Title: Update issue (Cann't enter into game)
Post by: edgepoly on February 02, 2010, 09:01:44 am
I have downloaded the PlaneShift-v0.5.1-x86.bin file.
And install them to /opt with default option.

After installation, there are short cut icon in my Applications menu.
I clicked the menu item of " Applications ==> Games ==> PlaneShift".

Then an opened window with title "PlaneShift Launcher" appeared.
And it will jump another dialog about update.

Whether I update or un-update, I would fail to play this game.

Oh, my god.

It's so trouble to play game in the linux operation system.

I am very appreciated with you who can help me.

Thank you!

Please describe the way how it fails, and give a detailed report about your hardware (especially graphic card chipset and driver version).

The minimum requirements about the 3D features are rather high now (since the CrystalSpace3D engine changed to use GL Shader rendering).

A full featured OpenGL driver is required. A GeForce FX(+) is highly recommended - especially for Linux (ATI HD may be similar in features, but Linux drivers have more issues).

Furthermore, go through all the options in the launcher at least once to ensure that the configuration file is complete. Start with "medium" textures and shaders.
