The opening has been great fun already !

Fun ... uhm ... depends.

It was a well organised opening, great thanks to Roled and his friends, to Elady and the Stonehead tavern staff, to the Brotherhood of Talad.

One of the top moments was surely when Lord Barike Cheshire announced his courting for Queen Lolitra Purrty.

But he was obviously nervous due to another reason as well, he smelled the danger in the shadows already.

Unfortunately he stepped out without gathering more support - this gave Jacula the chance to stab him.

How cruel can one be, to let emotions go from top to bottom? Everyone with some sense of law and peace is asked to support House Cheshire and House Purrty now, ending this terror eventually. In the way the law requests.

Jamona and the 7th Level Melodies - with support by Xifer's pyro show - concluded the event in hope and confidence.

The Laanx Sermon

Things got off to a slow start as people wandered in, including...
(21:01:08) Jacula wears a long flowing robe, colored in the deepest of red. The exquisite fabric has been embroidered with a serpent which has been highlighted with golden and emerald stiches. A commonly known insignia of the Laanx temple. The hood of the robe rests over his head, hiding his masked face in darkness.
(21:01:28) Giroum takes out a small book from his satchel and places it upon the lectern, he then removes his jade pipe from a voluminous sleeve and proceeds to light it with a small conjured flame. He takes a draw on the pipe, breathes out the smoke and begins.
(21:01:28) Xitop says: Nice to see that priest has recovered... shocking business..
(21:01:38) Giroum shouts: It is with great pleasure that I, Giroum Duphra of the Devotees of Laanx, present this sermon to you today as part of the Unodin Festival.

(21:02:13) Jacula leans up against one of the stone pillars, listening idly to Giroum.
(21:02:28) Giroum shouts: Unodin is of course, the beginning of a new year and as many of you will know and no doubt the followers of Xiosia will remind you, it is a time of great activity for those involved in agriculture. I will leave such matters to them.
(21:02:28) Corealanos looks up at the Priest and smiles as he begins to speak
(21:03:13) Giroum shouts: The month of Unodin is represented by Deshiin, the sign of the Steady Hand. This represents perseverance and a strong will. Such is a core tenet in the beliefs of those who worship Laanx. The Masquerade Lord.
(21:03:14) >Heleckie Volaur takes a seat.
(21:03:14) >Jacula Pundactum takes a seat by Heleckie Volaur.
(21:03:17) >Heleckie Volaur stands up.
(21:03:34) >Heleckie Volaur takes a seat.
(21:03:53) Ingcha watches as more enter the temple, and smiles
(21:04:09) Giroum shouts: There are those who call Laanx a harsh god. An unforgiving god.
(21:04:09) Giroum shakes his head and gestures with his smoking pipe
(21:04:28) Xitop whispers.. they've done a marvelous job stitching him back together..
(21:04:41) Jacula leans back into the stone bench, snorting given Giroum's gesture.
(21:04:50) Corealanos clenches his jaw, lifts up his head and breaths slowly and deeply as he slowly gazes around the congregation examining each one as the take their seat.
(21:05:05) Giroum shouts: Such is not true. Laanx demands that his worshippers be strong, in both body and mind, so that they may survive the hardships of life in Yliakum.
(21:06:10) Giroum stretches his hands to encompass the great hall of the temple
(21:06:10) Giroum shouts: Like Galeran Tarbius` Iron Temple itself, we must be forged in searing heat. Tempered by hardship, only to emerge stronger. As it is written in the Song of the Lemur, Laanx asked the first of her creations what they wanted of her. And they replied `nothing`.
(21:07:00) >Baruden Etewack takes a seat.
(21:07:03) Xitop says: but not as rusty
(21:07:03) Giroum shouts: me grips the lectern and leans forward
(21:07:03) Giroum shouts: We do not bend knee before our god seeking baubles and gifts to make us great. We do so by our own deeds! All I have ever asked of my creator was guidance. And that I have received.

(21:07:45) >Asiek Qulesara takes a seat.
(21:07:45) Jacula cups his masked chin in his hand as he ponders over Giroum's claims.
(21:08:09) Ingcha nods her head at the priest`s words
(21:08:29) Giroum draws on his pipe once more, a red glow lighting his aged features from below.
(21:08:30) Giroum shouts: I have also seen his miracles. I speak not of granting fawning sycophants powers and abilities, blinding them to the hardships of life in the process. Nor do I refer to the work of an impulsive and jealous god who preaches swift forgiveness when he himself should seek it!
(21:08:51) Heleckie wiggles around in discomfort
(21:09:48) Jacula grunts as he breifly looks out over the people present from under the darkness of his hood.
(21:09:57) Giroum casts his violet gaze over the assembly
(21:09:57) Giroum shouts: I myself have twice seen the unworthy, the enemy of my lord, struck down for their insolence. Their defiance. I tell you that Laanx *is* a harsh master. That we live in a harsh world. And that the followers of the Masked God have, as Deshiin shows, a Steady Hand and a strong will.
(21:10:18) >Heleckie Volaur stands up.
(21:10:43) Asiek nods to heleckie
(21:10:44) >Heleckie Volaur takes a seat.
(21:10:53) Xitop says: Heleckie.. please show some respect here
(21:11:00) Heleckie grins and nudges Asiek
(21:11:00) >Asiek Qulesara stands up.
(21:11:07) Giroum then indicates the brazier by Sharven, eeire motes of amethyst magic effervescing from it.
(21:11:07) Giroum shouts: Those who have brought prayers for our lord, join me now at the brazier so that they may be delivered to Laanx.
(21:11:16) >Asiek Qulesara takes a seat.
(21:11:30) Giroum shouts: Please form an orderly line and give me your prayer and the mushroom.
(21:11:50) Giroum collects his book and moves to the brazier
(21:12:01) >Heleckie Volaur stands up.
(21:12:03) Corealanos takes to his feet and slowly and solomly make his way to the priest.
(21:12:06) >Corealanos Verdus stands up.
(21:12:18) Heleckie stands up to see better
(21:12:29) >Corealanos Verdus takes a seat.
(21:12:29) >Corealanos Verdus stands up.

