Title: PS 0.5.2 crashes on update
Post by: confused on February 23, 2010, 02:43:37 pm
OS is OpenSuse 11.2 64 bit on Intel motherboard and CPU.

I have downloaded the latest installer 0.5.2 and installed it. Removed the libvorbis library from libs/ directory, to ensure locally build audio libs are used.

Every time I run "./pslaunch" it requests an update to take place. Downloads about 3.0 MB then segmentation faults. Same happens with "./pslaunch --console" too.

Unable to get past this point.

Try saying "no' to installing the update and then click play.

I get the same error if a run pslaunch.
I typically just run psclient ( out of habit )

I was having problems with the update to .5.2.1 not successfully completing on my mandriva until I did planeshift --repair of my .5.2 which fixed the problem, it took quite a while to complete because it downloaded materials.zip which is quite large and about six other smaller files. At least the downloads have progress meters now so you can tell if they are still working.

After the repair I was up to date.
