Title: Earth Day 2010
Post by: Rigwyn on April 22, 2010, 01:21:01 pm

Yay, its Earth day ( Google it )
So, what are you doing to honnor or desecrate this fine day?

What insight into green-ness do you wish to share ?

What I'm doing for earth day ?:

* Starting a post about earth day on a prominent, well respected internet forum.
* will use the same coffee cup and stirrer all day instead of going through 8 coffee cups and stirrers.
* hypermiling ( I used %40 less gassoline on my way to work today by incorporating hypermiling techniques )
* I will refrain from releasing methane gas into the atmosphere :). ( Well, I'll try, just for shits and giggles )

In Germany we also have "Girls Day".

The day when female teenagers - at >90% completely uninterested in anything but shopping and giggling - are forced to visit typical male professions.

I have to wonder who is the stronger influence on those days - the girls or the boys :)
( ie. Do the guys soften up and entertain the girls - giggling and talking about anything but work, or do the girls learn to be all serious and responsible like the guys )

Oh well, so much for using one coffee cut and one stirrer...

/me peers into his trash can and stares at 4 paper cups, 4 stirrers, a plastic take-out container, plastic utensils ( only the fork was used ), a plastic potato chip bag, chop sticks, and assorted condiments that he didn't really want in the first place.

Thank you for that unique and intellectual input. As per always when you speak, my opinions of this issue have been turned upside down and I don't know what to think! The way you take reality and twist at the threads, weaving them into a new way of thinking is nothing short of stellar.

Kudos to you.

actually, when i am speaking, i produce less carbon emissions since i can't breathe and speak at the same time. therefore, to reduce my carbon footprint, i should speak more often.  :detective:

So true. I will do this every day for now on. Thanks for these insightful words.
