At the risk of seeming too nice in our oh so tragically hip and cynical world(s) :-X - here's a suggestion. Roled wonders if anyone will respond...
What if we post here short descriptions of players doing things 'right'?- such as inclusive and ongoing storytelling role plays, helping newbies, carrying on IC conversations in passing, getting involved in other's developing stories...
For example, the other night five citizens found ourselves in Trasok's shop. Roled ran into his friend Lodisto, and Lodisto asked about selling some blades he had looted. He thought Trasok's offered price was too low. Destina happened in, and offered that there is to be a market in Hydlaa sunday, and pointed out the notice outside the shop. Roled went to read the notice, and reported back. Lodisto's friend Enonel appeared and L introduced him all around, then Roled's friend Syenna appeared. All started talking about the market, organized by Jaycol and that led to Destina and RR telling about the attack on Jaycol last fall (furthering that story line to others who weren't involved). We talked in hushed tones about the level of crime and number of lunatics at large in the lands. For about 20-25 minutes these characters inter-acted: Roled met a person he didn't know, learned things, the players revealed parts of their characters' backstory through small comments and IC actions. :thumbup:

http://IMHO this was a brief example of PS at it's best- chance encounters played out fully by developed, complex characters who all stayed IC for the whole interaction. Storylines furthered- characters deepened- new acquaintances made- mysteries hinted at- events and rps shared- and FUN was had, at least by this little Dermorian. If others choose to post here, perhaps more will note the names of characters who participate in rps and seek out IC ways to make their IG acquaintance.
