Title: mining practice just for digging at low levels
Post by: bilbous on February 02, 2010, 03:34:46 pm
Apparently it is intended behaviour that mining practice only occurs with the successful use of the skill (get ore= get practice.) (http://www.hydlaaplaza.com/flyspray/index.php?do=details&task_id=4023) I would like to suggest that at low levels of the skill it would make sense that just digging could logically be considered practice as you are training your muscles to break rock efficiently with the pick. As it stands now, unless you are on a particularly good vein of ore a new character can tire himself out several times before he gets any practice points, i.e. run out of stamina., just digging for iron and coal.

I remember that mining itself already gives a little bit of experience each time you dig, no matter if you are successful. -- Are you sure this got disabled?

 Experience vs. Practice ... sorry.

I can confirm that since I tried it with a new char, digging gave me a little experience that's true, but not in mining and I tired several times before getting my first iron ore (I dug about 20-25 times I think). And than I just gave up, that char will never be able to dig at this rate.  ::)
