Inconsistency detected by ld.so: dl-close.c: 731: _dl_close: Assertion `map->l_init_called' failed!

This is what the terminal gives me when i try to run the game through terminal .. following the instructions on thenewbie guide to ubuntu on the forums..... i used the fix for the permission problem during startup, now it doesnt displays anything but still the game wont run... please help
