Title: Gift crashing

Well, i've looked around and can't find anything, so here.
I get a crash when trying to give the dwarf her blacksmith book in the tutorial.
I click Gift, and the client crashes, stating:
"Runtime Error!"
"Program C:\Program Files\Planeshift\psclient.exe"
"abnormal program termination"

this also happens when I try to open the inventory.
Any solutions?

EDIT: Fixed the gifting problem, just talked to her, bnut still unable to open the inventory.

Okay, I've actually lost faith now. This has been here for a while now, and nobody has bothered to help me. Doesn't really give me a good impression of the game does it?

not sure why anyone hasnt really looked....its a great game really but there are bugs, its best if you report it on the bugtracker.
but i dont crash with those problems so i cant really help you...
if you need to equip somthing or unequip somthing, until you can use your inventory, do /equip [name /dequip [name or /drop [name
those the best ways to avoid opening inventory
you can also do /use [name]

Hi Flina,

I suppose, you are using Linux, since there are several threads about the problem you are having on this forum.

Because such issues are often hardware dependent (mostly graphic driver issues), it is always useful to know the details of the hardware (especially about the graphic card).

In your case: Do you have a GeForce FX 5xxx?

search for disabling texture compression.

I have a 5600FX, but i am using Windows, not Linux.

Ah, a GeForce FX 5600  >o) ... well, if the mentioned patch (^ Minks' reply) helps, then it confirms the reason again.  :detective:
