If you like PlaneShift music, we have a surprise for you!
In honor of the release of Arcane Chrysalis the PlaneShift Music and Art department's banded together to assemble an Original Sound Track for your listening pleasure. It contains many tracks found in game, plus few other bonus tracks soon to be added. We think it's a beautiful soundtrack, and it really expresses our motivation and inspiration to make PlaneShift the best free game ever! We added printable cover and back, so you can burn and print your own CD! If you do that please post your happy shots with it in this forum thread[/url].
Please note that the CD can be freely downloaded at no cost, but the music is copyrighted to Atomic Blue and under the PlaneShift Content License (http://www.planeshift.it/license.html), in short this means you cannot redistribute it, sell it or gain any profit from it.

I love the music in PlaneShift!!!! but there are massive improvements needed so I thought I'd place my ideas here
1) music is continuous, in EVERY game the music stops for awhile, in between songs, and you just have the background music (birds, wind, etc)
2) I really do not like Hydlaa's music it sounds like someone is banging on a keyboard and Hydlaa is not haunted :P
3) Wind is rather roaring, that could just be a nice swish sound instead
4) More songs hehe I'd get the song stuck in my head if I was mining with music on LOL.

Been a while since I've listened to the music (I have it on mute) I listened a little bit to some of the songs and I'm enjoying them. Thanks for the download!

Vakachehk that stuff is mostly fixed or being fixed for the next release, if you are interested in helping the music/sound dept there is a TON X-/ of work that needs to be done that takes little to no experience. I love the planeshift music so much that I had already converted the songs from the .ogg format and listen to them regularly. \\o//
That's normal, right? :P
Anyway, delighted to see this soundtrack and I assure you I'll enjoy the songs to their fullest.

You have speakers? and they are not on mute?
Click on settings in PS launch and click sound and enable it, then to play around with different volumes go in game and play around with it under options on your toolbar.
@ botanic. I do not wish to join the PS dev team :) I am sure I am not old enough too I believe you have to be over 18 to join?

A very nice idea! :thumbup: I have muted music since it made gameplay laggy. Now I can listen to the soundtrack from Itunes! \\o// Songs are beautyful, some do not sound familiar though. But then... its been three years when I listened to the music while playing!

I hate it when games have no continuous music. I didn't even know that there are people who like that better, I thought it was just a flaw in those games because their musicians are unable to produce music that loops well. Then again, PS music doesn't loop well (especially e.g. the theme music), and it'd probably be better off to have a pause before restarting.

Funny, I've never played ps with sound enabled. Will have to listen to this one day.
I have no clue what planeshift's music sounds like .. but I really dont like games that beat the same repetitious track into your head over and over. To be silence is better than repetition.

Rigwyn might I aak what games you can think of that do a good job on the bg music not being repetitive, I'm always looking for ideas ^.^

Honestly, I can't say I ever came accross a game who's bg music I liked... But i'll listen to the ps bg music and tell you what I think :)

This is great, thanks! My only comment is that giving each track a different artists makes this kind of a pain to listen to in something like Amarok without re-tagging. I realize you probably want to give credit where it's due, but I'd consider re-tagging each track with something like "Planeshift Team" as the artist.

first you need a good place where you can stick the camera in front of a tree, moving the character for a good close-up. then get ready a finger on the screenshot key, and wait until the klyros scratches the head. :) google for a good image of a cd case , mix all together in Gimp and you've done.
I have mirrored the mouth for a thin smile, but now I'll definitely choose the IWarping filter, just a click for a better effect.

Ups, Maybe is a little late but The music is ....marvelous!!! sometimes the music isnt according to theme by the way, but I have no words for !!!
