Hey.  I've just signed up, and am going through the tutorial.  I'm confused at the magic part, though; the game says I'm supposed to click a button for combining glyphs at the top of the spellbook box, but there is no button there, and there is no combining glyphs button anywhere, only Cast, Research, and Active Spells.  What am I missing?

Further, even though I bought the air glyph, and it shows up in my inventory, in the spell book section, it shows no glyphs.  ???

You must click on research button first. Spell book is listing only already researched spells, not glyphs.

There's still no button that will let me purify the glyph, as far as I can tell.  When I try putting it in the Assemble slots under research, it just says Not a purified glyph.

I should also note that my interface is markedly different from what it shows on the game website, which I'm guessing is because I'm playing it on a Mac?

The button to purify your glyph is above the assembly slots. above the left most slot. You don't put the glyph in the slot you simply drag the glyph to the purify button and drop the glyph on the purify button. The glyph will return back from where you dragged it and in your system message tab it will say you start to purify the glyph.
