Kore Irka Clan presents... The Ojaveda May Market Day
The markets are open to any citizen of Yliakum and/or guild to buy a stall/shop. These are our different type of stalls and shops and there prices. All Akkaio Setha Clan members are free and can have any stall/shop that they choose.
Time and Date:
Friday 10:00pm 28th May 2010 GMT
Saturday 10:00am 29th May 2010 NZT
Saturday 8:00am 29th may 2010 Australia Brisbane time (I think)
Location: Akkaio Ojaveda.
Rat Hide: 0tria, max of one book aloud out.
Tefusang skin: 3,000tria allowed a max of 3 items on display
Ulbernout skin: 7,000tria allowed a max of 7 items on display
Small Guild stall: 15,000tria allowed a max of 15 items on display
Large guild shop: 20,000tria allowed a max of 20 items on display
Food Stalls: 8,000tria given chairs and tables, they are allowed a max of 5 items on display.
You can buy more “maximum of items on display” at the extra cost of 1,500tria, max of 22 items on display. [This is to lower the lag of the whole server and the map of AKK.]
These are the regulation items allowed on display:
1 shelf
1 table/chair/stool
19 small crates
Books as many as you are allowed.
Other larger storage items will be at a limit per stall.
Tefusang: no other storage than small crates
Ulbernout: one large storage item
Small Guild: given 4 crates, allowed two large storage items
Large Guild: allowed two large storage items
You can buy more “large storage items on display” at the extra cost of 2,000tria each max of 4 on display
All items including large storage items are not allowed to go over the stall maximum for items allowed on display, unless you buy more maximum items. To buy another Large storage item on display the 2,000tria includes your maximum items on display, you do not need to pay 1,500 extra. [if you find this rather confusing please don’t be afraid to ask Vakachehk Kivikar, PM him on the forums or /tell him IG].
To register a Stall:
Talk to Vakachehk Kivikar. [Register before the 27th May, or after that all stall buyers pay a 10% fee. /tell in game, Private Message them on Hydlaa Plaza forums or go to IRC, freenode, channel #koreirka]

[hahaha wrong account]
-
 Im all for another market day, but paying? Really? Im sorry. but what stops some one by just sitting nearby and selling their things with out paying any fees?
-
Garo, you should try it IC instead of asking OOC.
Deal with the conflict IN CHARACTER instead.
This could lead to some interesting rp.
-
I like this idea, but I am not sure where my character's wares would fit in (in regards to stalls)... She is an apothecary, somewhat. (She doesn't make it her main profession) She would only need a table or some surface and room for about 6 books (all the potions are books). The rest could be stored on her for sales.

do you just go down to the markets and plop a stall down there for free? no you have to pay rent same here. also OOCly it is so there is something stopping someone plotting down hundreds of random items lagging the map.
Well you will be surrounded by Kore enkies with nice swords lol.

By "surrounded", he means he'll be lucky if even he is there. Or even I for that matter. I wasn't even asked about this before the posting, and will probably be busy as usual. Also note he forgot to put a date or even a localised time.
/me is not very happy.

[When there is a date and international time posted I know Emmara will be interested in having a stall at this market. I'm ok with paying a fee. It adds more realism since they are attempting to make it an organized professional sounding event. In RL I do buy booth space at local festivals, so I can handle a few tria for an IG booth at an organized function. I like the guidelines for helping to keep the lag to a minimum, we'll see how well it works.]
-
[Sorry, I try not to sound like I'm complaining. Just struck me as odd. I know personally that Garo (my character) would lose more paying the fees then he would gain from selling things. Great idea though. :thumbup In a modern time period we need to pay for stuch things, but in a a less modern type era people would just get together and sell things. Maybe take that into consideration?]
-
[ why not just show up and haggle over the price ic :) ]
-
[Hrm could work....... I dont have anything to sell though :P]

[Location being Ojaveda. how could it be in Hydlaa when it says Ojaveda Market day.
And my apologize there was a discussion on the KIC forums about this. it is your fault for not reading it and me and Celawat came up with a date, and started the practical organisation of it.
I apologize for not putting the Date and time on.

Saturday 10:00am 29th May 2010 NZT

Just for Akkaiddo this is run in Akkaio Ojaveda.]
-
what would those times be in EST?
-
Surely you mean the Ojaveda Byari market right?
-
I'm curious.
Has the Octarchy given sole market rights to the stalls to the KIC on this particular day?
If not, what is there to stop a merchant or other person of profession from setting up shop on that day? Intimidation or an ass kicking?
Added: You're charging people extra tria for putting up more items to display? You're joking right? I always knew enki's had a good sense of humor.
-
The pricing is a little over the original plan, but the idea behind it is the same as any market, you pay the organiser, not to use "public" property, but to be under their organisation, and an endorsed part of the event. It prevents chaos, frankly, allowing buyers to easily browse stalls and find what they want (IC).
Other than that, remember the rules on griefing/trolling, trying to bring someone's idea down IC because OOC you think it isn't right, well that isn't right.
-
Well actually, I was only curious and secondly I would have the same complaints, as you say, ICly.
-
Well then you'd be asked not to take part.
-
Okay.
-
Well this is mostly a 'test' to see how it will go and we will see about changes to the prices in the near future but the thing is any merchant can come along BloodedIrishman can you see Rat Hide???
@Hanix I was looking everywhere for the IG months and could not find it, so I do apologise for saying May instead of Byari.
@scotty110 How many hours behind or infront of GMT are you?

The Market went well for our first one, we are pleased that all our renters made a profit from there rent.
I'd like to thank these people
Halbor was one of our only merchants that perchased a stall, he sold simple weapons between 100-250Q, he bsically made the event work
Egele was another merchant there, he was from Akkaio Setha Clan so he did not need to per chase a stall, he sold valuable and rare weapons and items he also made this a worth while event.
Celawat who helped run the market along with me via Kore Irka Clans forum.
The security that was on site by Kore Irka Clan.
And finally our renters customers who made this a worth while event.

Please post what you would like to see improved and new thoughts and ideas.

Next Market time, lower prices for tables and chairs?!!!!

Next Market time, lower prices for tables and chairs?!!!!
We have discussed the issue with pricing and we will by sure cut at least to half prices for all stalls. We may cut to half price and then half it again. regulations on the items allowed out and large storage items will be removed also.
The next market time is on waiting for Akaiddo approval (since he was not happy about this one) and the market day won't just be a market but a very special one. Our next market will be in late June we are thinking around 18th 10:00pm GMT, so it will be in the Treman month.
Thank you for your feedback.
