Every time I go into the launch, it keeps telling me that I'm not the Admin of this computer and that I should get the proper permissions so that I can get the update. ???
I am the Admin and only user of the computer, so I have no idea how to proceed. ???
-
I think there's a problem with last update, if you ignore it and launch psclient the game starts?
-
hmm... i know if you are on windows you rightclick on PlaneShift and there is an option to run as admin
Lilura has no Knowledge of Macs but there should be a similar option
-
Go to System Preferences, System, Accounts.
Click on your account and make sure "allow user to administer this computer" is checked.
If its not, that's how you set it to admin.
If it is, I would try adding another account by clicking the plus and set that one up for admin, log into it and see if you can do it from there.

Or click on the PLaneshift app folder then get info on the folder and make sure the permissions are set to read and write. If the permissions aren't set to read and write then change them to read and write and apply the changes to everything in the folder.

the wisdom strikes again :3

I tried all the above, and it won't allow me to change the permissions of the folder to "read and write."
I've only had this computer for about a year and a half... Even with the help tab, I'm not making much progress... :(

Have you tried repairing your permissions? To to your utility folder in your applications folder and select the disk utility and then run repair permissions.
-
Did you copy the PlaneShift folder into our Applications folder first?

Ummm... No... What does that do?
-
Well you are suppose to move the planeshift folder into your applications folder and run the program from there. That is probably causing your permission problem in not being able to update.
-
What kind of computer, Mac or Windows?

Ah, okay, I'll try that then, but I'm going to just clean up everything and start from scratch, since I've got everything so disorganized at the moment. >.<
And thanks.

^ that's the proper way to ask else you have asked what kind of computer a pc or a pc?
-
Weltal, technically your correct but I have found its usually more efficient to just simplify the question.
In this case, if I had been more observant I would not have had to ask XD
