chat system.  I am forever sending things into the wrong chats and mis telling because the typing box always automatically gives the /command of whatever tab I last typed within regardless of what tab I am currently viewing.  Can you please drop the auto command from the typing box, so I can send to the tab I'm viewing. If the players want to talk in a tab we are not viewing, then let us type the /command in ourselves. So far my miscommunications have been benign and we all laugh about them, but it is becoming very frustrating to have to keep deleting the command, hitting enter before typing anything, or scrolling back to the prior script to correct the /command.  All of these options waste time, kill the mood, and cause confusion when trying to keep up with RPs and OOC conversations across multiple tabs.

Go to your Options window->Interface->Chat and turn off "Default last chat".  I don't know why this is turned on by default or what its purpose is.

In svn it is now turned off by default (on my request).

but still you'll need previous procedure if you don't reset defaults and have already a config