(21:12:38) >Ingcha Indarica stands up.
(21:12:47) >Giroum Duphra greets Corealanos Verdus.
(21:12:57) Giroum nods to Corealanos
(21:13:13) Giroum says: It pleases me greatly to see you here, Corealanos. You have brought a prayer?
(21:13:52) Jacula looks down at Corealanos, following the to him strange ritual. He lets a few screeching breaths escape his mask as he contemplates.
(21:13:57) Corealanos drops to one knee, bowing his head he raises both hands towards Giroum with his pray held firmly between his fingers, "I have master Giroum" he says clearly
(21:14:16) Giroum says: Please give me the prayer and mushroom.
(21:14:43) Corealanos offers Giroum his prayer and his mushroom
(21:14:58) >Asiek Qulesara greets Heleckie Volaur.
(21:16:35) Giroum accepts the prayer and the night mushroom, reading the prayer and nodding approvingly
(21:16:42) Giroum wraps the mushroom in the prayer, rests it atop an iron scoop and lowers it into the metal brazier, the magical fire consuming the offering and reducing it to ash. He then removes it from the eldritch blaze.
(21:17:29) Giroum then hands the ash back to Corealanos, "Scatter this ash in a place of great import to you and your prayer, whilst repeating the prayer to yourself."
(21:17:55) >Heleckie Volaur takes a seat by Asiek Qulesara.
(21:18:08) Giroum bows his head, "And may Laanx frighten the shadows from thy path."
(21:18:18) Corealanos nods solomly and slowly get to his feet
(21:18:21) >Corealanos Verdus stands up.
(21:18:33) Jacula lets out a vague raspy laughter as he watches Giroum hand Corealanos the ashes remaining of his prayer.
(21:18:33) >Corealanos Verdus takes a seat.
(21:18:36) Ingcha shouts: Have any more of the faithful brought prayers for our lord?
(21:18:50) Xitop says: Not this time
(21:19:58) Giroum looks about the congregation, his eyes somewhat narrowed.
(21:20:07) Giroum says: So be it.
(21:20:14) Jacula leans back into the bench again, a light smile adorning his disfigured lips under his mask. As if amsued.
(21:20:27) Corealanos carefully places the ashes into a small silken purse which he places in to a small pocket within his cloak.
(21:20:34) >Ingcha Indarica takes a seat.
(21:21:02) Giroum shouts: Then allow me to thank you for attending my sermon and I pray that you heed my words.
(21:21:24) Giroum shouts: Now...go. Enjoy the festivities.
(21:21:29) Corealanos bows his head his lips moving in silent prayer
(21:21:31) >Asiek Qulesara stands up.
(21:21:35) Xitop says: Praise be!!
(21:21:44) Xitop says: now for a drink and a pie
(21:21:47) >Xitop Klitatagok stands up.
(21:22:09) Asiek says: coming heleckie
(21:22:12) Xitop says: a wonderful sermon, i thought

(21:22:32) Asiek says: yes it was really good
(21:22:49) Giroum bows to Ingcha
(21:22:57) Ingcha bows to Giroum
(21:23:08) >Ingcha Indarica stands up.
(21:23:30) Giroum says: Ingcha, there is someone here I would have you meet, as it happens.
(21:23:47) Corealanos stands and slowly makes his way to Giroum, smiling lightly as he does, "A rousing sermon, Master Giroum."

WOW!

Let me first say a great and rousing HUZZAH! to everyone who participated in the Unodin Festivities! And there sure were a whole lot of us!

HUZZAH!

/me throws his holy helmet- carefully- into the air!

Special thanks of course to all who organized events, who talked to their Guild mates and friends, who stepped in when things were needed, and who so graciously assisted Elady, Jacol and meself in all the preparations. Thanks to the food and drink bringers and sharers, the priestesses and priests, the screen shot takers and post-ers, the undercover 'secret role players', the singers and dancers and merchants and race marshals and torch gatherers and staff gatherers, to presenters and heralds and protectors, to the engaged couple and their entourage, and thanks even to the bad guys who made events even more exciting, surprising and unpredictable!

And a great rousing "Thankee' to each and every one of us who deepened our stories, forged and developed relationships, forwarded action, went with the improvisational flow, stayed true to our characters and created the atmosphere of.. our oft used word...immersion! in this magical land.
